We
both slept better last night but I still managed to be up before
8:00. I had gotten things ready for breakfast, opened the Balcony
Blinds and had just sat down to look at the Weather Radar when
the phone went off. Of course I had forgotten to bring our cordless
phone with me so by the time it was answered Kathy was awake. When
the person said it was time to get our ducts cleaned I was so
frustrated I could only hang up. When Kathy asked who it was I still
couldn’t answer until I calmed down.Frosted Car Windows and House Roofs.
There’s
a Law in Canada that if
you tell Telemarketers to remove your number from their
calling lists they can actually face hefty Fines
by not doing so. When we lived in the other apartment before going
Fulltime I was told by a Telemarketer for a Lawn
Care Company that I was lying when he was told we lived in
an apartment. After I submitted the complaint Two Weeks passed
when I received a call from the President of the Company that
he represented apologizing for the call and guarantying that I would
not receive any further calls and we never did. Unfortunately that
only lasts for Five Years.Clouds filling the sky.
After having breakfast we only spent a little time on the Computer because the Radar and The Weather Network showed a humongous Winter Storm heading our way.
We had Italian Wedding Soup for an early lunch as well as a Shared Apple and Chocolate Covered Wafer. I convinced Kathy we didn’t need the Apple Sauce as a third dessert.
With this being Thursday our first stop was the small Shoppers Drug Mart not far from us. It seems that people are finally realizing that Vitamins can help to keep them healthy so some of the ones I was looking for were out of stock. I did the only thing I could and that was get what they had and go to another Shoppers Drug Mart nearby. The beauty of getting the Vitamins on Thursday is Seniors receive Twenty Percent Discount on all their purchases.
From
there we headed for Guardian Storage.
As we approached the yard a Semi was just pulling in the yard
so I followed which allowed us to see the Trailer was still
secure with no visual Problems. We then swung
around to the Office where we
collected our Mail.
One good thing about these Lock-Downs is that it has increased our Fuel Mileage to Two Months per Tank of gas. With this Storm heading our way we stopped at Pioneer gas station and topped up the Car at $.979 per Litre ($3.90 US Gallon).
Our next stop was Dollarama where we picked up what Food Stocks we could to keep our costs down.
Driving
over to the Bulk Barn we picked
up our snacks (Dates, Nuts and Raisins) at lower
prices then the grocery store. That Flag is Twenty Feet by Sixty Feet.
Finally we went next door to the Zehr’s grocery store where we searched for bargains. Being Thursday all the shelves were being filled so we managed to get everything on our list. Since we’ve been using up our stock today proved to be costly.
It was past 4:00 when we finished loading the Car and we knew we’d be tired after putting everything away so we went out for supper. It’s been over a month so we used the Drive-Thru at Burger King and got Two Original Chicken Sandwiches for $6.00. Since our area is still in Lock-Down we ate in the Car before continuing home. They were satisfying, tasty and raised our energy levels.
After Eight Stops it was 4:30 by the time we got everything in the Apartment. We stopped to watch the 6 o’clock Local News. Only 2 deaths and 60 New Coronavirus Cases today. It seems there are more delays happening with the Moderna Vaccines.
When their Weather Guesser said it was turning White outside I had to check. There had only been traces leftover from Flurries earlier in the week when we got back but Two Hours later everything was in fact White with about a Two Inch Accumulation on all the vehicles.
Prior to the Outbreak of the Coronavirus all our cabinets were organized but as time went on more groceries just got stuck where there was a spot available. I returned to the kitchen and took all the Canned Goods, Jars and Packages out. By the time I finished all the Soup, Vegetables, Condiments and Baking Supplies were together on their own pullouts.
The Wind has picked up and the Building Manager has been out plowing the Parking Lot a few times already.

What did the owl say to the squirrel who knocked on his door?
“Who? Who?”
Your snow started earlier than ours which didn't come until the wee hours. No travel today for us though.
ReplyDeleteI like your fuel prices better than ours right now.
There is a Do Not Call List that people can add their telephone number to. The link is: https://lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/en/Consumer/Register-your-number/#!/ Literally 3 clicks and they can no longer call you. I add everyone in our family regularly (it lasts a few years before it needs to be renewed). Note that it takes a few weeks to take effect.
ReplyDeleteWho actually ever listens to those annoying telemarketers sales pitches, I wonder. Good thing you went yesterday to do your shopping as today with the blowing snow in those high winds being outside is totally awful.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have so many stores available to you. Glad you were able to get your shopping done before all that snow hit your area.
ReplyDeleteYes that's a lot of stops! Hate telemarketers! Our gas is going up here now. Sure was nice enjoying the lower prices the last year or so. Cleaned out my cabinets yesterday, but was all the tupperware like stuff LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe do not call lists seem to be not very effective. I've been on it for years, and from time to time, receive barrages of calls. The most frequent seem to be about my car needing to update it's warranty. Haha. I have a 2004 Honda Element. They don't have a clue.
ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted reading this post. Fuel here in Kelowna BC is now 126.9 per litre. Way too high. As you said, good thing we aren't driving much these days.
