Early Appointment, Quick Visit and A Snap.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

When the Alarm went off at 6:00 this morning it was not just for me to go to the Gym but for the both of us to get up. Back when I was still working Kathy had received a call saying we had a Dental Appointment together at 8:00 today. That may not sound too bad for most but for us that was an Hour Drive. After lite snack and some cleaning we were soon on our way out the door.

We took the Truck in hopes of giving it a good run so it could Regen. That is the mode a newer Diesel Engine goes into when it cleans the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). While I was working the truck was only getting short runs to work and back causing the Truck to go into Regen mostly on the way home. I would then have to drive to the Expressway leaving large clouds of White Smoke behind then run to the far end before returning. Even though it was good for a week it needed to do it weekly.

Today we took the Expressway to 18 Highway that runs all the way to Amherstburg. Our destination was River Town Dentistry where we had our first Cleaning and Check-Up since the start of the Pandemic. The first thing I did was to have the receptionist put a note on our files to never book us for any future appointments before 10:00. We lucked out today hitting every Traffic Light Green. Normally we have them all turn Red on us adding travel time.

We were finished by 8:30 so using a Coupon we stopped at McDonald’s for our breakfast. It has been a long time since we ate there. Lots of seniors getting together for Coffee that appeared to have worked together in a former life.

From there we headed over to our son Kevin’s for a short visit. I also found a couple more Tools to retrieve from my large Tool Cabinet that is stored in his garage. We have an understanding.

On our return trip to Windsor we had to stop at every Traffic Light. Since it was still early we walked around Walmart bringing home a few more food stocks.

Breakfast wasn’t holding us over so we went to Wendy’s where again we used a Coupon to buy our lunch. By the time we finished we were starting to feel the effect of getting up so early.

Back at the Apartment I decided to call our Pharmacy in Amherstburg to order our Medication for next week. Even though they now have a location closer to where we live we prefer this one because they advised us about possible Side-Effects of some Medications that no other Pharmacy had ever done before. By calling today they will send off a FAX to our Doctor’s Office and have our Meds ready for pickup next week.

It was around that time that we both needed a Snap. The early hour had finally caught up to us.

The 6 o’clock Local News reported Active Coronavirus Cases for the Province but not the Windsor/Essex Region. They mention that the numbers are again on the rise and we might need to again have another Booster possibly every Year into the future.

For supper we had Chicken Noodle Soup with Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.

The Weather Network showed we reached a high of 43 F (6 C) today under Sunny skies. We were told to remember what that looked like because we will see little of it for the next Week.

There were no local jobs to apply for today and the Truck never went into Regen.

Krackers

You know you’re RV trash when your anti-sway system uses bungee cords.

  1. I would like to know what is this SNAP you refer to on occasion. No definitions found in the internet, so I have to ask.
