The fact that my Eyes were closing on me while posting the Blog was a sign of just how tired I was last night. I didn’t even remember laying down in bed. What I did remember were the Birds singing their songs welcoming the Sun and a start to another day. At least it was only 7:30 when that happened so it was easier to recover.

Kathy joined me downstairs shortly after 8:00 where we finished the last of our Rhubarb Sauce we made last week by using it as a spread on Toast. Even with her appointment this morning we had time to enjoy one Coffee/Tea while sitting at the Computers.
Having parked our Truck in the Overflow Parking Area last night meant that I didn’t have to rush to do it this morning. That also opened our second parking spot on our Site for Mary from Healthy Heals to be able to park. She was right on time after having to reschedule Kathy’s appointments Two Weeks in a row. The first time being that her 91 year old Mother had fallen and had been rushed to the Emergency. The second time was due to spending Nine Hours with her Mother in Emergency she had picked up a bug and was extremely sick herself.

Due to Kathy’s Diabetes this treatment is covered by our Health Care Provider but when we travel to the US it is not. That is when I take over. Mary showed me how to do it years back and we even have our own tools to do it that are only used on Kathy’s feet. When we return to Windsor I let Mary have her job back. She is a Registered Nurse specially trained in Foot-Care and can spot things that I might otherwise miss. It was close to 12:30 when she left and Kathy’s Feet felt much better and pain-free.
While I readied the Italian Wedding Soup for lunch Kathy made us a Chicken Sandwich that we shared along with a scoop of Coleslaw and a Pudding Cup for dessert.

Kathy wanted to check our accounts before we left so I walked to the Park Exercise Room. I felt much better once I had finished my routine but I didn’t walk back to the Trailer. Instead I walkover to the Overflow Parking Area and drove the Truck back to our Site where we can be certain nothing happens to it.

Minutes later we were heading out of the Park heading for Windsor. Our first stop was Guardian Storage where we gathered our Mail before dropping off a few more things in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit.
Our next stop was at Green Shield to drop off the Claim Form for Mary’s services this morning. We pay for it out of pocket but should have the Refund in hand by the end of next week. They are not open on the weekends and since we had other errands to run today was perfect.
Retro look.
We then drove over to Princess Auto. I had purchased a tool the other day but upon closer inspection it wasn’t made very well so I wanted to exchange it for a better quality tool. Kathy likes to look around the Surplus Section of the store but joined me after. With some discussion she convinced me to by a much higher priced unit but with a Two Year Warranty we know that it will last.
Retro inside with pictures of all the local outlets.
We were actually experiencing temperatures that felt like 91 F (33 C) this afternoon. Since it had been a while since we had Fish and Chips we opted to eat out. We have mention how we enjoy having the Fish and Chips at One of the Five Michigan Dinners in the area so that was where we opted to go. The closest one had change its name to Hi-Ho but still has the same owner. This location back in the 40’s to early 70’s was a Hi-Ho outlet. At that time there were actually Eight of them in Windsor where the waitresses actually Roller-Skated to your cars. Today you can still get that same quality of food but it is Dine-In only.
This location back in the day.
After having a wonderful meal we were Home shortly before 6:00 where we got caught up on our reading we missed out on this morning. Since this is Friday Night someone over in the Transient Area is playing their music quite loud. Have you ever seen someone evicted from a Park in the middle of the night? Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Early To Rise, Nobody Had One, Kathy Got Another Demonstration and More Rain.

I was up by 6:30 this morning knowing that I would probably be doing a lot of running around today. The old adage of “The Early Bird gets the Worm” was not something that Kathy could do. We had discussed this last night so after having my breakfast alone I was out the door headed for Windsor. Using the Truck I had no sooner hit the road when it started Raining. The intensity would vary but it would continue throughout the day.
My stops started in the Oldcastle area where I stopped at Six different locations before heading towards Tecumseh then back towards central Windsor. It was just before noon that I called Kathy with my findings. I had stopped at Sixteen businesses that according to the Internet all offered the same thing but no one had any to offer. Guess that will take more research.
Kathy made Macaroni and Cheese for our lunch topped off with a Chocolate Pudding Cup for our dessert.

After checking what would have been my normal reading I was back to doing more research. Being retired one thing that I have gotten used to is not getting up at 6:30 in the morning. With the sound of the Rain tapping away on the Trailer we both ended up having a Twenty Minute Snap.
Kathy made us Belgium Waffles with Mixed Fruit for supper. Since these are smaller than the ones sold in most Restaurants we were satisfied but not stuffed.
We were out the door by 4:30 and were amazed that walking on the Grass to get in the Car there was Water was being pushed out of the ground from all the Rain we have been having. When we left the Park the ditches along the roads were nearly full. Farmers Fields were showing signs of Over-Saturation even more then yesterday.
Our first stop in Amherstburg was Pharma Choice Pharmacy. When Kathy picked up her new Blood Sugar Meter the other day Danielle explained how to use it. When Kathy tried using it at Home it would not work. Steve showed her again and she realized that her old machine and new one work differently.

We made a quick stop at Dollarama for a few supplies before heading over to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s. When we arrived the Rain had stopped but Kevin was outside trying to change a Wiper Blade on their Minivan. Someone must have opened the package at the store and removed the clip he needed to make it work.
Since I had parked behind the Minivan I drove him back to Canadian Tire while Kathy started visiting with Melissa. When Kevin and I returned with a properly equipped Wiper Blade it snapped right in place. We all had an Enjoyable visit but by the time we were ready to leave shortly after 8:00 the temperatures were cooling down.
We were half way Home when Kathy told me to pull off the road. She had spotted an amazing Sunset that we would have missed if I had driven Home. I had barely taken the Picture when the Sun slid behind the wall of Clouds.
Having gotten up early today I’m thinking I’ll be going to bed early as well. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

No Appointments, Wider Streets and Cleaning Up.

By the time I had opened the downstairs Window Shades then had the makings for breakfast ready I was reading at my Computer before 7:30 this morning. The Sun was hidden behind a wall of Clouds making us wonder if Spring would ever truly arrive. Kathy joined me downstairs shortly after 8:00. It felt good knowing we had no appointments to worry about today which would give us a chance to get to some other chores done that we have been putting off. We did take the time to finish our morning Coffee/Tea at the Computers but once they were done we were on the move so as not to waste any time.

That was when we heard the small Power Digger coming coming down our street. At Wildwood Golf and RV Park we are in what is called the Old Section. It has Mature Trees and Narrow Ten Foot Wide Streets that were made Twenty-Seven Years ago for smaller Travel Trailers to use. Now when Seasonal Tenants like ourselves with large Trailers return in the Spring we end up tearing up the Grass across the road. Last year Joe the owner watched me back in and could not believe how easily I did it but I still hit the Grass across the street. Since Monday the Staff have been removing a Two Foot Grass Strip from the front of everyone’s Site and packing it with Gravel. Lets see how a Fourteen Foot wide Street is for backing in these big Trailers next year.

With my Raynauds sleeping in temperatures lower then 50 F(10 C) makes it so I basically lay there shivering all night. What we did to solve that problem was to find Micro Fiber Bedding which keeps me comfortable. With the Roller-Coaster Weather that we have experienced since arriving back in Ontario today The Weather Network has finally stopped forecasting those lower nighttime temperatures. That meant it was time to change to our Bamboo Sheets today. They will also help us to keep cooler during the heat of the summer.
After I made the Bed up with the Fresh Sheets it was also time to sort and treat the rest of our Laundry. Kathy had already been busy sorting more of the shelves in the closet but knowing I’d be gone for some time made Vegetable Soup for an early lunch along with a Pudding Cup for dessert.

When I arrived at the Park Laundry Room I realized that lots of people had the same idea. I could only get Two Washers to start because the rest were busy. When someone else took their Clothes out I tried to get it before someone else did. It took nearly Five Hours to wash, dry and fold all our Sheets, Towels and Clothes.

Finally arriving back Home Kathy had just finished a number of other chores that she has the special touch for. Having had to stand for nearly the entire time I was away made me feel the need to sit for a short while before putting away as much of the Laundry as possible.
For supper while I was grilling some Spare Ribs on our Weber Q Kathy was busy inside making a wonderful Caesar Salad along with some Niblet Corn. Everything tasted wonderful and we topped it off with a Yogurt Cup and Cookies for dessert.

Once we finished cleaning the Dishes I headed outside for a few more chores. First was to close and cover our Weber Q then I proceeded to dump and back-flush our Waste Tanks. We learned that the smell we were getting from our Black Tank was due to our using Chemicals to break down the Waste. Since we stopped using them our Tanks created their own Emezines that break down the Waste and hardly ever gives off any odor. By back-flushing the Black Tank using our Grey Waste we are not wasting any Natural Resources.

Tomorrow we both have things we’ll be doing on our own. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
