Cool Night, Going Our Separate Ways and Christmas Movies.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Other then waking a couple times because the outside temperature of 18 F (-8 C) seemed to lower our inside temperature we slept fairly soundly last night. The best part was when I was able to watch the Sunrise coming up this morning beyond another Apartment Building before sliding behind a wall of Clouds that had filled the sky. Not as dramatic as an Arizona Sunrise but pretty close.

I managed to get some of my morning Computer reading done before Kathy joined me for breakfast.

We settled in at the Computers finishing our morning drinks. As I was getting lunch ready our daughter Karen called. She asked Kathy if she would be able to help her organize her kitchen Cupboards. It just seemed everything is always too far away from where she is preparing food and she knows that Kathy is good at that.

Since we weren’t sure what our afternoon would bring we decided on a lunch similar to last night’s supper Soup and Sandwiches. We had Campbell’s Italian Wedding Soup along with another Grilled Cheese Sandwich and a Chocolate Pudding Cup for dessert. It was satisfying without being too filling.

Since I wanted to try to work at the Trailer today we went our separate ways. Kathy headed to Karen’s house in Tecumseh with the Car. I did a quick change around moving the Pills and Vitamins from the smaller Doucettes to the larger ones. I then cleaned up the Dishes before getting the Trash and Recycle packed up then taken downstairs.

Even though it was warmer then yesterday with the Wind making it feel like 43 F (6 C) I had to dress for it. Heading out to the parking lot the way our building and the one next to us are positioned they funnel the Wind making it feel even colder.

Heading towards Lauzon Road with the Truck I had to Detour because the road was blocked off with several Power Company Trucks parked across the road.

My first stop was Home Depot to find a piece of wood that I could use to rebuild the Shelves in the front Cabinet in our Trailer. The only thing the right size was a piece of Oak for Twenty Dollars. Didn’t get it.

I headed over towards Guardian Storage but the Railway Barriers were down. After Ten Minutes of No Train cars were turning around to get around this. Even though I was only a Half Mile from my destination I had to drive Ten Miles to get around. It was during that drive that as I was passing a beautiful looking Hawk on a Power Wire that I realized I had left the Camera back at the Apartment.

Finally arriving at the Storage Yard the first thing I did was collect our Mail. Even though there was nothing there the other day it was full today.

Without any material there wasn’t much I could do so I headed towards Jefferson Avenue. The Railway Barriers were still down with vehicles still turning around. That was nearly an Hour since it first closed the crossing.

I stopped at Lowe’s and even though I didn’t find exactly the piece of wood that I needed it only cost $2.00 for a piece that I will make work.

Kathy let me know she was home so that’s where I headed. When I got there she explained that she needed to detour on her way to Karen’s because the Power Company Trucks had the road blocked off at Lesperance Road.

My Meat Pie with Salsa.

For supper we had a couple of personal sized Tourtieres made by the company St. Hubert. We’ve talked about trying different ready made foods before that we can have on hand for a quick meal when needed. If they don’t taste good they never get a second chance. Even though they taste great as they are Kathy uses Ketchup on her’s while I prefer Salsa.

On the 6 o’clock Local News a few more Coronavirus Cases with warmer wet weather coming our way. Tonight like most of North America we turn our Clocks back to Eastern Standard Time. The Province of Ontario has a Bill in the House to leave Ontario on Daylight Savings Time forever. More US States are starting to do the same thing.

We watched a Hallmark Christmas Movie tonight. They’re getting earlier all the time. Not much warmer tomorrow so we’ll see what we do. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

No SXXW, Blogger Time Change, Talking To Mark and Good Workout.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Normally when there is a Full Moon the experts say all the Crazies come out and you have trouble sleeping. As we head towards Saturday’s Full Moon Kathy and I seem to be sleeping better. Does that make us weird?

I was up by 8:00 and Kathy needed extra sleep so it gave me a chance to check out the weather. Looking outside the ground appeared to be damp but it wasn’t White. Checking The Weather Network it showed the temperature at Freezing with a feel like temp of 21 F (-6 C). I didn’t even think to take a picture.

When I checked the sidebar on our Blog I noticed that it was listing our post as having been posted Twelve Hours before I posted it last night. ??? I remember having issues like that with the Older Blogger Format but not this one. With posts not immediately showing up on the sidebar it is hard to keep track of that. A trip into the Post Editing I was able to change the time of the posting.

After Computer reading and morning chores I started making Vegetable Soup for lunch while Kathy made dessert plates with Pecan Tarts, Yogurt Cups and a shared Apple.

After letting our lunch settle while working at the Computers our phone rang. When I started talking freely about our Finances Kathy suddenly started to panic thinking I was being Scammed but she breathed a sigh of relief when she found out it was Mark our Financial Adviser. He lie many others is working from Home Three Days a week while going to the Office Two Days. Since we’ve known Mark for Fifteen Years as a Friend and an Adviser we shot the breeze for a few extra minutes.

Kathy was busy checking through some of our Files while I finally got around to exercising. It’s been at least Four Days since my last workout so it nearly felt like I was starting over again but I did get a good Hour of Weights and Stretching.

For supper we decide to have Chicken Noodle Soup along with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. A satisfying meal.

Two and a Half Hours later the Wind Chill improved.

On the 6 o’clock Local News the temperature will be below freezing tonight but no SXXW. A few more Coronavirus Cases but none Hospitalized. A reminder to turn our Clocks back on Sunday.

We’ll figure out what to do with our day tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Good Sleep, CPAPs Explained, Updating Document and Balcony Closed.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We don’t know what happen last night but we both slept like a couple of rocks and neither of us took anything to help with that. I don’t even recall rolling over and the first time I looked at the Clock it was 8:00 in the morning. Kathy joined me almost an Hour later.

We set about doing our usual work and reading on the Computers before noon. In response to a few Comments that we have gotten both Kathy and I use our CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) Machines nightly. When one has Sleep Apnea you stop breathing many times throughout your sleep period. Your body is not rebuilding its Blood Oxygen which can eventually lead to a Heart Attack, Stroke or Death. The few times that we have had Power Outages and were forced to spend only Half the night without them it took nearly a week before we fully recovered. That was also why I installed Pure Sine Wave Inverters in our RVs so we never had to worry about loosing Power.

When it came time to make lunch I didn’t want Kathy getting tired of soup or grilled cheese sandwiches so I made French Toast. Kathy enjoyed every bite of them but still topped them off with a Cinnamon Twist for our dessert.

We enjoyed our Tea while back at the Computers. After reading the Information Sheet that Kathy had been given originally for the Canceled Surgery I found that she would need to stop taking any kind of Blood Thinners that she could be taking. Since I fill our Pill Doucettes and track our medications on the Computer I highlighted a few before making a call. I called the Pharma Choice drug store we deal with in Amherstburg and talked with Steve the Pharmacist. He confirmed that only One of Six I suspected needed to be stopped but he surprised me when he mentioned that Fish Oil Vitamins are also used as a Blood Thinner.

Needing to move around we cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen rather then waiting until after supper.

With Freezing Temperatures and Mixed Precipitation forecasted for the next few nights Kathy wanted to finish getting things on the Balcony closed up. We worked together to wrap our Two Potted Pine Trees. Being on the Eighth Floor they need the added protection. Working on a Plastic Sheet inside our living room it was more comfortable then the 52 F (11 C) with the Gusting Wind outside. Now they’ll survive the winter with no damage to any branches.

Since Kathy’s Medications have recently been changed with the upcoming surgery I have to make adjustments to her List she presents to the Doctors. When I originally made this File on my Computer I was using Microsoft Office. When my Hard Drive needed to be replaced I lost Microsoft and started using the free version of Libre Office. It removed pictures of the Pills so I spent the remainder of the afternoon reworking Kathy’s Medication List. Now it looks better and is up to date.

For supper we had Macaroni and Cheese along with a cup of Tea.

On the 6 o’clock Local News we had Two more Coronavirus Cases in our area due to close contact. We’ll definitely be freezing tonight along with SXXW. It should melt during the day.

We’ll see what we’ll be doing tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

New Surgery Date, Taking Care Of Business and Doctor’s Pleas.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to Enlarge.

Last night after drinking a Sleepy-Time Tea and only taking the Melatonin Tablets I basically slept the same as the night before.

When I saw 8:00 on the Clock this morning I didn’t hesitate to start my day. I had not even gotten out of the bathroom when the phone started ringing. At 8:12 in the morning a Doctor’s Office calling to speak to Kathy. They definitely woke her up.

When the Coronavirus shut everything down in at the end of March we were notified that Kathy’s Surgery that was Planned for August would have to be rescheduled but they had no idea when. Today the Specialist’s Office was calling to schedule the new date. Heck all that before breakfast. Don’t they realize we’re Retired?

For lunch we had Chicken with Wild Rice Soup along with a Pecan Tart and Mixed Berries covered with Frozen Vanilla Yogurt for dessert.

Once lunch had settled I went out on the Balcony to replace the Outer AC Sleeve Cover which will keep us warmer through the winter. At 50 F (10 C) it was a little brisk but I wasn’t out there that long.

I started to exercise but we needed to take care of business so I stopped. Before we knew it was time to make supper.

Wanting something quick we had a Store Bought Thin Crust Hawaiian Pizza. It only took Fifteen Minutes in the oven and a Minute to serve along with a bottle of Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine).

Watching the 6 o’clock Local News we have colder temperatures heading our way and only One new Coronavirus Case in our area. A number of Doctors in the Greater Toronto Area tried pleading with people to wear Masks as a way of stopping the spread of the Virus. They are saying that lots of times people don’t know they Carriers spreading it. Masks also protects you the wearer from getting sick. The Markets all took a hit today.

We’ll see what we do tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Changing Weather, Bargains and News.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to Enlarge.

Last night I pulled out all the stops to be certain that I’d get a decent night’s sleep. Before going to bed I took a Tylenol Night-Time Tablet with body pain control as well as Two 3 mg Melatonin Tablets. I didn’t care that I would probably sleep in. It didn’t work! I would fall asleep but wake up every time I turned over which was probably every Half Hour. As far as the sleeping in I got up out of frustration before 7:00 this morning.

Since I was tossing and turning so much I was also waking Kathy slightly each time. With everything ready to make breakfast I managed to have most of my morning reading on the Computer finished before Kathy got up at slightly after 9:00.

Even with the Blinds open we needed the Lights turned on. The Clouds almost let the Sun shine through for a Minute before totally hiding it for the rest of the day. Even with the heat turned on in the Apartment there was still a chill in the air. Just before starting to make lunch we could see Puddles starting to build in the parking lot.

Knowing we needed to get some groceries today we made our late lunch our large meal for the day. We used the last of the Leftover Pulled Pork on open faced Hamburger Buns along with Cookies, Oranges and Yogurt Cups for dessert. We cleaned up the Dishes before getting ready to leave.

With the Rain coming down fairly steady and the temperature sitting at 43 F (6 C) we needed to wear clothing more suited to the weather. At least we weren’t needing to wear Winter Coats like some parts of the Province were having to do.

With our Shopping List in hand and Masks on our faces we headed straight to Zehr’s grocery store. We needed an assortment of items in the Dairy, Produce, Frozen Foods and Canned Goods. We had planned on buying Bread and Hamburger Buns here but with the price being much higher then the dollar store we held off. If you recall just over a month ago I mentioned the price of Canned Soup had dramatically increased to $3.49 a can. The tags on the shelves indicated that today was the last day they were “On Sale” for $2.00 each. Since my Pension Cheque comes in on the First of the month we only planned on getting what we needed until then but with Low Prices like that we stocked up.

We ended up stopping at Dollarama for a loaf of Bread and a package of Hamburger Buns. We saved Three Dollars by doing that.

It was past 4:30 and we knew we’d be busy putting things away when we got home so using a Coupon we got went to the Taco Bell Drive-Thru where we ordered our supper. It had been a while since we ate there but we enjoyed every bite of the meal.

It was still Raining when we got back to the building so I dropped Kathy at the front entrance and drove around to the back. By the time I arrived there she had gotten a Shopping Cart so I could load our groceries. Kathy brought the Cart upstairs to the Apartment while I parked the Car. We didn’t take as long as we expected to put things away because there was lots of empty space in our Pantry Shelves.

We watched the 6 o’clock Local News where they warned us of below Freezing temperatures tonight. Our area had another Coronavirus Case today. They mentioned that Police had issued a Ticket to a Local Home Owner that was having a party over the weekend where there were over Fifty People inside a house with no Masks and no Social Distancing by anyone there. The Police had been called at 1:30 in the morning about Loud Music being played.

Tonight I’m trying Sleepy-Time Tea in hopes that I can sleep. We’ve got a few things we want to do tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

What Sleep, Turned The Heat On and Numbers Slowly Climbing.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to Enlarge.

After only One good night’s sleep I was back to staring at the ceiling, constantly turning over and looking at the Clock. Finally at 3:30 I got up to take an Extra Strength Tylenol. By 4:00 I could barely keep my eyes open so I headed back to bed only to start staring at the ceiling, constantly turning over and looking at the Clock all over again. I think that every time I actually drifted off to sleep I would immediately wake up.

Rather then continuing to look at the Clock after 8:00 I simply got up and stumbled through my early morning duties. When I toss around like that at night it also affects Kathy’s sleep so it was not a problem when she slept until nearly 9:00.

When we returned to the Computers I could barely focus on the screen. Even though Kathy suggested that I lay down for a Nap I worked around it. I try to avoid Naps when I have nights like that so I will sleep at night and not let my Biological Clock change my sleep schedule.

Wanting something different for lunch we had Macaroni and Cheese along with Cookies, Oranges and Chocolate Pudding Cups. Unlike yesterday when Kathy did give me a Chocolate Croissant because she was running low on Cookies and she doesn’t like the Dollarama Croissants.

I was surprised after lunch to find that the Thermostats had been turned up in the Apartment. It was always Kathy who was finding the Apartment too warm so we had not turned on the Heat. With our outside high reaching 46 F (8 C) today she was feeling chilled. Maybe we’ll sleep better tonight.

It was nearly 2:00 when we finished lunch and even though I had Planned to workout I just could not muster the energy to do so.

We watched the 6 o’clock Local News where we had another Coronavirus Case in our area. The Local Health Unit was concerned that the numbers are again going up mostly due to people not wearing Masks when out in public which is how we got out numbers down the first time. We’ll be seeing temperatures below the Freezing Mark overnight.

It was past 7:00when we decided to have something to eat for supper, Since there was lots of Leftover Pulled Pork I suggested we have that. That’s what Kathy served me but chose to have Peanut Butter on a Bun instead because this Pork is a little too spicy for her liking.

I’m making certain I’ll sleep tonight. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

The Clock Did It, Cleaning Up and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to Enlarge.

We both slept so soundly last night we slightly over slept this morning but it wasn’t our fault. We both have a tendency to look at the Clock in our bedroom throughout the night and basically use that as a reference as to when we get up. The Digital Clocks we have were both purchased in 2004 as replacements to those we lost in a House Fire. They were programmed to change their time according to Daylight Savings Time as it was that year. Since then DST has been changed to start Three Weeks earlier and One Week later. When I looked at the Clock at 7:00 I simply rolled over for a few more minutes of rest not realizing the Clock had ended its DST programming through the night.

It was only minutes later when Kathy joined me. I was still in the process of getting things ready for breakfast. It was a typical morning enjoying our hot brews while trying to catch up on what is happening in the world on our Computers as well as doing our morning chores.

When it came time for lunch today we had Campbell’s Italian Wedding Soup along with Grapes, Cookies and Yogurt Cups for dessert.

When we finished our lunch drinks Kathy enlisted my help. She always accomplishes a lot of cleaning and dusting throughout the Apartment but she can’t move our Recliner Love-Seat because it’s just too heavy. This was only the second time that she had me move it so you can imaging how much Dust there was underneath. I also moved the End-Tables as well so we should be breathing much better.

For supper Kathy had a craving for Pancakes so I had mine with Butter and she had her’s with Chocolate Chips in it.

We finished just as the 6 o’clock Local News was starting. Our temperatures are going to dip below seasonal in the next couple of days. Ontario recorded its highest one day Coronavirus Case increase since March.

We watched the special “First Ladies” tonight and learned a lot about Eleanor Roosevelt. She was an activist before her time and used her position as First Lady to help accomplish many of those changes.

With cooler temperatures heading our way we’ve got things to do. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
