New Medications, New Store and New Look.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

After the last few days of Fresh Air and working bent over to straighten up our Gardens I slept until 7:30 this morning. I managed to get a few things accomplished by 8:00 when Kathy joined me downstairs. We had breakfast and settled in at the Computers to have our Coffee/Tea.
Years ago if a Doctor would change your Medication the Pharmacies would give you the full dosage. The problem with that was some people would have reactions and the rest of those pills would go to waste. In the last couple of years in Ontario if a Doctor changes your Medication the Pharmacies are only allowed to issue a 30 Day Supply. Once they are certain the Medication will work then they will issue the remainder of the Prescription. This morning I had to call our Pharmacy to pick up more of Kathy’s Medications.
After completing our inside chores and making a Shopping List we were on our way out the door. The forecast called for seasonal temperatures today but with near 25 MPH Wind Gusts it would feel cooler.
We arrived at Pharma Choice in Amherstburg before 11:00. Since this is considered a small town Pharma Choice closes for the weekend at 2:00 on Saturdays. They explained that the remainder of the Prescription was in the bag and the next time we would get the entire thing at the same time as the others Medications are issued.
Looking at the sign you can see lots of nests.
Our next stop was Dollarama where Kathy needed some Wrapping Supplies. Walking in to the store we could hear all the Baby Birds squawking for food because the Nests had been built into the Dollarama Sign.
Our next stop was the No-Frills grocery store. We needed a number of things and were soon walking out with Three Bags of Food.
If there is one thing that is a real Turn-Off when buying Meat is to walk in a store and smell Blood. Our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa have been telling us about where they have been purchasing all their Meats for the last couple of years. They guaranteed us that we would like there. When we walked into Wigle’s Meats and Deli what we smelled was Bleach. This was set up just like the Butcher Shop my mother used to go to. Kathy was really impressed with the Quality of the Meat and the Price was compatible with those of the grocery stores. She chose what she wanted and it was all wrapped in the Traditional Butchers Paper. We’ll be going back there in the future.
19th Hole Restaurant at the front of our park.
As we headed for Home we realized that it was past 1:30 and we were hungry. We thought about going to the Michigan Dinner in Essex but that was Eight Miles past the Park. We decided to go to the 19th Hole Restaurant instead because they serve a nice Perch meal and we haven’t been there yet this year. We were not disappointed as they serve quality food.
Our Meat purchases
After having our lunch we headed Home and worked together to put the Groceries away. With more Rain forecasted for late Sunday it was after 3:00 when I went out to get some painting done. After setting up our Picnic Table on the Plastic Tarp I started getting everything else ready.
We have a Post that was in our yard before we moved here. It has our Site Number with a Solar Light, our Rain Gauge, a Poker for our Fire Pit and a Hanging Flower Pot on it. It also had Decorative Edging Bricks and Stone around the base that needed to be moved so no paint would drip on them. With the steady breeze that we were having it didn’t take long for anything to dry and it all looks nice and fresh.
With so much Paint still left Kathy suggested painting the Two Small Skids that we travel with. One is used to sit our Honda Generator on so if it Rains (like this past Winter) it stays High and Dry. The second is used to cradle our Fresh Water and Waste Barrels in the back of our Truck. It was after 7:00 when we called it a day.
For supper Kathy made what she called Mixed Fruit Belgium Waffles. They tasted slightly different from the normal Whipped Cream and Strawberries but they were really good.
While Kathy did the Dishes I had to change out some pills in her Doucette. With more Doctor’s visits and Tests that require a complete list of Medications and Surgical History for both of us it was past 9:00 before I got that completed.
Tomorrow the first thing I need to do is empty the back of the Truck out. Between Yard Waste and Trash it’s due. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  4. Such a nice garden you have and painting everything makes it look new and fresh. It's nice you found an old fashioned butcher shop. Around here they are a thing of the past.

  6. That is a good idea to only fill half of the meds. Wonder if we can request this for new medications.
