It really felt strange not having to turn up the Blue Flame Heater above the low setting this morning. Maybe Mother Nature figured since it was now May 1st that it was time to start warming up just a bit. I didn’t check the outside temperature until 8:00 this morning when it was 46 F (8 C). That was our high yesterday.
Slight focus problem through the Window.
After finishing our Coffee/Tea at our Computers we had a pleasant surprise when the Sun finally broke through the Clouds. Looking out our Side Window on the edge of our neighbours Shed were Two Mourning Doves enjoying the serenity of the world around them and thinking where they could build a nest. Everywhere we looked this morning all we saw were Birds gathering building materials to build nests.

We were out the door by 10:30 this morning headed towards Windsor. Our first stop was Guardian Storage to collect the single piece of Mail that we had in our Mailbox. Wendy was there and welcomed us back.

After a quick stop at the Motor City Community Credit Union for some pocket change. Then we took our time crossing the city of Windsor by taking Tecumseh Road. Travelling through the heart of a city like that is the only way to see changes that took place while we were away.
We soon arrived at our Family Doctor to get him established as Kathy’s new Doctor. Last fall before we headed south Kathy’s former doctor was ignoring most of the problems that Kathy was having. When I went for my Driver’s Medical the following day she tagged along and signed in to his Clinic. As soon as he saw Kathy’s Hand he told her the problem, prescribed a Temporary Medication and scheduled Blood Tests to validate his prognosis. Kathy saw him again before we left and her hand was on the road to recovery. She made the decision then to change doctors.

Our appointment was for 11:45 but we didn’t get called in until 12:00. Dr. Zahrebelny does not rush his patience and if he feels you should see a Specialist he will refer you. Kathy now has a host of Specialist Appointments along with Blood Tests and Medical Imaging but she doesn’t mind because he is taking care of her needs and not ignoring them like her former Doctor. He also changed One of Kathy’s Medications and told us how to make it easier to get the rest of her other Medications Refilled. I needed a form filled out for Insurance Purposes.
It was nearly 1:30 when we headed over to the nearby Dairy Queen to have our late lunch. Since we had a Gift Card to use it cost us an entire Nickel out of our pockets to cover the cost. Big Spenders!
We made a quick stop at Walmart on Dougal Avenue to get some Distilled Water for our CPAP Machines.

We had to stop at Home because Kathy had forgotten a Paper and needed her new Health Card Number that was on it. While there she also did more On-Line Banking so that all our accounts are now up to date.
It was minutes before 4:00 when it started Raining just we were again heading out the door. This time we were heading back to Amherstburg. Our destination was the Health First Pharmacy (Pharma Care) to hand in the New Medication Prescription and have them FAX the other needed Medications to Dr. Zahrebelny making him Kathy’s official Doctor.
We needed to waste some time so we stopped at Subway at 5:00 where we shared a Twelve Inch Assorted Sub. While there Ken a Pipe-Fitter that I used to work with before our Plant Closure stopped by our table to say hello and was happy to hear that we are still travelling.
We still needed to stall a bit so we went to Canadian Tire to do some walking. Instead made a few Purchases for our Site. I spotted a replacement Cover for our Gazebo. Then we spotted more Solar Powered Lights to hang inside. Kathy also decided we needed to paint out Picnic Table and Address Post so we bought some Paint. Looks like we’ll be busy again soon.
We sat in the car talking for a while to kill more time before heading over to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house for our Wednesday evening visit. We had just arrived when Melissa got home from her Dentist Appointment. We had lots to talk about but since this was My Birthday Melissa had prepared a bunch of Snacks for us to munch on along with a Bottomless Cup of Tea. Then just before we were about to leave out came a Chocolate Cake to celebrate both Kathy’s and My Birthdays. Thanks Guys!

While we were visiting the Rain finally stopped so it was an easy drive Home. Once there I was trying to call Verizon because even though we’ve cancelled their service they are still charging us. Three Times we were disconnected. I’ll call tomorrow when I have more time. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  7. New doctor sounds like a good plan! I used to have trouble getting Verizon to stop charging me after coming home. We're still using the electric heaters extensively here as it has remained unseasonably cool. The forecast is 21C for Saturday so maybe that is about to change.

  9. As we get older, our health is even more important as our bodies often let us down (even if we are feeling the effects of bad choices when younger). A doctor that is a good listener and diagnostician is a real blessing.
