More Arrhythmias and Funny Call.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It may sound silly, but for some strange reason the moment that I lay down in Bed, my feet begin to freeze and I cannot sleep with Cold Feet. Sitting in my Recliner they are perfectly fine even without Socks but the moment I lay down they best be on my feet. Some have mentioned that it could be a circulatory problem in my legs, but it only seemed to start after I had the Hip Replacement. Now that my Rant is over with, I had a great night’s sleep last night.

Even though I woke up without the use of the alarm, I had barely opened the Balcony Blinds to see an Overcast sky that made everything look miserable, when Kathy came out smiling ear to ear. Since we held hands for more than half the night she slept well.

After finishing our breakfast snack, we made certain to get as much of our E-Reading before lunch. I was getting ready to print another copy of Kathy’s Medication/Vitamin List when it dawned on me, I had just given them a fresh copy Two Weeks ago and it hadn’t changed since.

It was around that time that the Pain Care Clinic called to inform me the Doctor would not be available for my next appointment, but I needed to stop by to leave a sample, to be certain the Medication was not affecting my Liver. (If we miss an appointment we have to pay a steep monitory penalty, but if the Doctor can’t make it, we are supposed to accept it.)(Second Rant)

We both enjoyed a Homemade Italian Salad for lunch. I was surprised that it took nearly an Hour to create. I always wondered how animals that only ate grass could get so big, and we eat it to lose weight. We had just finished eating when I noticed the time was flying by and we had to go.

The Westerly Winds were making things feel comfortable even though it was in the low Eighties. We walked out together and felt the heat in the Car when we opened the doors. Approaching the end of the driveway. I could see traffic practically flying by, but the moment we got to the road, there was a big opening for us to go. We only had to stop for one Traffic Light because a Semi needed Forty Acres to make his turn.

Arriving at the Howard Avenue Medical Center, we were able to snag a parking spot close to the door, instead of the back forty. We managed to get register and called in before Kathy’s appointment time. Reviewing the results of Kathy’s Heart Monitor Two Weeks back, the Cardiologist note a number of slight Arrhythmias, which became so severe in 2023 she was sent to New Market to have an Ablation done. she’ll need to come back in Six Months to see if there is any change. We also asked about Kathy’s Medication making her feel tired since he adjusted it before. Strangely he did not remember that and advised us to check with our Family Doctor.

Instead of leaving immediately, we took the long walk inside the Air-Conditioned Building over to the Pain Care Clinic. They got their Sample and we only paid for parking Once.

Back at our building we parked the car together before heading in. The Weather Network showed the 86 F (30C) feeling like 100 F (38 C). Kathy’s program showed the roof being lifted from our building. With the Sun shining brightly, even the Radar showed Storm Cells well over Fifty Miles away. We would eventually get some Rain closer to 9:00.

One thing about Salads is they keep you bloated for Hours, but by 5:00 we were starting to feel hungry. When I saw Kathy starting to doze off, I started getting a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza ready for supper. That was when our daughter Karen called, startling Kathy into a stupor. Instead of answering the phone, she was trying to answer the TV Remote. When she finally called Karen back, she was holding the phone upside down. They had a pleasant talk.

We later watch the movie called, Morning Glorywith Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton. It was a good Comedy Drama.

More Construction Chaos, Wildfire Smoke and Rain To The Rescue.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

When I turn down the Bed at night, the next thing I do is put on my Pajamas before heading back to my Computer. I have difficulty creating the Blog early in the day or evening, so Kathy had already gone to sleep by the time I published it. After making certain that it has in fact been posted, I most nights will sit back in my Recliner, as a means of coaxing myself to sleep and allowing my body parts to realign. That brings less Pain when I move to the Bed, where the only way I can sleep there, brings all that Pain and discomfort back. The only advantage of having it, is it acts as an alarm clock that wakes me up in the morning.

I had another alarm this morning in the form of my Cell Phone going off in the Livingroom. Of course, by the time I got out of Bed it had stopped. Sitting at my Computer, I was able to find out who the call was from, so that would give us an excuse to go for a ride today.

I was opening the Balcony Blinds when Kathy came out to join me. We were both relieved that we did not sleep as late as yesterday. We stuck with a breakfast snack as a way of starting our day before taking our Coffees to our Computers. Checking my E-Mail, I discovered a message that had me scrambling to check our Banking Statements. Everything looked good but we’ll make certain.

Not wanting anything to spoil in the Fridge, we enjoyed Hotdog Wraps for lunch with a couple of Cookies for dessert.

We soon headed out the door with Kathy walking out to the Car with me. It was starting to warm up, but even today’s Humidex was only 84 F (29 C) at its peak.

The first place we went was Health First Pharmacy. They were the ones that called this morning to say I had a Prescription waiting for me. It was covered by my Extended Health Care Coverage so there was no charge, but the moment I opened it, I called the Pharmacist over. This was the Medication they would not give me Ten Days ago, because according to their records, I was too early to refill it. Danielle told me it was the Insurance Provider that refused the early refill from the Pain Care Clinic. I may have to have an in-person talk with them.

We needed some walking exercise, so we headed over to Walmart on Tecumseh Road. What I forgot to consider was with the completion of Construct on one side of the road, today they would start the other side. What normally would take Two Minutes to travel, took Twenty Minutes.

We were there just to walk, but then Kathy’s shoe started bothering her, so we found some Liners to fix that problem. Then Kathy saw the shelves with Men’s Shoes had been restocked and had me trying loads of shoes. There was just something in the fit that was not right, nor had I even been looking when we walked in.

Leaving there with only the Liners we left to go to The Shoe Factory over at the Tecumseh Mall. Just as we were about to park the Car, Kathy said she was tired and could wait for buying shoes but said she was getting hungry.

I think she had looked up and saw the Wendy’s across the street. We had their Chicken Nuggets with Small Chocolate Frosties and Seniors Soft Drinks for supper. Kathy always cheers up watching parents with young children. It puts a smile on her face as she remembers the antics that her children pulled, when they were younger.

Driving away from the Construction Chaos, we were parking the Car in its assigned spot Ten Minutes later.

On the “6 o’clock Local News” the biggest concern the Weather Guesser had was more Wildfire Smoke heading our way, and the Health Affects it can have on anyone with Breathing Issues. He advised wearing well-fitting N95 Masks for protection. Tomorrow some Rain could help to clean the particles from the air.

We later watched a couple more episodes of “WWII” narrated by Tom Hanks. With Kathy’s father having served, she remembers how badly it affected him upon his return.

Another appointment to keep us busy tomorrow.

Deep Sleep and A Marketing Ploy.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I don’t know what happen last night, when we actually got to bed earlier than most nights, then we both really slept in this morning. We did not do anything different, we even left the Air Conditioner running for the entire night, it must have been holding hands that did it.

The moment we got out of Bed and started to freeze, it was shut down. Surviving on a breakfast snack was not going to be a problem since there was hardly morning left. When I was told what was expected this afternoon, I chose that we would share a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza.

After we finished our lunch, Kathy kept a close eye on me until I had my shoes on. The AC was turned back on before we stepped out the door, so we would not be coming back to a Hot House. Our Humidex would only reach 95 F (35 C) this afternoon, but it was noticeable.

Turning west on Riverside Drive I made certain not to rush to slowly get from one end of Windsor to the other. Finally, there was no choice but to turn south on the old 18 Highway, heading for LaSalle. Our regular readers would know that we were going to visit Kathy’s brother Danny. We have visited him 8 Times since April but after each visit, Kathy says that was not her brother or the house that he lives in.

Heading up Sprucewood, Kathy was nearly sitting on the edge of her seat. As we approached the house, I asked her what colour it was since it has faded over the years, and that confuses her. In the driveway I stayed at the wheel while she went to check if he was in. She actually pounded on the door so hard, I would have been hesitant to answer it myself. The moment she stopped knocking, one time, she headed back for the Car.

She then started saying her late mother had had the house moved to what is now the “New LaSalle”. Even though I told her that is a Marketing Ploy to attract more homeowners she would not believe me. The house was never moved. We drove by the house that she raised her family on Laurie, but that resulted in another scolding, saying I needed to go to the newer part of LaSalle.

After driving by Danny’s home again and past all the high-end homes, she told me to call our daughter Karen, because she would know where it was. Finding someplace to pullover, I finally made the Call. When Karen answered, I never said a word, so Kathy could not say I was coaching Karen. When Karen finally said, “That I was bringing her to Danny’s house near the corner of Sprucewood and Malden, that was his house”. She also reinforced my Marketing Ploy statement. Then she told Kathy to stop worrying about him not being home this time and go have an Ice Cream Cone. Burger King’s Dollar Cones worked perfectly and she calmed right down.

Kathy asked to be let off at the front entrance to our building before I parked the Car. We then had the chance to finish our daily Blog Reading.

With lots of Leftover Stir Fry in the Fridge, I sliced up some Bacon to add flavour to the mix. Then Kathy said she hasn’t had any Ice Cream in some time, so with a sliced Banana, Marichino Cherries and Chocolate Sauce on her’s. She was very satisfied.

Karen called just after 8:00 to see how we were doing. Kathy thanked her for explaining the Marketing Ploy to her. Then we told her that we were going to watch the original movie “Speed”. She ended the call quickly. The movie was excellent.

Not sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow, but it is a busy week.

Repackaging and Researching.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

There was a little back and forth between my Recliner and Bed last night, but in the end I slept soundly enough to have a good day.

I was bad last night, convincing Kathy that the few dirty dishes in the sink could wait until this morning. Getting up at 8:00 this morning, was the perfect time to take care of that chore. I was down to the last Frying Pan when Kathy came out to join me.

After having our breakfast snack, we headed to our Computers in an attempt to find out what kind of day it was going to be. Kathy kept finding a Weather Watch that was predicting a Severe Storm, making her think the end was near. I looked at my most reliable, The Weather Network and discounted most of the other competitors. It was possible that our daughter Karen’s house, that is in disarray from the last storms could get hit again, but according to the Radar, it was all going to our Northeast with the help of 35 MPH Wind Gusts.

After our regular morning reading, I was going to research a number of things that would eventually make their way onto our Blog. Unfortunately, I needed to finish repackaging the Salmon and Hamburger we just purchased yesterday. That also meant rearranging the Freezer Drawers, by separating the Fish, Meat and Chicken to each their own drawer. That also allowed me to place the newest arrivals at the bottom and the older dated at the top.

By noon the 91 F (33 C) temperature was feeling like 111F (45 C). Wanting to get started on the Research, we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for lunch. This would be last of those Pizzas that were not covered with Pineapple but Hot Peppers. Even though I tried to get all the Peppers off of Kathy’s portion, I missed a few.

Kathy would continue getting misinformation about the Storm while I continued with my research through the afternoon.

Around 4:30 I started grilling some cubed Chicken Breast. Tonight’s Chicken Veggie Wraps were as tasty as the Bacon/Veggie Wraps we had last night, but with a twist, a touch of Ranch Dressing.

With no Local News on the weekends, we watched a Murder Mystery to keep us entertained.

With no Rain, no Smoke and cooler temperatures in the forecast for tomorrow, we’ll be getting out so we don’t feel like prisoners in our Apartment.
