Caught A Bug, Minor Chores, Getting Supplies and Visits.

Neither of us had any problems sleeping last night as we listened to the sound of the Rain tapping on our roof. When I opened my eyes this morning it was nice seeing Sunlight seeping along the edges of our Window Shades. I managed to get my usual chores along with some early morning reading on the Computer done before I heard Kathy getting out of bed.

When she finally made it to the table Kathy was not in the best of shape. Kathy has what her former Doctor called a Weakened Immune System. If someone coughs or sneezes across the room Kathy will catch it. Even though my aunt Anna’s Birthday Party was held at the Devonshire Retirement Home there were residents walking past the room that were sneezing and coughing. Kathy was feeling nauseous and achy all over this morning.

While we were enjoying our second hot beverage of the morning we received a call from our daughter Karen. We try to visit with her on Sundays but it’s not always possible because of her busy schedule. Her friend that knows we like Rhubarb had dropped some off for us. She had a few errands to do this afternoon but would be home after supper.
I managed to get my inside chores finished and had started making some Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch while Kathy’s eyes were closed for a bit at her Computer. We’d been sent Home with a piece of Birthday Cake yesterday so we shared that for our dessert.

Feeling slightly better after eating Kathy wanted to do some On-Line Banking while I went outside to do a few things. Along with the Rain we’ve been getting lately we have also gotten a lot of Wind. We have a couple of potted Miniature Pine Trees that keep getting toppled. Once they were righted I figured out the solution. I removed One of the Propane Tanks which meant we now had Two that are empty. I then emptied the back of the Truck out making certain to wear my Back-Belt when lifting our Honda Generator. With the Gasoline in the tank it weighs 165 Pounds. After securing the Propane Tanks in the Truck it was time to change and relax for a bit.
We headed out shortly after 4:00 but didn’t get too far as we saw the Ditches and Farmers Fields filled with Water from last night’s Rain.
We headed into Windsor to go to the east-end Canadian Tire store. We needed supplies to stop our Miniature Pine Trees from toppling as well as other gardening supplies including Two new Golden Spruce Trees to replace a couple that died. This is also the only Canadian Tire store with a Propane Fill Station in Windsor. Since we pay for Propane by the size of Tank in Ontario we are filling and not the amount of Propane I make certain that they are Empty.
It was past 5:00 by the time everything was secured in the Truck so we headed over to Taco Bell for supper. It was packed and with Two People taking orders plus the Drive Thru the kitchen staff kept those orders coming.
We arrived at our daughter Karen’s house around 6:00. The minute Sanford saw us arrive he got all excited and started hauling out all the toys we’ve given him in the past to show us that he still had them. We visited with Karen, Tyler, Kylla and Cody for a while. Karen’s backyard also has a drainage issue and has standing Water in some areas from all the Rain.
We left shortly after 8:00 to head for Home but we decided to stop at McDonald’s for a Blueberry/Pomegranate Smoothie. As we were walking in Joe a Millwright that I worked with for nearly Thirty Years was coming out with his wife. We spent nearly Ten Minutes talking before say our Good-Byes.
Even though The Weather Network said there would be no more Rain today the Clouds were very threatening. We didn’t get any Rain but the temperature dropped and we could hear distant Thunder. We’ll see what we get done tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  4. Sorry Kathy is not feeling well. I'm surprised she went out with you and hope she didn't 'share' it with all the people you met. Love that Sanford brought his toys out, my brother's Jack Russel used to bring his toys out by name. So smart!
Feel better Kathy. Stay home and cuddle under a warm blanket - take advantage! :)
