Early Riser, Cooking The Root and Organizing A Computer.

I don’t know why but I was wide awake and sitting at my Computer before 7:00 this morning even after laying in bed for a Half Hour. Of course it was also the morning that my Computer decided to do an Up-Date so I went and got things ready for breakfast. Being that Kathy had a hard time falling asleep it would be nearly 9:00 before she would join me.
When I was finally able to get on to The Weather Network I was just about to take a Photo of the temperature when it jumped from 43 F (6 C) to 46 F (8 C). That’s cool for this area at this time of year.
Looking outside showed that it was going to be a bright sunny day but with the Northerly Breeze the high for the day was only 61 F (16 C).
We worked together making Spaghetti and Meatballs for lunch along with a dessert plate of a Brownie, Yogurt Cup and an Orange.
We’d barely finished eating when we started cleaning up the Dishes then the Kitchen. While Kathy went back to her Computer I started cleaning and slicing a Celery Root that would become tonight’s supper. Once that was completed I started boiling it to soften it. Once it was cooked it was placed on a plate to cool because trying to finish the process at that time would have ruined everything.

We went back to the Computers. Since I was caught up on my Blog reading there was something else I needed to do. I often download Sayings, Jokes or Pictures that catch my attention. I then organize them into Folders that I have created but not always immediately. Sometimes (Most-Times) I put them all in the same Folder then go back to organize them later. It has been quite a while since that happen so I started the sorting process around 2:00 this afternoon.
Kathy finished breading and sauteing the Celery Root and served it to me right at my Computer. It wasn’t until after I ate the first piece that I thought to take a picture. As I’ve mentioned before this can be eaten as a Side, a Snack or as an a Meal. Hot or Cold it tastes delicious. Since this was a smaller sized Celery Root there were no Leftovers.

We watched the 6 o’clock Local News before watching a movie until nearly 10:00. All that time I had been reorganizing those Downloads while mostly listening to the Television. I haven’t gotten to the Halfway mark.

Tomorrow we’ll be able to make a few phone calls so we’ll know what we’ll be doing next. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Early To Bed, Early To Rise, Exercising, Organizing, Afternoon Visit, Mystery and A Cold Night.

I was tired enough after posting our Blog last night that I was in bed before 11:30. I was wide awake and looking at the Clock was 6:55. The first thing I did was to open the Balcony Door which let some refreshing 55 F (13 C) air fill the Apartment. After getting everything ready for breakfast I had barely turned on the Computers when Kathy joined me. It seems the Fresh Air woke her up.
We were sitting at our Computers with our Coffee/Tea by 7:30 which allowed us to get all our morning reading done early. With the other morning chores finished I was able to start exercising by 10:00 while Kathy went back to critique the Linen Closet. We both finished around the same time.
Once I’d cleaned up slightly Kathy had me finely chopping Celery, Onions and Tomatoes to add to the Caesars Salad she had already made. While I mixed it all together and added shredded Tex-Mex Cheese Kathy was busy reheating the last of the Pulled Pork from the other night along with making a dessert plate of Oranges, Cookies and Yogurt Cups. After cleaning up we felt stuffed but it tasted so good.

Feeling a little sticky from the workout I got a quick shower before we got ready to head out the door.

Our first destination was Guardian Storage where after checking for Mail we headed back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We’ve mentioned that we’ve been trying to downsize our belongings and Kathy found out that our daughter-in-law Jen needed a Storage Cabinet. Since it was near the front of our Unit it was tied to the back of the Truck in less then Ten Minutes.

Our next stop was Jen’s house in Essex. It was during this drive we realized we forgot the Camera at the Apartment.

We got the chance to see our grandsons Haigan and Connor along with Jen as we had a short visit outside since the temperature reached 66 F (19 C). Jen loved the Plastic Cabinet and told us she’ll be using it for additional Pantry Space. It was light enough I just put it inside the door and the boys will be able to move it for their mom. It felt strange doing Elbow Bumps instead of Hugs but we’ll keep hoping that this all passes soon.

On the way back to the Apartment we stopped at Canadian Tire to get a larger bag of Potting Soil. We located what we needed but were told we had to pay for it in the Garden Center. To get to the Garden Center you needed to enter through the Store. To enter the Store you had to get in the line of at least Fifty Social Distancing People and wait your turn. We’ll try somewhere else for the Potting Soil.
Back at the Apartment we had Backed Beans on Toast for supper. We barely finished eating before the 6 o’clock Local News came on. With a low of 43 F (6 C) tonight we’ll be closing the Windows and shutting the Fans.

While Kathy watched a movie on the Television I worked from the table doing up our Pill Doucettes. Because of the limited space it took longer then I expected to do up our Medications and Vitamins for the next Thirty Days.

We then watched a Mystery Movie to finish off the night. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Lots Accomplished, Explanations and Plans.

I got carried away reading Blogs we follow last night and didn’t make it to bed until after 1:00. Being that my norm is before midnight it didn’t surprise me when a couple hours later I was busy tossing and turning. Medical Studies show that a Half Hour variance like that will affect your sleep routine. The only thing I could do was to walk around the Apartment look out the Window then go back to bed. That One Minute walk helped me to sleep until nearly 8:00.

I had barely gotten things ready when Kathy joined me for breakfast. The only plans we had were all around the Apartment so we settled in at the Computers to have our Coffee/Tea. Looking outside and checking The Weather Network it was certain we would be getting more Rain today so I didn’t sit too long.
By 10:00 my inside chores were finished and I headed outside to take pictures of the Truck’s Manufacturing Tag. For some reason the first time I did that the Tag was out of focus.

Ten Minutes later I was back in the Apartment working on shaping the Screen to go over the outside of the Air Conditioner Sleeve. For those that live in a House you will either have a Central Air Conditioner that circulates the air through your Duct Work or you have a Window Unit. In most High Rise Apartment Buildings (Four Stories or more) they have a Sleeve going through the outer wall that you the tenant inserts a Sleeve Type Air Conditioner. They cost more but our meant for these applications. Don’t get cheap and put a Window Unit in because the Sleeve will not let it breath properly and will start a Fire. Once the edges of the Screen were bent up it slipped right over the outside of the Sleeve. The Duct Tape we purchased the other day sealed it perfectly thus keeping Pollen, Seeds and Bugs from getting in the Apartment and clogging the AC.

Kathy had been busy rearranging our Linen Closet. Towels, Winter and Summer Sheets had been getting mixed so using a technique she found on You Tube we now have plenty of space and all the sets are together.
Hard to see but it is Raining.
We hadn’t started making lunch when the Clouds started drenching everything in sight. The Rain was actually bouncing a couple feet off the pavement.
Kathy made Lou’s Kitchen Pulled Pork Sandwiches for lunch. Someone asked a while back where they were made. According to the label Lou’s Kitchen is located out of Stoney Creek, Ontario Canada. The best part is there’s enough for another Sandwich each. We also had our dessert plates to round off our meal.

Since it was still Raining I went back to the Computer and added all our Medications we picked up from our Pharmacist in Amherstburg yesterday onto our Medication Spreadsheet that I keep track of every Tablet, Pill or Capsule we have in our possession. The Rain had finally stopped but I started getting all our Receipts logged into our Expenditure Spreadsheet to keep track of our spending.
Today's afternoon temps.
It was nearly 4:00 when I had everything Saved and Backed Up. While I was reading a few more of the Blogs we follow from this morning it was Kathy that needed a Snap.
While Kathy made the dessert plate with an Apple that we shared, a Yogurt Cup and Fruit Cake I was busy making us an Omelette that had finely diced Onion and Celery with Cheddar Cheese that we shared.
Clear evening.
Watching the 6 o’clock Local News we were told that we’ll be actually seeing Spring Temperatures for a few days. We watched an NCIS episode for something different. Tomorrow we’ll be seeing our daughter-in-law in the afternoon. Let you know about that then. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Rain, Pharmacy Run, and More Then One Change Of Plans.

Before going to bed last night I closed the Balcony Door for security reasons but left the Bedroom Window open to help keep us cool even though I knew there was a chance of Rain. Neither of us had any problem sleeping because we also had the Tower Fan blowing on us. As forecasted I woke to a Hard Rain hitting the open Window around 6:20. Since that is my side of the bed I had the Window shut in a flash without even disconnecting from my CPAP Machine. That made me sleep until 8:10 this morning.
Kathy has been waking shortly after I get up lately which is surprising. She was surprised when I told her about the Rain earlier. We discussed what we needed to do today before heading to our Computers. I also called Pharma Choice to verify our Thirty Day Supply of Medications was ready for pick up.
Planes parked at the Airport.
Checking The Weather Network the Radar showed plenty of Storm Cells heading our way with a break during the afternoon.
For lunch we had Macaroni with Cheese then added Cookies, an Orange and Yogurt Cup for dessert. It was only 12:30 when we were on our way out the door. It’s been some time since we’ve used the Truck so this would give it a good run.
Our destination was our drug store in Amherstburg. Even though the weather looked threatening we were enjoying being out of the Apartment. We took Walker Road all the way to Pike Road then headed across to Pharma Care. They are now open so I went inside while Kathy waited in the Truck. They had Distancing Lines marked on the floor as well as a Hand Sanitizing Station to use. Everything was already bagged and waiting. I was out in Two Minutes.
We stopped at the local Dollarama because Kathy wanted a larger Flower Pot for her Kayla Lillies. There was no line outside so we took our time checking to see if there was anything different at this location. We did find a few more food stocks to bring home to try.
Looking across the road towards Walmart there must have been Fifty or more people waiting to get inside because the line extended nearly to the road.
We drove over to our son Kevin’s house so I could check if there was a problem with our Garden Shed since it is located in the lower corner of the yard. Everything looked good and dry so we left without knocking at the door because we hadn’t called ahead to visit. He might not have even known we were even there.
We took Highway 18 back to Windsor going through Two separate Construction Zones in the process. It felt good to be back in the Truck. It ran perfectly and even had the chance to run through a Regen Cycle. As we passed our local Zehr’s grocery store near home their line up was as bad as Walmart in Amherstburg so we just headed back to the Apartment.
We weren’t feeling very hungry so we had Grilled Ham and Cheese on a Bun along with an Orange and Chocolate Croissant for dessert.
Driving through McGregor.
Watching the 6 o’clock Local News the Meteorologist showed how the Storm Cells had changed direction and we could expect Rain for the entire day tomorrow. I changed my mind about going for groceries first thing in the morning because I would probably get very wet.
Our high today was much cooler.
When the News ended at 7:00 Kathy stayed home while I headed to the Zehr’s grocery store. There weren’t that many people shopping by then so I managed to get all the food items on my Grocery List but couldn’t find Dish Soap. Our Bank Account was much lighter when I headed back to the Apartment.
Yesterday's Grilled Salmon Patty with Salad.
Kathy and I had everything put away by 9:30. One of the Comments on yesterday’s Blog asked where we found the Salmon Patties we grilled. The answer is you make them. Clean the contents of a can of Salmon, add an Egg, Bread Crumbs, Finely Chopped Onions and Celery. Mix thoroughly, shape into Patties and grill in the Frying Pan. They are delicious.

Kathy was watching Forensic Files while I was gone so it took longer then expected to write this Blog. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
