Lucky Prep Day

Our Location today is Apopka, Florida.

Even after being up and reading blogs we follow in the middle of the night I was still up and about by 8:00 this morning and Kathy followed within minutes. Again we made it a two cup morning with a muffin for breakfast while we discussed our plans for the day. Kathy went to do her morning reading while I did my inside chores before heading outside.
This was only the fourth time in a month the train passed behind our trailer.
Last month we had a cold snap at the end of January and because we forgot to shut the heat off during the day and the hot water heater at night it had drained the propane tank. Being much more conservative with the second tank but still forgetting the water heater on occasion we thought we’d refill this tank as we are expecting another cold spell this weekend. We are also moving to a campground in Crystal River, Florida tomorrow so in case they don’t refill tanks we had it done here today.
Refill before we leave just in case.
Once that was finished we headed to Walmart for some last minute supplies as well as some walking. Kathy even managed to find a nice overlay to help keep her shoulders warm.
Being that it was getting close to lunch and who knows if we’ll ever be back in this area we decided we’d stop for a light lunch at Steak n Shake of course. As we’d eaten a light breakfast as soon as our lunch was served we dug right in with no pictures. Two light meals in one morning left us feeling a little empty so we just had to add a little something to top it off. We had a sundae again and Kathy was hungry enough she was digging in to hers before it could pose for a picture.
That's my Sundae, notice Kathy's disappearing in the background.
I had commented that I didn’t think I would be able to see the outside duel near a curb and wouldn’t be able to match the clearance lights once I got home. So Kathy suggested that I pick them up here so I wouldn’t have to worry back home. A quick stop at Pep Boys Auto Parts and that problem was resolved.
Since Walmart didn’t have everything we wanted we continued down to the Target store on 441. Pulling into the parking lot near a light standard I thought that it was strange that there were branches and grass near its base. That is where Kathy pointed to a nest at the top of the pole and we heard the high pitched scream of birds so we left well enough alone. Coming out of the target store we now saw an Osprey sitting in the nest keeping a keen look at what was happening in the parking lot as well as the sky. It stayed there a good ten minutes before taking flight and coming in close contact with its mate but keeping a birds eye view on the nest.

Look at the size of that nest.
The Osprey looks like it's smiling for the camera. Look how thick the sticks are.

Back at the trailer Kathy did her inside chores while I remounted the bicycles on the trailer, put our chairs and table way, put the grill away and closed up the outside kitchen, put the tripod away and prepped the truck for towing all before supper.

Since we had those sundaes for dessert at lunch we got back into the light meal for supper. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Tackling the Day.

Our Location today is Apopka, Florida.

After lying awake in bed for some time I finally got up to discover that it was now 7:00 in the morning and I was feeling quite refreshed. So the best thing I could do was to go turn on the computers in the other room and start read the blogs we follow. It surprised me that Kathy actually slept until nearly 8:00 because normally once she senses that I’m no longer in bed she wakes up. She must have really needed the extra sleep. We were happy to see the sun making a bright appearance after it had been hidden behind the clouds for the last few days.
We had a simple breakfast of a muffin and coffee while we discussed our plans for the day. As we continued our conversation onto other subjects the taste for a second cup of coffee prolonged our relaxation. By 9:30 Kathy headed to the computer while I had my sights set on doing the laundry as early as possible in hopes of missing the afternoon rush. After doing my inside chores and pretreating stains that were on some of my clothes that I had worn while working under the truck I finally got to the laundry room by 10:30 where I had to wait until 11:00 before I could start the wash. Everyone else had the same idea that I’d had.
This clothes line works great in parks that don't allow tying anything to trees.
Not all the stains came out of my work clothes so after they had finished washing I brought them back to the trailer to hang on our bumper mounted clothes line. By not putting them in the dryer the stain will not permanently set and I have another shot at getting it out of the fabric. I was back at the trailer by noon where Kathy had finished vacuuming and was just starting to make us another breakfast for lunch.

Once the laundry was completed I spent the rest of the afternoon making some of my own spreadsheet entries while Kathy started reading another book. Once I started going cross-eyed from my work it was already time for supper. Kathy quickly made up a delicious supper of Spaghetti and Meat Balls.
A few days ago we welcomed three new blog followers to our post. One of those was Mello Mike whose profile left no blog identification to pass on through a shout out. Last night after publishing our post for the night I was reading one of the blogs we follow and there was a shortcut to Mike’s blog. He is a resourceful person that people having problems with their RVs might get some useful tips by reading. His blog is Mello Mike’s Truck Camper Adventures so feel free to check it out and again Mike thanks for following our blog.

Tomorrow we have plans to head out for a short while as well as wrapping up some other things before we hit the road on Friday. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Worth Writing About.

Our Location today is Apopka, Florida.

Something that I have always loved to do was play with numbers as a fact I would create problems just so I could use my math skills to solve them. When we started writing our blog post almost sixteen months ago I never thought that I would continue watching numbers. Last night right after posting our blog for the day I wanted to read the blogs we follow but a number caught my eye so I immediately snapped this picture seconds before it changed. That was the number on our site meter last night.
We also watched the weather channel before going to sleep telling us we wouldn’t be doing much today as they were predicting a hard line of storms and a day filled with rain. When we got up at 7:30 we figured they had messed up again but by 8:00 that prediction was right on the money.
At times the rain was hitting our roof with such an intensity we were having a hard time hearing one another talking to the other. Then it would turn to a light drizzle making you think the worst was over before the darkening skies would change those ideas very quickly.
Baked beans on toast for lunch. But you can see we each had a donut  to top it off.
By lunch time there were a number of RVs that were lined up in the driveway to the park after thinking twice about driving under such conditions. As the afternoon progressed water puddles were growing into miniature lakes throughout the park making me think that I might have to get our inflatable kayak out of the basement just in case things got any worse.
All through this time we passed our time getting caught up doing work on the computers. The forecast had put us into a watch until 3:00 this afternoon but moments after 2:30 the rain just stopped and a steady but light breeze started.
Another couple we met out for a walk.

At 4:00 looking outside we noted that the water accumulation was practically gone with only small puddles remaining. We decided we needed to stretch our legs and get our bodies moving so we left for a walk. Kathy decided that she wanted to see outside the park so heading out the gate we followed a single lane road that bordered the back of the park. There were a few homes along the road that led back to a few businesses but they were not what was important.
Bottle Brush Shrub Native to the State of Florida.
Along the way we found some beautiful plants that Kathy would later identify on the computer and birds that were singing cheerful songs now that the rain had ended. They soon took cover and stopped singing not because of another storm but because there were other birds that were out looking for their dinners.
Don't know the name but it sang a beautiful song
Soaring high looking for dinner.
Threatening skies cut our walk short.
As we watched the sky we saw the black clouds continuing to threaten us with more rain but it held off. Back inside the park we walked around the inside until we got back to our trailer where it was time to make supper. Kathy baked the potatoes and made the three bean salad while I barbecued the Johnsonville Brats.

Tomorrow the skies will be clear but slightly cooler so we’ll be finding something interesting to do. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Early Non-Stop Day.

Our Location today is Apopka, Florida.

This morning after lying in bed for awhile looking at the ceiling I got up thinking it was time to start the day. Then I looked at the clock only to see it still wasn’t 7:00 so rather than disturbing Kathy by climbing back in bed I went to the back room to fire up the computers. I have mentioned before that once I’m out of bed Kathy normally wakes up. Today was no exception as she joined me in the kitchen by 7:05 ready to start her day. The big problem is now we are both nearly falling asleep at the computers as I’m writing this post.
Weather not looking too promising, but we didn't get wet. The rain had preceded us to many of our stops.
Since we’ll be moving to our next park for more adventure on Friday I took the time to dump out and flush our waste tanks. The high daytime temperatures is slowly going down as we head towards this weekend but the humidity has been climbing making it uncomfortable when you have to shut the windows because it’s raining outside.
Back inside we continued working on the computers until lunch where we felt quite satisfied with a bowl of Vegetable Beef Soup and a Bagel topped off with a Multi-Berry Cream Cheese.
Dr. Suzanne Davidson making a quick adjustment. She called the night of the extraction to be sure I was okay'
After lunch we headed back to the dentist office to have a minor adjustment made to my partial plate. Dr. Suzanne Davidson was happy to see that I was doing good noting that the gum was not quite totally healed but better than before. She was camera shy as Kathy attempted to take her picture but within a few moments had the plate fitting perfectly.
Since the weather was predicted to be unfavorable today after leaving the dentist’s office we spent a while looking for sandals for Kathy but couldn’t find any that fit comfortably. Next going to another shop in the mall I managed to find a toiletry item that I had needed for some time.
We decided we’d explore Old Downtown Mount Dora but first we needed something to cool down with so we stopped at Checkers for a Frozen Yogurt cone for only a dollar each.
Pictures of Old Mount Dora.
Kathy had read in a brochure of a trolley ride that we could take around the town that would have pointed things of interest for us to visit outside of just the touristy shops. After being unable to find it we asked a resident about the trolley and he said it had been discontinued but pointed out the Chamber of Commerce Build where we could get more information.
Kathy leaving the Chamber of Commerce Building in Old Mount Dora.
I dropped Kathy off so she could investigate and after a slow trip around a several block area returned just as she was exiting the building. The result was the trolley was no longer running due to cost overrun and since we weren’t in the mood to walk through the blocks and blocks of small shops we just headed for home.
Another Balcony style Cafe, above the street level in Old Mount Dora.
I got caught up on my blog reading while Kathy continues making her entries into the new spreadsheet which she says is working perfectly. She now only has to get the entries made since we arrived at this park and she will be up to date.
Nice Sirloin Steak, Salad, Baked Apples and a glass of Wine.
For supper I barbecued a couple of nice Sirloin Steaks while Kathy created a wonderful salad that was more than satisfying. We later witnessed another beautiful sunset. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
