Restless Night, Thanksgiving Celebration and “Jackie Kennedy”.

As tired as we were last night Kathy didn’t fall into a deep sleep until after 4:00 while I just seemed to wake every hour. We figured it out when we sat down for breakfast this morning that we had shut the Bedroom Window. The forecasted Rain that did not appear yesterday seemed to have been reschedule through the night and with the South Wind it would have been blown directly into our Apartment.

The trees are changing colours at different speeds.

We spent most of the morning on the Computers only stopping long enough to do our morning chores. Those movements alone helped Kathy to stay awake.

Egg ruptured when placed on the table.

Wanting something for lunch that we haven’t had in some time we made Eggs-over-easy with Toast. Thinking that would not be enough we also had a Date Square along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert. It was a perfect mix that was not overfilling.

Tree tops in a different direction.

We cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen together before sitting for a few more minutes at the Computers so lunch could finish settling. By that time Kathy couldn’t keep her eyes open and I was ready to exercise so while she had a Snap I got through a Single Set of my routine. Kathy felt refreshed and I had taken the edge off my Aches.

As soon as I finished my shower we headed out the door. It was comfortable being in the low Seventies but the Northeast Breeze coming off the Detroit River had Kathy putting on her jacket to protect her shoulders.

We stopped at the Metro grocery store in Tecumseh to pick up some Vanilla Frozen Yogurt. Our next stop was at our daughter Karen’s house. Even though our Canadian Thanksgiving is not until tomorrow with the threat of the second wave of the Coronavirus the Government had recommended smaller gatherings as a way of stopping the spread.

We had the chance to visit with Karen and Greg on the Deck while waiting for Tyler and Jess to arrive. They also brought Nova along so she could visit with Sanford.

Karen decided that instead of the typical Thanksgiving Feast that many of us have rolled away from in the past she lightened it up today. There was Dinner Rolls, Baked Ham, Carrots, Broccoli Salad, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing and Chicken with Dumplings. It was perfect and we could all walk away from the table but only momentarily. That was when Karen served her Homemade Apple Strudel with the Vanilla Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

We sat on the Deck watching Sanford trying to calm and play with Nova. We were being entertained by the antics of Nova as she learns what a puppy is supposed to do. The only thing is at Fifteen Weeks Old this little puppy is nearly Forty Pounds. Luckily Sanford still out-weighs her but at this rate that won’t last long.

It was soon after 7:30 when the cool air started to settle in that Kathy and I thanked our hosts and said Good Night along with Thank Yous for the celebration.

Back at the Apartment we watched the First Ladies special on CNN at 10:00. Tonight the focus was on Jackie Kennedy. I learned a lot more about her in that one hour then I knew during my growing years.

Tonight is supposed to be a clear night so we are leaving the Bedroom Window ajar so we can hopefully sleep like rocks. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. What a delicious Thanksgiving dinner you were treated to!

Nova is growing by leaps and bounds. The trees that survived the Texas drought have not started the changing of the leaves yet like they are in your area.

I liked today's Words of Inspiration.
