We were both a little surprised that we were having breakfast by 8:30 this morning. Looking outside it looked like a typical Summer day but when we cracked open the Balcony Door we were reminded that it is Fall by the chilly breeze.

During breakfast we thought of things we wanted to do because these nice weather days will soon be coming to an end. After spending time on the Computers enjoying our Coffees it was determined that today was perfect for getting out. The temperature would be moderate with little Humidity and there would only be as light breeze compared to the Windy days to come.

With the morning chores completed we decided on a moderate lunch. We had Split Pea with Ham Soup along with a shared Orange, Pecan Tart and Yogurt Cup for dessert.

We were better organized today and were downstairs with our Tandem Bicycle before 1:00. Kathy had suggested we go for a visit so we headed west out of the parking lot. When we got to the very next street we spotted a house that is already for Halloween. They actually installed a portable fence to protect their display. Most of us associate clowns with something Funny but this place put clowns at the top of the Horror list.

Continuing down the Trail we were nearly at Lauzon Road when I remembered we needed to go to the drug store. Turning up towards Wyandotte it didn’t take long to arrive at the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart. Kathy stayed with the Bike while I went inside to get what we needed. This is a smaller outlet then most so they didn’t carry a few things we wanted to pick up. That’s fine we’ll go to another Shoppers next Thursday so we can again take advantage of Seniors Day where we saved Twenty Percent just by being a Senior.

We continued riding up Wyandotte until we reached Buckingham and headed North. When we reached Riverside Drive we used the Sidewalk for a couple hundred feet. We had arrived at our friend Vera’s Condo Building. Using my Cell Phone I called her home number letting it ring for nearly Three Minutes before hanging up. Remembering that her Answering Machine normally picked up sooner I tried her Cell Phone. It immediately went to Voice Mail that said it was Full and we should notify the Owner of the number the next time we saw them.

If you recall Two Years ago Vera had a Severe Fall that required months of Hospitalization. It took Vera Two Hours before she dragged herself to a phone that day. Remembering that and not getting any answer had me thinking the worst. I had Kathy go talk to the Doorman in case history was repeating itself while I parked the Bike.

Vera answered her Phone as soon as the Doorman called. Vera invited us up but I had removed the Bike Lock when we shipped the Trailer in August and had not replaced it. I told Kathy to go visit and I would guard the Bike. Moving it away from the entrance the Doorman came out and said the Bike was then on Camera and he would watch it while we visited with Vera.

Vera had been indisposed when I first called and just before she could answer I hung up. We had Tea while we got caught up on what was happening. Kathy expressed how she felt cooped up due to the Virus but Vera reminded her that we were together where she is alone. We talked about a number of things and before we knew it Two Hours had passed. We gave Hugs before we left. Thanking the Doorman we were soon on our way home.

It was nearly 5:00 by the time I had covered and secured our Tandem Bicycle to out Balcony Rail. While Kathy caught her breathe I cooked up an Omelette with Chopped Celery, Onions and Peppers before sharing it on Toast as a Sandwich.

The 6 o’clock Local News had the same things to report about the Virus, Politics and Local Jobs they’ve been saying for over a week.

We spent a couple hours watching US News. The FBI thwarted a plot by a Michigan Militia to Kidnap and Execute the Governor along with killing a number of Police. Their hopes were to start a Civil War in the United States. There are other Militias also being investigated in other states.

The President is threatening Canada to reopen the International Border to non-essential travel. Personally I don’t think so. We would definitely see a spike in Coronavirus Cases. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Nice to see people decorating their homes for Halloween in particular in the middle of this pandemic...the kids deserve it.

I was getting worried as you narrated the Vera story that something bad had happened to her. Glad that was not the case and that you were able to visit with her while the nice doorman looked after your tandem bike.

It is a shame what happened in Michigan but even more so when the current occupant of the White House refuses to call out white supremacy groups.

  2. I love Halloween ... the scarier the decorations, the better. We have people here who actually make walk through haunted houses in their yard. Pretty fun!!

  3. It's funny how into Halloween people get. I like it, but Christmas is my favorite. Our neighbors go all out, as Halloween is her favorite! Nice you got out to see Vera again! I know she appreciates the time and you got the exercise!
