Appointment, Businesses Reopening and A Christmas Movie.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even though we spent Mothers Day at home talking to family we were so worn out by the end of the day that we slept in this morning. It was nearly 9:00 by the time we sat down to have our Muffins for breakfast.
This seems to be our typical Spring mornings.
Since the sky was once again filled with Clouds along with the temperature not expected to get out of the Thirties we weren’t making any Plans. We simply settled in at the Computers enjoying our morning Hot Drinks.
After accomplishing our morning chores we also remembered that we had an Appointment so we put together a quick but filling lunch. Today we had Macaroni and Cheese along with Cookies, a Yogurt Cup and an Orange that we shared for dessert.
We arrived at our Accountant’s Office well before our appointed time probably due to the lack of Traffic compared to what we normally have to deal with. Not knowing what we should be doing we waited in the Lobby while wearing our Masks since all the office doors were locked. At exactly the appointed time Kelly appeared with all our paperwork. After a few signatures we were soon on our way with our completed Income Tax Returns that will be E-Filed by the end of the day.

With the feeling of freedom by just being out of the Apartment we needed to make a few stops. The first was place was Home Depot but when we saw the line of customers wanting to get in the store doubled back in front of the store. Since the stores are just starting to open up to the public they are under strict Guidelines they must follow so we kept going.

Next we went to Dollarama where we had a small list of things to pick up. The minute we parked the Car we knew this was no longer business as usual. Wearing our Masks we were Tenth in line to enter the store as they were only allowing so many people inside at a time. When One came out One went in. The person at the door instructed us to follow the Arrows on the floor and to practice Social Distancing. Most people stuck to the rules but there were others that only thought about themselves. We left with everything we needed saving money on our grocery bill.

Still needing some things from the Hardware Department we drove over to Canadian Tire. The line of people waiting to get in that store was longer then the one at Home Depot. I simply said we’d go back another time but Kathy had another idea.
We went to the Home Hardware store not far from our Apartment. It’s not very large and chances of getting everything on our List was slim. Fortunately we were only Fourth to go inside as they were also limiting people inside. Again we had our Masks on and when we went inside we were assigned a Customer Assistant to help us find what we were looking for. That meant we were not having to search the entire store trying to figure out where things were located. We walked out with everything on our List.
Hard to see In-Store Shopping Limit of 5 People.
Back at the Apartment we carried everything rather than having to return a Shopping Cart. By the time we had everything put away it was already after 4:00.
We again waited until after the 6 o’clock Local News was over before having supper. Kathy made us French Toast that she later topped off with a Frozen Yogurt Sundae for dessert. After the Dishes were cleaned and put away we settled in to watch a Christmas Movie. It is just over Seven Months away. LOL! We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
Krackers

A local coal miner's avocation was painting, but he couldn't afford to buy canvasses. Instead, he painted on the walls of his small cottage. Unfortunately, a gang of youths broke into his cottage and defaced his paintings. The young miscreants were charged in court with having "corrupted the murals of a miner."

  2. Catching up, sounds like Kathy had a wonderful Mother's Day. Happy Belated Mother's Day, Kathy.
My problem with all the one way aisles at Walmart is if you skip an aisle, which I often do, you find yourself going the wrong way...LOL

  3. Looks like you guys accomplished many things today. I hear Home Depot is having the same challenges in the US as you are having in Canada.

  4. A personal assistant ... now that's a good idea!! My accountant just sends me an email that I virtually sign, then mails the final copies. I don't even have to go in to the office. It's such a small town here that they never have very many customers at once ... thank goodness. No waiting in line.

  5. The other day we realized we were going the "wrong direction" only one other person coming down the aisle and she said "OH don't worry about it..I"m not the aisle police" and then she smiled. Now we have to be told which way to go..geezzz

  6. We went to Lowes yesterday. No lines to follow, no one stopping people from entering. We were only in the garden center. Lots of people buying plants. Also went to UPS store to return the Colonguard box that Len had to fill (eeewwww). There were taped X's on floor where to stand waiting for the clerk.

Oh I will be glad when (if) this ever gets over.

  7. I love that idea of a personal assistant. Hopefully more stores will take that idea and run with it. Less people in the store and quicker service means safer for everyone. A win win situation. Please let this not be our new normal. I do believe that we are all opening up way too fast.

  8. We finally got rid of those long lines to get in about a week ago. They still count customers in and out but the number allowed inside at once is big enough now I seldom wait for more than a minute.
