Our Location today is Apopka,
Florida.
Something that I have always loved to do was play with
numbers as a fact I would create problems just so I could use my math skills to
solve them. When we started writing our blog post almost sixteen months ago I never
thought that I would continue watching numbers. Last night right after posting
our blog for the day I wanted to read the blogs we follow but a number caught
my eye so I immediately snapped this picture seconds before it changed. That was the number on our site meter last night.
We also watched the weather channel before going to sleep
telling us we wouldn’t be doing much today as they were predicting a hard line
of storms and a day filled with rain. When we got up at 7:30 we figured they had messed up again but by 8:00 that prediction was right on the money.
At times the rain was hitting our roof with such an intensity
we were having a hard time hearing one another talking to the other. Then it
would turn to a light drizzle making you think the worst was over before the
darkening skies would change those ideas very quickly.
Baked beans on toast for lunch. But you can see we each had a donut to top it off. |
By lunch time there were a number of RVs that were lined up
in the driveway to the park after thinking twice about driving under such
conditions. As the afternoon progressed water puddles were growing into miniature
lakes throughout the park making me think that I might have to get our
inflatable kayak out of the basement just in case things got any worse.
All through this time we passed our time getting caught up
doing work on the computers. The forecast had put us into a watch until 3:00 this afternoon but moments after 2:30 the rain just stopped and a steady but
light breeze started.
Another couple we met out for a walk. |
At 4:00 looking
outside we noted that the water accumulation was practically gone with only
small puddles remaining. We decided we needed to stretch our legs and get our
bodies moving so we left for a walk. Kathy decided that she wanted to see
outside the park so heading out the gate we followed a single lane road that bordered
the back of the park. There were a few homes along the road that led back to a
few businesses but they were not what was important.

Along the way we found some beautiful plants that Kathy
would later identify on the computer and birds that were singing cheerful songs
now that the rain had ended. They soon took cover and stopped singing not
because of another storm but because there were other birds that were out
looking for their dinners.
Don't know the name but it sang a beautiful song |

Threatening skies cut our walk short. |
As we watched the sky we saw the black clouds continuing to
threaten us with more rain but it held off. Back inside the park we walked
around the inside until we got back to our trailer where it was time to make
supper. Kathy baked the potatoes and made the three bean salad while I barbecued
the Johnsonville Brats.

Tomorrow the skies will be clear but slightly cooler so we’ll
be finding something interesting to do. Thanks for following along and feel
free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

glad to see you two are still having a blast...it was a hot one here today thankfully we did get a bit of rain this evening...we sure needed it...
ReplyDeleteSo glad your weather did not get any worse. Rainy days are a good excuse to do just what you did. ....chill. The other couple you met is also in San Diego...too funny! I will have to post a picture of them from So Cal. Actually our daughter gave me the yard birds for my 60 th birthday because I love birds and she said they reminded her of us. Joe and I call them the "old crows". They have traveled with us now for 17 months!
ReplyDeleteThe bottle brush shrub is really pretty!
A rainy day once in a while is a good reason to rest and chill out. You sure had some good food to tide you over!!
ReplyDeleteLove the rainy days, can get caught up with other stuff, and cleans the dust off our rigs as well.
