I Blinked, Early Shopping and More Cases.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

It was strange that I would look at the Clock just before 7:00 this morning only to Blink and wake nearly Two Hours later. I hate when that happens. I barely started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me.

The Snow is melting and the Ice  is flowing.

Last night we had discussed what we would try to do first thing this morning but made certain not to Plan because we know what happens them. We only had cereal totally skipping our morning Coffee/Tea so we could be out the door by 9:30 with our List in hand. Even though we were far from starving we were missing out on a lot of essential food stocks that needed to be replaced.

Our first stop was to Dollarama to help stretch our Food Budget. Luckily there was no Line Up outside and there were few people inside. The One person who refused to wear their Mask was escorted out. Other then a couple of Eraser Tapes everything we purchased was groceries. It was nearly 10:00 before we loaded our purchases into the Car.

Next we headed over to the Zehr’s grocery store to finish our shopping. Since lots of working people in the area get their groceries on Thursday there were a lot of workers stocking the shelves. We got all our Fruits, Vegetables, Meats, Dairy and Frozen Foods with little problem. There were no empty shelves plus all the Canopies above the shelves were filled with stock ready to fill any spot that might occur.

Arriving back at our building we were happy to have bought our Two Wheeled Shopping Cart to help us haul everything upstairs to our Apartment. After a recent inspection by the Windsor Fire Department they found Shopping Carts spread in the hallways on all levels of the building. If there was an emergency the Shopping Carts would become a hazard to the Firefighters. All those Carts have been returned to the stores they came from. Even though Kathy pushed our Cart and my Hands were filled I still had to return for a second load.

It was past noon when Kathy finished putting our Frozen Foods in the Freezer and perishables in the Fridge. We were both tired and hungry so we stopped putting things away so we could have lunch. We had a Medium Store Bought Thin Crust Parisian Pizza with extra Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Even the Nutritional Experts say Pizza makes great breakfast food and breakfast is now becoming an any time meal.

We took the time to enjoy our first Coffee/Tea of the day while checking our On-Line Messages. At that point I managed to apply for Three Jobs. Hopefully now our area is no longer in Lock-Down I’ll have a better chance of getting one.

It took another Hour to get all our canned goods put away as well as transferring snacks to Seal Tight Containers so we aren’t feeding the ants.

We again watched Three episodes of Law and Order.

Not our high temp.

For the 6 o’clock Local News they reported 2 more Coronavirus Deaths bringing the Windsor/Essex total to 378. They also reported 34 New Cases bringing the Active Cases to 260. Today’s high temperature only reached 39 F (4 C) but to most Canadians that feels like Spring.

For our late supper we had Perogies with Sour Cream and Shredded Mozzarella Cheese along with Bacon as a side.

We settled in at the Computers leaving the noise of the Television off.

You Might Be a Redneck If

You helped your cousin move his refrigerator and the grass underneath it has turned yellow.

  1. We love pierogies. Could not find any locally. I guess they are not popular in Alabama. Finally I checked the website of Mrs. T. AHA! Up in Decatur at Krogers about 40 miles away. We make the trip and got loaded up.

You must have had a lot of canned goods to take an hour to put away.

  2. I picked up perogies yesterday too. Love love but Brad doesn't each cheese so Potato and Onion is the only one we both like.

  3. The worst part of grocery shopping for me is putting them away! That pie looks yummy!

  6. Tom and I keep hopping that one of the jobs you apply for will result in a job in the near future. The best part about grocery shopping is when the last thing bought is put away. Stay safe.
