“Jumanji”

We both slept so soundly last night that we slept in this morning. Things are starting to warm back up around here for a few days so we took our time getting started. Breakfast was again only a Muffin along with our morning beverages that we took to the Computers.
Kathy suggested we go work at the Storage Unit this afternoon so we got our fill of On-Line reading in before lunch. With our morning chores finished we made Italian Wedding Soup with Oranges, Pecan Tarts and Yogurt Cups for dessert.
Once the Dishes and Kitchen were cleaned up Kathy suddenly felt like her energy had been zapped from her and needed to sit for a while. Back on the Computer she tried checking our Account and just like Two Weeks ago could not get in. We’ll just wait until tomorrow because we’ll have more to do then just checking it.

With a forecast for more Rain in the next couple of days we’ll watch the Radar carefully before going to the Storage Unit. We did find some interesting reports that we ran across today that I would like to mention but it would probably be better when I can attach the links. Maybe later this week after I locate them again.

We were listening to the 6 o’clock Local News while we made supper. Not wanting anything too filling we each had an ear of Corn and a serving of Vegetable Fried Rice. Since they were ready at different times there was no picture taken.

Around 8:00 we watched the 1995 movie Jumanji” starring Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt. I recalled seeing it when it first came out but Kathy had never seen it. That’s a story that will keep anyone on the edge of their seats. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

How It Really Happened.

We managed to get out of bed shortly after 8:00 this morning after sleeping like a couple of rocks. Breakfast was simply a Bran Muffin along with our Coffee/Tea that we brought over to the Computers to enjoy.
By the time I turned on The Weather Network our local temperature had already risen to the upper Fifties. We would spend most of the morning on the Computers while enjoying a second cup and completing our morning chores.
For lunch I made Grilled Cheese Sandwiches while Kathy sliced up a Tomato to share as a side as well as making our dessert plates that had an Apple that we shared, a Pecan Tart and a Yogurt Cup.

Once we had finished eating we cleaned up the Dishes as well as the Kitchen before going back to the Computers. Around 2:00 we decided to see what was on Television. We have seen all the movies that were on so decided to check out Forensic Files.
Even though Kathy and I have only been together for the last Twenty Years we are both into Mysteries. As a fact Forty Years ago we were both into reading True Crime and True Detective magazines. We’ve attended a few Murder Mystery Diners and were among the few that actually solved the crimes with the clues given. What they can do today with Forensic Science is amazing that it takes away all the uncertainty in solving the crimes.
We left the TV on while we worked together to make supper. While I cleaned and sliced a couple of Potatoes to make Homemade Fries Kathy got the Frying Pans going on the stove as well as the Two Salmon Fillets from the Freezer. Dessert was a Brownie.

A Golf Tournament was scheduled well past our News Time so we continued watching the Forensic Files. At 7:00 “How It Really Happened” with Will Harper came on. This is similar to “Very Scary People” where they talk about the cases of actual Serial Killers in Two-One Hour Segments. The first case they spoke about was “The Atlanta Child Killer” which I remember hearing about on the News.

The second case was “The Yosemite Murders”. This case I’m not certain that I recall it but it was still interesting.

The One thing these Two Cases have in common is they happened before Forensic DNA was available so they were done the old fashion way of gathering Microscopic Evidence that would be used to solve the cases. The sad part was all the lives that were needlessly cut short.

On the 11 o’clock Local News they talked about both the Weather as well as the Coronavirus numbers that keep flip-flopping back and forth. They covered an incident in Toronto where a couple of demonstrators attacked a number of Police Officers that were just doing crowd control on the sidelines. There was another incident reported where a number of Trump Supporters were driving through town ahead of a rally spraying people with Pepper Spray. The Mayor sent out the message that they are not welcome and told the President to stay away because all he’s doing is inciting this kind of behaviour.

We see what we do tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Fall-Like Weather, Appointment, Errands and Golf Tournament.

Most times in the past whenever we needed to set the alarm to wake up we’d spend most of the night tossing and turning until it was time to get up. Last night we both cheated by taking something to help us sleep. Kathy took a Tylenol Night-Time tablet while I took a Melatonin tablet about a Half Hour before saying good night. The results were we both slept soundly and I shut the alarm Two Minutes before its set time.
Breakfast was simply a bowl of Cereal without even having our morning Coffee-Tea because what goes in will have to come out. While Kathy finished getting ready the only thing I checked on the Computer was The Weather Network to see what we could expect. The forecast appeared to be almost Fall-Like Weather with gusting Winds to boot.
We were out the door before 9:00 and soon heading west bound on Riverside Drive. Even though our forecast was for no Rain looking at the Clouds that blanketed the area we were starting to think we’d get hit with worse then yesterday.
It was 9:12 when I dropped Kathy at the front door of Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus. She had been told to be there a Half Hour before her 9:45 MRI Appointment. After stopping at Admitting to answer questions on how she was feeling then having her Temperature taken she was released to continue. She was the only one in the Waiting Room and was taken in righted on time. She has been having issues with her Knee so before the test began they propped it up on a Special Pillow. Kathy was told to hold perfectly still during the test but then the Technician said the Pillow had shifted and they had to redo the entire MRI.

Due to earlier hospital restrictions I stayed in the Car keeping a close eye on the door. Little did I know about the delay. I even walked around the entrance to be certain that was where she would exit. Finally Kathy called to say what door she had just exited.
Without our morning beverages the small amount of cereal we had was no longer keeping us satisfied and we still had a few more stops to make. We stopped at Wendy’s just after 11:00 where we each had a Chicken Wrap, Small Chocolate Frosty and Seniors Soft Drinks for only $7.41 total. While we sat in the Car eating lunch we were joined by many others doing the same thing. I guess it’s the new way of eating in.
Our next stop was Dollarama where we picked up a number of Food Stocks. As I’ve mentioned before that those purchases are Half the price charged at the grocery stores.
Next we had to go to Zehr’s grocery store to get such things as Produce and Frozen Foods. Trying to save time while Kathy went to get things in the Pharmacy Section I went to get Paper Towels. There was hardly any Toilet Paper and no Paper Towels. I didn’t think we were into a second wave of Coronavirus just yet.
After leaving there we stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up a few things. They had plenty of Toilet Paper but only a few Two Packs of the smaller bargain brand of Paper Towels but they’ll hold us over.
When we arrived at our Building there was an Ambulance at the front entrance so I dropped Kathy off at the rear entrance before parking the Car. Inside the Apartment we worked together putting everything away. We finally spent more time getting caught up on our Computer reading.
Salad without the Chicken.
Chicken after the Salad.
Just after 5:00 Kathy started frying a couple of Chicken Breast as well as making our dessert plates with Pecan Tarts and Yogurt Cups. I busied myself making a Garden Salad seasoned with a Raspberry Vinaigrette. The Chicken wasn’t quite ready yet so we ended up eating our Salad before it was fully cooked.
I thought with the damage being cause by Hurricane Laura we could watch the Local News at 6:00. Would you believe they were still having a Golf Tournament? How is that even possible?
Tonight's Sunset.
We watched a Movie before watching the 11 o’clock Local News out of London. It has been just over a week that our region has gone to Phase 3 of the Coronavirus Recovery and just today we had 29 New Cases reported. We can also expect a few more cooler days before returning to seasonal temperatures. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Thunder, Lightning and Flooding.

After staying up late to watch the final night of the Republican Presidential Nomination then post the Blog it didn’t surprise us when we both slept in this morning. We both felt like we had been drugged but it’s not uncommon when you run the Air Conditioner around the clock. All around us in the air are electrically charged particles called Ions and AC pulls the Positive Ions out of the air thus causing us to feel tired.
Looking out the Balcony Door was quite dreary today because it was raining most of the day with some intense periods where most of the neighbourhood behind the building would be hidden from sight through a wall of Rain. There were also a number of bolts of Lightning that lit up the sky followed by Thunder loud enough to be deafening.
Since we had a lite breakfast we made Perogies with Sour Cream, chopped Bacon and shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Kathy sliced up one of the Tomatoes that Melissa sent home with us the other night as a side as well as making a dessert plate with Orange Slices, Oatmeal Cookies and a Yogurt Cup.

With the Rain still coming down we settled in back at the Computers doing research and entries. Shortly after 2:00 I managed to get a couple of Sets of exercise in. It not only got rid of the Aches and Pains but increased my ability to concentrate better.

Just after 5:00 I cleaned up a small Celery Root we had in the Fridge. Once that was done I started the boiling process to cook them up. Because of its small size having something else sounded logical so when I found the leftover Pineapple in the Fridge it became dessert. We ended up eating dessert first while supper boiled. Since it worked well the last time we tried it without any Breading. It was tasty but was just missing that little bit of flavouring the Breading adds to it.

According to the 6 o’clock Local News the Rain we were experiencing today is from Hurricane Laura which had cause flooding in parts of the city of Windsor. It seems there are more cases of the Coronavirus occurring across Ontario.

We cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen before heading back to our Computers. We have to set the Alarm tonight so Kathy took a Night-time Tylenol and I took a Melatonin so hopefully we can actually sleep tonight. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
