After yet another Birthday Celebration last night we could barely keep our eyes open while reading on the Computers. Once we had been asleep only a short time I woke up and tossed for a bit before falling back to sleep. That happened at least Five Times so by the time I woke this morning I was feeling far from rested. That’s when I suspected that the Two Large Cups of Tea we had last night were not Decaffeinated. Years ago that would not have mattered but not lately.

After getting things ready for breakfast and checking The Weather Network it wasn’t long before Kathy joined me downstairs. She appeared to have had the same kind of night that I had but because of the pain in her shoulders.
Perfect weather for the Day Lilies.
I changed the way we both felt with the simple words “Happy Anniversary” and a smile appeared on her face. Today is our Eighteenth Wedding Anniversary and it took us both having another life before finding the true meaning of Love in each other.
We kept things simple this morning reading on the Computers, inside chores and making lunch. Even that was kept simple by having Split Pea with Ham Soup, a Cheese Stick and the piece of Birthday Cake we came Home with last night for our dessert.

We waited until after 1:00 before we headed out the door. Looking around lots of neighbours were visiting in the shade of their RVs on this cooler day. Lots more were busy putting up their Canadian Flags in preparation of Canada’s 152 Birthday tomorrow.
We headed to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail. Being that they were closed it was a simple process of entering my Access Code and we were soon on our way.

We soon arrived at our daughter Rose’s house. It was quite a change from last year since they had installed a new High Efficiency Furnace, Central Air Conditioning and Water Heater. Not only was it much more comfortable but she noticed a dramatic decrease in her Utility Bills.

We were there for another reason as well. We didn’t find out that our grandson DJ was Graduating from Grade Eight until we were at the Grade Eight Graduation for our grandson Connor. Thinking that we couldn’t attend both Rose didn’t mention it to us. If we had known we would have attended both the same night. DJ will make good use of his Graduation Gift. We visited longer finding out about Rose’s schedule for this summer.
It was after 4:30 when we left and since this was our Special Day we debated where we should have supper. We decided to eat at Wendy’s where we splurged each having a Full Size Salad along a Small Chocolate Frosty and a Senior’s Soft Drink.

We arrived Home before 6:00 where the Computers once again showed us what was happening in the world. Our day went just the way we like it Quiet and Together. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Changed The Roof Colour and Another Birthday Celebration.

Having made plans on what to do with my day I was a little disappointed that I slept in until 8:00 this morning. As soon as I had things ready for breakfast I immediately checked The Weather Network to verify that my plans would work perfectly.

Kathy joined me downstairs by 8:30 and once breakfast was over she headed over to her Computer while I completed my other inside chores. With the AC running my morning Coffee had cooled enough that after a few quick gulps it was gone and I was headed out the door to move our Vehicles.

I managed to find an available parking spot in the Overflow Parking Area for the Truck. Walking back towards Home Mike who I used to work with before the plant was closed waved me over. He explained that he and Russ had stopped over to visit on numerous occasions but we were never Home. I explained about all the Appointments, Graduations and Birthdays we had been dealing with and what today’s plans involved.

After Ten Minutes I was finally heading Home to move our Car to our neighbour’s site since they won’t be back home until next week. That was when Larry stopped over to talk. He also noticed that we had been gone a lot lately. Same explanation and my plans. His advice was to stay cool because there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Since we have been back on our Seasonal Site we have wanted to scrub down the outside of our Trailer but we either had Cold Rainy Weather or we were dealing with other things. When we started having moderate temperatures we had the Roof Vents, Windows and the Door open to keep the Trailer cool inside. With Humidex temperatures reaching above the Century Mark and having to close up the Trailer to run the Air Conditioning today was the day to get it cleaned.

From experience I gathered my tools and headed up to the Roof. Before starting to scrub anything my first chore was to tilt all the Solar Panels. No use leaving them down when along with all the Dirt we got from our travels we had lots of Pollen and Tree Seeds to clean off. I’ve never seen Tree Seeds take root between the Roof of a Trailer and Cables for Solar Panels before. I managed to get a One/Third of the Roof scrubbed from the grey colour back to its original white before going in for lunch.

Kathy made us Toasted Tomato, Bacon and Cheese Sandwiches for lunch topped off with a Yogurt Cup for dessert. I was only off the roof for a Half an Hour before getting back to my task.

Our neighbour Bill had seen what I was doing and thought he’d clean their Trailer as well but he started cleaning the side. I explained from the Roof that when you do the top first you only need to clean the sides once so he got started cleaning their Roof. We both finished scrubbing our Roofs around the same time and he wondered what was taking me so long. A 28 Foot Trailer with Three Slides cleans up a lot faster then a 40 Foot Trailer with Three Slide Toppers, along with Solar Panels and Wiring all over the Roof. He was having a Beer before I had our Solar Panels secured in their flat position. That was when I realized that I never took any Before and After Pictures.
By this time it had already cooled down outside.
It was after 3:30 when I went inside for brief rest even though I had consumed lots of liquids my strength seemed to leave me. More water was consumed before I took a shower to cool down. I had plenty of Hot Water without using the Water Heater. It was at that point I checked the weather history and saw that I had been scrubbing the Roof for Three Hours in 102 F (39 C) direct Sunlight.
By the time we got here some passing clouds appeared.
Kathy didn’t want me working or grilling supper outside in the heat the rest of the day and since we were going out we headed over to McDonald’s in Essex for supper. Since they have discontinued our favourite Sweet Chili Wraps we had their new Caesars Chicken Wrap along with their Blueberry/Pomegranate Smoothie for our drink. It was filling, healthy and the drink refreshing but their prices have gotten very expensive.
We arrived at our daughter-in-law Jen’s house right at 6:00 and were followed minutes later by her parents as well as her sister’s family. Just Nine Days ago we all got together to celebrate Connor’s Graduation from Grade Eight. Today we were getting together to celebrate Haigan’s Twelfth Birthday. The boys played a Video Game while the adults had a chance to visit. We exchanged Desert Stories with Jack and Sue who travelled to Arizona Two Years ago.
Haigan appreciated his gifts and we all enjoyed some of his Cake along with the Ice Cream. Time flies when you are having fun and it was past 8:30 when we said our see you laters.
Tomorrow we have another Graduation to take care of along with an Anniversary. Thankfully things slow down in July. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Turned Around On Back Roads, Happy Birthday Wish and Severe Storm Warnings.

Due to my late posting last night it was past 8:00 when I had the chance to see the temperatures this morning were already in the low Seventies. There wasn’t much of a shock looking at the afternoon Humidex either. Compared to last year when we started with those back in the middle of May and saw very few days below the Century Mark until the end of September. That turned into a costly season because the AC was being used almost continuously that entire time. We know that sooner or later we’ll have to run the AC but we’ll avoid it as much as we can.
Lower right corner is the forecasted Humidex for this afternoon.
After having breakfast we checked what there was on our Computers. The forecast was showing an Alert for Severe Storm Warnings for our area.

There were a number of Blogs we follow that had not written in some time so there was catching up to do. Once I had my inside chores completed I was heading out the door while Kathy planned on staying Home.

Someone that we know suggested a Local Shop might just have what we are looking for so on the off chance that’s where I headed. Since this place never advertised having such things I really wasn’t disappointed when they didn’t have it.
Our Day Lilies have started blooming.
I’d also planned on visiting with Gay for a short while but instead of taking the Main Road to his place I took the unfamiliar Back Roads. Before I knew it I was in the town of Harrow. It has been ages since the last time I was there and was surprised on a number of things that had changed.

After turning around and heading back on County Road 11 it wasn’t long before I was talking with Gay. He and Bill were working on his Street Rod that he has been working on for over a year. His hobby has helped him to get through the loss of Lizzy just before Christmas last year. It was her Living Wake that we delayed our departure last fall so we could attend. I got some information from him that will help our son Kevin when it comes to registering his Street Rod. Gay unfortunately didn’t know where I could find what I was looking for.

It was shortly after noon by the time I got back Home. Kathy was still handling the heat at the moment with just the Door, Windows and Vents open. We had Tuna Sandwiches for lunch along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert.
The Heat was starting to get to Kathy so we did a quick check of things we needed and headed for Amherstburg in our Air Conditioned Car. Our destination was the No-Frills grocery store. We took our time checking all the aisles and finding almost everything.
We headed over to Dollarama and managed to find the missing item on our list.

Even though our Temperature Gauge was showing 93 F (34 C) the Humidex made it feel warmer. We stopped at McDonald’s to get a Blueberry/Pomegranate Smoothie to help us cool down.

We made a quick stop at Kevin and Melissa’s. I gave Kevin the information that I had gotten from Gay and we wished Melissa a Happy Birthday. With the groceries in the Car we didn’t stay long.
Our neighbour's Day Lilies.
As soon as we were Home we turned on the Air Conditioning. Once the groceries were put away I checked The Weather Network to find the Humidex had reached 106 F (41 C). When you put up with the Heat that long it slowly wears you down. With the AC going before we knew it we both had Snaps (Short Naps). We had planned that I would grill supper tonight but suddenly there was Rain and Distant Thunder. It only lasted for an Hour but we decided to simply have Toast and Fruit for supper.

When we have cooler days we will be shutting the AC to keep our costs down. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Long Day Report, Fellow Bloggers Lose Their Pet and The Heat Has Arrived.

Wednesday morning we only had enough time to quickly look at our Computers before heading out the door shortly after 10:00 to go to Windsor
Our first stop was Fantastic Sam’s to get our Haircuts. It seems the warmer weather makes one’s Hair grow faster so we needed a quick trim. Even with the Three Hairstylists going non-stop the place was constantly packed because others were having the same issues. We were fortunate that we had appointments with Jenna who keeps our hair looking proper and has the daunting task of straightening it up every year when we return from the US.
From there we stopped at Vital Aire to see if our Back-Ordered Stock had arrived. It’s been over Six Weeks and there’s no sign of it yet ???? We might have to look for a new supplier.
Next we stopped at Guardian Storage to get our lone piece of Mail.
Since it was nearly 1:00 by this time we stopped at Wendy’s where we ordered off the Value Menu. We had Two Chicken Wraps, Two Small Chocolate Frosties to cool us down and Two Senior’s Soft Drinks all for the total price of $7.19 and it left us both satisfied.
We headed back out to Wildwood Golf and RV Park in McGregor where the place was packed with Golfers everywhere. We had to use our Ceiling Vent Fans to help cool the Trailer down. We both took showers to cool down and to wash away any loose Hair Clippings.
Day Lillies are starting to blossom in our garden.
We accomplished additional Computer reading before once again heading back towards Windsor. Since we are trying to avoid using the AC in the Trailer as much as we can and it was Too Hot to cook inside the Trailer we decided to again eat out.
We chose to eat at the Wendy’s location that was much closer to our destination so we headed to the Pic wik Shopping Center. We had a big surprise when we arrived to find most of the Parking Lot torn up with Heavy Equipment and Dump Trucks parked all over the place. When we saw people entering the building behind a Safety Fence we also found our way inside. According to the shift Manager the work started on Monday and will be completed by Friday afternoon. We had the same as we had for lunch.
(L-R) Kylla, Kathy and Denise
We arrived to the pandemonium of the W.F.C.U (Windsor Family Credit Union) Arena by 6:00. There was no game on this evening but Graduation Ceremonies for Saint Anne’s High School Students. We finally met up with Karen, Greg, Denise and Peter before heading inside the Arena to sit together and await the arrival of our granddaughter Kylla.
The Ceremonies began at exactly 7:00 when all 209 Graduating Students were lead out by their Principle and Teachers. It was nearly 8:00 before they started giving out the Diplomas and Awards for special achievements. One thing this School is known for is making certain that their Students know their work. To be on their Honour Roll you must have a Grade Average of 80% or better. Over 150 of all those students were on the Honour Roll for the Class of 2019 and our grandson Tyler was one of those.
Tyler is in the group on the Left.
There's Tyler.
Using the Canon DSLR with the Sigma 18-200 Zoom Lens was the best choice for this occasion. It allowed me to zoom in on the stage and afterwards to get special pictures up close and personal.
Principle addressing the Graduates.
Valedictorian addressing graduates. 98.3% Grade Average
throughout High School.
When the Main Ceremony was over Tyler was one of the first to hand in his Cap and Gown. I later found out that he had worked all day in this hot weather so he was in no mood for being all spiffy after that long day.
Sanford getting a treat from Kathy.
We headed over to Karen and Greg’s house where Sanford thought that everyone was coming to see him. The first thing he did was to bring out his newest toy to show everyone.
Tyler just got his Diploma from the Principle.
Tyler appreciated all the Gifts that he received. We then enjoyed a piece of Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream and a cup of Tea before the party started to break up. Tyler had to go to work this morning. Denise and Peter had a Three Hour Drive before they would get home.
Graduation Caps fill the air.
It was nearly 11:00 when we arrived Home and with over a Hundred Pictures to edit I was just too tired to post them last night.
(L-R) Karen, Tyler and Greg.
The only Blog I read last night was Chillin With Patsy where the Title suggested something was Seriously Wrong. It was and near the end it said how she and Bill lost their beloved 14 year old Clemson. He was a cute little guy and we even had the chance to pet him a few times. We express our deepest condolences on their loss. We both know the Heartbreak involved in loosing our Fur Friends that we have had in the past. When we chose to go Fulltime decided it was better to enjoy other people’s pets.
(L-R) Myself, Karen, Tyler, Greg and Kathy
Even with all the Windows and Roof Vents left open with no breeze moving the air last night the 68 F (20 C) felt much warmer. We both slept until after 8:00 this morning.
Even with the warmer temperatures the most satisfying thing we could think of for lunch was Minestrone Soup. From all the years in the Casting Industry I learned that having Hot Drinks or Meals during this type of heat is healthier for your body. Kathy disagreed because she starts to sweat when she eats an Ice Cream Cone in the Winter but she ate most of it.
(L-R) Myself, Denise, Tyler, Peter and Kathy.
I took the Truck over to the Park Trash and Recycle Area to clean out the back before heading out of the Park itself. Heading for Windsor I once again stopped at one of the places in Oldcastle that I have looked before. It still amazes me that Their Website says they have what we need but when I’m there in person they say they don’t have any.
Proud mom Karen, Tyler and Smiling sister Kylla.
From there I headed to LaSalle to a new location. Looking for the same thing they didn’t have it either. The worst part was the Parking Lot was on One Side of the building and the Entrance was a Thousand Feet to the other side of the building on this Hot Sunny Day.
Tired Tyler opening his gifts.
Heading through LaSalle I was amazed to see Transit Windsor Buses travelling all over. When I told Kathy about that when I got Home she could not believe it. She did a lot of walking in her growing years because the Bus stopped Five Miles from where she lived.
Yummy Cake.
I spent the remainder of the afternoon making a few more appointments and researching outside of our immediate area in search of what we need.
Notice 38% humidity.
Today our Humidex was only 95 F (35 C). As in the past on many of these days it is not because of the High Humidity level we have that makes it so warm. On these days the Humidity level drops below the 50% level. Our forecast for the near future is showing many of these High Humidex Days above the Century Mark heading our way.
I grilled a store bought Parisian Thin Crust Pizza on our Weber Q for our supper. It kept things cooler in the Trailer
Tomorrow we’ll try getting a few more things completed before it gets Too Hot. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
