Well Rested, Leaving Voice Mail, Golf Tournament Gesture and Fixer Upper Mystery.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Early to bed but late to rise that’s what happened to us guys. We were both in bed before midnight but I had to get up for a few minutes last night. Not for that reason. It’s hard to believe that with everything I’ve been exposed to throughout my career that I find there is one thing that I’m allergic to Silicone. Why that is so notable is that our CPAP Masks are made with Silicone causing my face to nearly bleed from the reaction. To fix the problem I have to use what are called Mask Liners which is a piece of Cotton that fits between the Mask and my face. Last night the Liner somehow moved and with the air being fed through the Mask started tickling my face. After resetting the Liner it didn’t take long to fall back to sleep.

All that excitement meant that it was past 8:30 before I got up this morning. I was still in the process of opening the Balcony Blinds when Kathy joined me. She had to wait so that I could serve breakfast.

It was cloudy all day but notice the White is disappearing.

The friend from out of town we were supposed to meet up with this past week didn’t call to verify our meeting time for today. When I called his number I was only able to leave a voice mail. The only thing we could do was to work on our Computers to pass the time in hopes he’d call back.

We had Chicken and Rice Soup for lunch along with Orange Slices, Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Chocolate Pudding Cup for dessert.

After returning to the Computers I again tried reaching our friend with no luck.

Our 6 o’clock Local News was pre-empted by a Golf Tournament. It was announced that all the players were wearing Red Shirts along with Black Pants and Caps as a gesture of support to Tiger Woods who is still in Hospital after last Sunday’s Automobile Accident. The Clothing Colours are those that Woods traditionally wears to all Tournaments he plays in.

For supper we finished the Leftover Pepper Steak from yesterday. Since we had also saved all the juice from the Crock Pot it was more like we were eating a Stew. We also enjoyed a Yogurt Cup for dessert.

We were able to watch a “Fixer Upper Mystery”. This is the second episode of this series that we’ve watched. This was released in 2016 and like other Murder Mystery Series we’ve seen many of the characters are played by Actors and Actresses from the Hallmark Movies.

We also watched “Criminal Minds” before watching the 11 o’clock Local News out of London. They spoke about a number of things including a water rescue and a fire in London before talking about the Coronavirus. In the Windsor/Essex region we have 30 New Cases bringing the Active Cases to 275 with no new Deaths keeping the Total Deaths at 382. Windsor was the warm spot in the province today with 55 F (13 C) breaking an old record.

Not sure what tomorrow will bring but I don’t expect to be staying in.

Restless, Job Applications, Exercising and Murder Mystery.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Getting to bed slightly before midnight is starting to become a habit for me. I was certainly asleep by the witching hour but staring at the ceiling Two hours later. I finally got up an Hour later and took a Regular Strength Tylenol hoping to just relax. Rather then returning to bed just to toss around uncomfortably I sat in the dark in my Recliner without even turning on my Computer. The only thing I focused on was the Digital Clock across the room watching the time go by One Minute at a time. When my focus showed the time had moved by Five Minutes instead of One I knew it was time to go back to bed.

Even though I did sleep later then normal besides getting things ready for breakfast I had already applied for Two Jobs before Kathy joined me.

Even after reading all the recent Blogs this morning on our Sidebar the Sun had not totally shown itself. Looking outside lawns in the neighbourhood were starting to look a little more Green.

Moments after having Chicken and Rice Soup for lunch we had Maple Cookies, Orange Slices along with Yogurt Cups for dessert. The Sun finally filled the sky.

While our Coffee/Tea cooled a bit we worked together cleaning the Dishes before working together to ready things for the Crock Pot to cook supper. Kathy cleaned up the Peppers and Potatoes while I did the Onions. Celery as well as the Steak. I’ve mentioned before that by cubing the Steak while it’s still frozen is easier than if it’s thawed. The meat keeps its shape making it easier to handle. You only need a very sharp knife to do the trick.

Back at the Computers there were Two More Jobs to apply for. We turned on the US News Media to see what is happening as well as allowing us to see what might be of interest to watch later in the day. Listening to the News didn’t stop me from getting some exercise in.

Supper was basically Pepper Steak with the Peppers and Potato for sides. Normally Kathy will serve the Steak on a bed of Rice or Egg Noodles so this was a change. We topped the meal off with Orange Slices, Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Chocolate Pudding Cup for dessert.

There was a Golf Tournament on earlier this afternoon but amazingly it ended on time for the 6 o’clock Local News out of London to come on. They spoke about the Vaccines and the 50 F (10 C) temperature we had today but gave no information on Coronavirus Numbers in Ontario.

We watched the “Aurora Teasdale Murder Mystery” on channel Thirteen this evening. It had a lot of twists and turns to the plot. This movie was released in 2015 and like the other Two other Murder Mystery Series we occasionally see they star a lot of the Actors and Actresses normally seen on the Hallmark Movies. Another mystery to solve.

Repeat, More Applications and Men In Black.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

This is really starting to sound like a repeat of the last few days. We both managed to sleep so well that we slept in again. We are so looking forward to when we can be not only walking around without being bundled up but being able to ride our Tandem Bicycle around the city.

Even after applying for a Three more jobs today it leaves me wondering why it’s not happening. One of the jobs I applied for actually stated that they do not discriminate against anyone for the Eight Categories including Age.

We've added Two Hours and One Minute between
Sunrise and Sunset since December 21st 2020

The day started out below the Freezing Mark but would eventually reach 39 F (4 C). Looking at the piles of Sxxw in the parking lots melting to a fraction of their original sizes makes you wonder why people’s lawns are still covered with only the grass around the base of trees being clear.

Wanting something different I made Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Olives for garnishing. We then finished the Leftover Lemon Meringue Pie for dessert.

After we cleaned up the Dishes we again settled in at the Computers until “Law and Order” came on. Even though they state these are fictional cases you still learn a lot from them.

We made Chinese Food for supper that we picked up from the Frozen Food Section at the grocery store. We had Chicken Rice along with Sweet and Sour Pork along with Orange Slices, Cookies then Yogurt Cups for dessert.

On the 6 o’clock Local News they first spoke about how the Coronavirus Vaccines will be distributed across Canada. Kathy will be eligible for her first shot after May 1st and I’ll be eligible for mine after July 1st of this year. There is still concern about its efficacy against the Variant Strains.

Today there was 1 Death in the Windsor/Essex region bringing the total to 379 with 32 New Cases bringing the Active Case Count to 261 for the area.

We later watched “Men In Black II” with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

With warmer temperatures and a chance of Showers for the next couple of days we are hoping things will become more Springlike soon.

The bartender says “Oh the peanuts are complimentary.”

I Blinked, Early Shopping and More Cases.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

It was strange that I would look at the Clock just before 7:00 this morning only to Blink and wake nearly Two Hours later. I hate when that happens. I barely started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me.

The Snow is melting and the Ice  is flowing.

Last night we had discussed what we would try to do first thing this morning but made certain not to Plan because we know what happens them. We only had cereal totally skipping our morning Coffee/Tea so we could be out the door by 9:30 with our List in hand. Even though we were far from starving we were missing out on a lot of essential food stocks that needed to be replaced.

Our first stop was to Dollarama to help stretch our Food Budget. Luckily there was no Line Up outside and there were few people inside. The One person who refused to wear their Mask was escorted out. Other then a couple of Eraser Tapes everything we purchased was groceries. It was nearly 10:00 before we loaded our purchases into the Car.

Next we headed over to the Zehr’s grocery store to finish our shopping. Since lots of working people in the area get their groceries on Thursday there were a lot of workers stocking the shelves. We got all our Fruits, Vegetables, Meats, Dairy and Frozen Foods with little problem. There were no empty shelves plus all the Canopies above the shelves were filled with stock ready to fill any spot that might occur.

Arriving back at our building we were happy to have bought our Two Wheeled Shopping Cart to help us haul everything upstairs to our Apartment. After a recent inspection by the Windsor Fire Department they found Shopping Carts spread in the hallways on all levels of the building. If there was an emergency the Shopping Carts would become a hazard to the Firefighters. All those Carts have been returned to the stores they came from. Even though Kathy pushed our Cart and my Hands were filled I still had to return for a second load.

It was past noon when Kathy finished putting our Frozen Foods in the Freezer and perishables in the Fridge. We were both tired and hungry so we stopped putting things away so we could have lunch. We had a Medium Store Bought Thin Crust Parisian Pizza with extra Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Even the Nutritional Experts say Pizza makes great breakfast food and breakfast is now becoming an any time meal.

We took the time to enjoy our first Coffee/Tea of the day while checking our On-Line Messages. At that point I managed to apply for Three Jobs. Hopefully now our area is no longer in Lock-Down I’ll have a better chance of getting one.

It took another Hour to get all our canned goods put away as well as transferring snacks to Seal Tight Containers so we aren’t feeding the ants.

We again watched Three episodes of Law and Order.

Not our high temp.

For the 6 o’clock Local News they reported 2 more Coronavirus Deaths bringing the Windsor/Essex total to 378. They also reported 34 New Cases bringing the Active Cases to 260. Today’s high temperature only reached 39 F (4 C) but to most Canadians that feels like Spring.

For our late supper we had Perogies with Sour Cream and Shredded Mozzarella Cheese along with Bacon as a side.

We settled in at the Computers leaving the noise of the Television off.

Change Of Change Of Change Of Plans, Seeing Green and Vaccines Are Coming.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I’ve mentioned this before that when I get to bed early I generally sleep late. That’s what happened last night into this morning.

What it looked like last evening.

After getting things ready for breakfast I barely had the chance to check The Weather Network when Kathy joined me. We had toast with Peanut Butter as a change. When I mentioned today’s forecasted high Kathy became excited.

I received notice that another of my Job Applications was being reviewed by the Employer. There was another button that allowed me to see all the Jobs I had applied for along with their status. I noticed that there were only some of all the ones I had applied for and most were well over a Month old. None of the recent posting were showing so I tried sending a message to them at the Website listed. Each time I did I would get a message saying that Indeed.Com did not exist.

By lunchtime today,

We had made Plans to meet someone today but when they called before noon to say they couldn’t make it until Sunday we understood and changed our Plans.

Notice the Blustery Winds.

Looking outside we noticed layers of accumulation had suddenly disappeared between the vehicles in the parking lot with the only thing remaining were the piles made by the Plow.

For our late lunch we had Italian Wedding Soup along with the last of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake that Kathy made the other day for dessert.

We changed our Plans again before spending part of the afternoon doing research. Looking outside there were patches of Green Grass appearing around the base of Trees throughout the adjoining neighbourhood.

Less the Two Hours later.
Winds decreasing.

We then watched Three episodes of Law and Order just before our 6 o’clock Local News came on.

After giving us a Time Table of approximately when we’ll be able to get our Vaccines they gave us today’s numbers. Even though Cases are dropping today we had 49 New Coronavirus Cases in the Windsor/Essex region bringing the Total Active Cases to 268. Fortunately there were no new Deaths keeping the total at 376. Our temperature went higher then expected reaching 50 F (10 C) but we’ll be dropping back to Seasonal Temperatures for a couple of days. We could see warmer temperatures again for the weekend.

Our late late supper was simply Macaroni and Cheese along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert.

After cleaning up the Dishes and Kitchen we later watched a new series to us called Bull as well as Nancy Drew. The first was interesting when they use not only Computers but Physiology to prove their case. Nancy Drew is not what we read as when we were growing up. This one contains a lot of Supernatural things happening behind the scenes.

We’re not making Plans for tomorrow so maybe we’ll get things done.

It’s Melting, Changed Plans, Problem Resolved, Chores and Tiger Woods.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I was back to having a good sleep last night and only remembered rolling over One Time. When Kathy joined me for breakfast she said she woke about Four Times but would fall back to sleep as soon as she rolled over. We suspect that since the outside temperature never dipped below the Freezing Mark through the night we didn’t feel the cold inside.

Looking out the Balcony Door this morning we were both happy see that the piles created by the plow was melting. Looking down the street behind the building we were starting to see the curbs. Truly a sign that things are warming up.

While sitting at the Computers enjoying our Coffee/Tea I mentioned something that concerned me about the Trailer. All the years we lived in it Kathy did a lot of polishing and dusting that I didn’t know about because I was generally working on the outside. Suddenly our Plans changed and we were soon heading out the door.

The Truck fire right up and we were soon heading to Guardian Storage. Of course just as we were turning onto Jefferson Avenue the Train Crossing Guards came down and a slow moving Freight Train started crawling across. Not Planning on spending the morning waiting we turned onto the Expressway then exiting at Central. We added a couple of Miles to our arrival but we saved time.

Arriving near the Trailer I was surprised how much the snow drift next to it had melted away. Kathy was surprised that there was a natural path all around the unit that was clear. Once inside we no longer felt the Wind Gusts that made the temperature feel cold. After a quick glance Kathy pulled out the Furniture Polish she had stuffed in her pocket. The problem that worried me was simply Fifteen Months of no TLC.

We were back in the Apartment by 11:30. While Kathy recreated the Leftover Pineapple Pepper Chicken and Sides from yesterday’s supper I started stripping the bed. I managed to gather the rest of the Laundry before lunch was ready. As with all the dishes that Kathy recreates it all tasted great. She topped it off with a piece of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

After enjoying lunch I finished my chore of sorting and pretreating our clothes I finally arrived at the Second Floor Laundry Room just after 1:00. With the One Washer still “Out of Order” after Two Weeks I had to take One Load down to the First Floor Laundry Room. Since I had to wring water out our our Bed Sheets the last time I chose a different Washer this time.

What goes in must come out so I headed back to the Apartment for relief. Kathy had just finished cleaning the Dishes and was Planning on working on her Photos again but she wanted some background noise so she turned on the US News Media while I was there. There was an Investigation going on about the lack of preparedness that preceded the Capital Insurrection. I headed back to the Laundry Room while Kathy put fresh Bed Sheets on the bed.

Once I transferred the Laundry to the Dryers I headed back to the Apartment so I could breath some fresh air by taking my Mask off. I was going to get caught up on the Blogs I read when suddenly they had Breaking News about Tiger Woods having been in a Single Vehicle Accident and was already in Surgery. We would later find out it happened around 10:30 our time.

The Dryer cycle lasts an Hour so I was back downstairs folding the Clothes as I took it out. While I was doing that I started thinking what we could have for supper. When I walked back in the Apartment at 5:30 I was sweating and needed more fresh air. The fact that it reached the mid Forties might have had something to do with it. Sitting down for a break Kathy suggested having exactly what I had thought about for supper.

We had a Store Bought Thin Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza for supper and since Kathy thought I worked so hard she topped it off with another piece of Pineapple Upside Down Cake for dessert. We topped it all off by sharing a bottle of Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) as our refreshment.

The 6 o’clock Local News came on before we started eating but I managed to catch that there were 32 New Coronavirus Cases as well as 3 more Deaths bringing the local count to 376. The Provincial Government is now in the process of distributing more Vaccines for Essential Workers before they start taking care of the general population. We can expect a few more days of above normal temperatures before the weekend.

I finally got around to read Blogs and Comments on our post. I’ll try to get the Local Case Count tomorrow Katie so you won’t have to worry about your dad. At present our numbers have all been going down but with the New Variants popping up all around us it is wise to be safe.

We have Plans but not sure what will happen tomorrow as we all know Plans change.

Awake, Second Incident Location, Running The Truck and Checking The Trailer.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to Enlarge.

Before shutting down my Computer last night I was surprised to see the Temperature was at the highest it had been all day. I almost felt like cheering but figured it would scare Kathy sleeping in the other room. Being above the Freezing Mark is everyone’s dream when it comes to RVing and once you feel that way it never goes away.

After having had a good workout and a satisfying day when I looked at the Clock at 2:00 I was wondering why I was still awake. Finally I couldn’t stand it any longer and got up. The first thing I did was to take a Tylenol Night-Time to relax. Being wide awake I needed to relax so turned on the Computer. Eye Strain is a great way for making yourself tired. Still not feeling tired I headed back to bed shortly after 4:00. The next time I looked at the Clock it was after 8:00 and I felt refreshed.

Looking out the Balcony Door even with all the White Landscape it just appeared Cloudy and Drab. The Temperature had again increased so hopefully that would make a noticeable difference on the remaining accumulation piles outside.

I was ready for breakfast before turning on the Computers. There were jobs for short-order cooks but nothing in my trade within Two Hundred Miles.

After we ate I finally got to checking Blogs we follow on our Sidebar and Comments left by some of our readers. On yesterday’s US News Media they mentioned where the second failed Plane Engine was but I was reading another Blog and did not get the location. When I double checked this morning they stated it was a Cargo Boeing 747 over the Netherlands approximately Two Hours after the Colorado incident happened. Unfortunately people were seriously hurt by the falling Debris in the second incident.

The problem is not with the Planes themselves but with the Pratt/Whitney Jet Engines. When news of the Two Incidents was released a number of Countries grounded all their Planes with those Engines.

We both wanted to accomplish a few things today so we worked together getting things ready for the Crock Pot to make supper. While I chopped the Vegetables Kathy prepped the Chicken and added Spices. This was a recipe that she found On-line but other then one ingredient it was very similar to her Pepper Steak. The other difference was the Meat.

For lunch we had Italian Wedding Soup along with Maple Cookies, Yogurt Cups and a Shared Apple for dessert.

Having watched a number of Walkers dressed for cold weather down on the Ganatchio Trail shortly after lunch I bundle up to go outside. Since we are not travelling nor am I presently employed we have not been driving too far. Also since it is easier to get around the city with the Car the Truck has been sitting for so long the Batteries are too weak to start it. Luckily we’ve been able to park them next to one another so I was able to use the Car to boost the Truck.

Once the Truck was running I drove to Guardian Storage for a few reasons. The first was to collect our Mail. Since the office was open today I was able to pay our Fee before going to check on the Trailer. Having brought my Spare Key I never shut it off.

With a large Drift only feet from the door I was surprised that it was like a walkway around the entire Trailer. I even checked the Roof making certain there was no unforeseen problems developing. With the Thirty-Two MPH Wind Gusts I felt froze through by the time I got back in the Truck.

Back at the Apartment Kathy had been busy sorting old printed Photographs we had stored. There were pictures of people’s backs or things that were out of focus or people that she had no clue who they were. Those Pictures made their way to the Recycle Bin.

Kathy had also been baking while I was gone using up Leftover Ingredients she made a wonderful Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

Supper was a big success with Pineapple Pepper Chicken and Potatoes along with a piece of Cake for dessert.

On the 6 o’clock Local News we learned of 14 New Coronavirus Cases along with 1 more Death bringing the total to 373 for the Windsor/Essex region. The Weather will be up and down for the next couple of days but within the week we could be seeing temperatures in the low Forties.

After cleaning up the Kitchen and Dishes we watched another Garage Sale Mysteries this evening.

Not sure what we’ll be up to tomorrow.
