Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

It wasn’t hard to believe that Kathy managed to sleep soundly for a second night in a row after we were exposed to all that Fresh Air and Exercise from Saturday’s Bicycle Ride. I wasn’t so lucky. I kept waking every time I rolled over but it wasn’t from Kathy talking in her sleep it was me. I knew that I normally see a Specialist around this time of year but it couldn’t be found on our Calendars. Unfortunately I could not stop thinking about it. Convincing myself that it would be sorted in the morning I finally fell back to sleep.

I was up shortly after 8:00 which gave me time to get things ready for breakfast as well as starting my morning Computer reading. Kathy joined me by 9:00 so we had the chance talk while we ate. It was past 9:30 by the time I called the Specialist’s Office totally expecting to leave a message. Instead I spoke with the Receptionist about not having written the Date down. It’s the day after our Canadian Thanksgiving which is a week away. The problem is I needed to scramble to get my Blood Test done.

Kathy decided to stay home so I was out the door by 10:00 heading for the nearest Dynacare laboratories. There were a few people outside when I got there but the inside had a Dozen People seated. They had removed over half the chairs. Just before they took my information people from the parking area walked up saying they had been texted. I needed to get this test today so what was the wait time? Two Hours.

They took my Cell Number and I returned to the Car. Calling Kathy to let her know she encouraged me to wait it out. I had brought a Coupon we had gotten in the Mail so the plan was I would pick up lunch on the way home. After playing a few puzzles I returned to the door at 1:40 because it was over Three Hours I had waited. I was just about to be texted so instead I was sent in. Without even sitting down I was called in. Five Minutes later they had all the Blood they needed and I was on my way.

Using the Expressway to cross town even with the Construction blocking off a lane I soon stopped at the east end Burger King Drive-Thru to order lunch. I had prepped an Insulated Shopping Bag and that’s where our food went as soon as I got it. Before leaving the lot I called Kathy to say I was on the way.

We knew this would be our big meal of the day and because we have been cutting back on our intake Kathy had a hard time eating it all. We finished eating lunch at 2:30.

Kathy had been cleaning our Bistro Set out on the Balcony while I had been gone so it was time to take a break. Since the temperature only reached a high of 54 F (12 C) and the south Wind was blowing straight into our Apartment we soon closed the door.

We both spent time On-Line catching up on what was happening. When it came time to watch the 6 o’clock Local News there was a Pixelated Picture frozen on the screen but no News. All other channels were working properly but not that one. Calling tech support there was a recorded message showing the problem existed on multiple channels.

We watched a few US news channels, FOX, ABC and CNN that were talking about the President’s Condition after contracting the Coronavirus. Then he was released and flown back to the White House.

Because of our late lunch we only had a Mott’s Frozen Fruit Juice Bar (Icicle) for our supper and were satisfied.

At 10:00 our News Channel was completely blacked out but minutes before 11:00 it was back up and running. The earlier Technical Problem was blamed on a Power Outage that affected Southern Ontario.

This wasn’t what we expected to do today so we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Our local CTV station was off air for quite awhile.

  2. I can sympathize with your long wait. That happens to us all the time...one time as long as five hours.

  3. A three hour wait??? That's crazy. Around here they are not making nearly as many appointments so you barely wait ten minutes.

  4. I constantly work on trying to listen to myself. By this I mean, that nagging feeling... Conversation inside my head 'take the phone with you', 'I don't need the phone, I'll leave it at home'.... Everytime: Car breaks down or some such and need a phone.... MUST listen more.

  5. Having HD over the air TV stations disappear happens here quite frequently in our area. It's a bummer when that happens and something was on that we wanted to watch. Not having a restful night can be very draining the next day. Hopefully both of you will get into a better sleep pattern.

  6. It was like that here too last time I got blood drawn, fill in your info, go to car and they'll text you. I like appt times rather than just wait..learned my lesson! Hoping you both can sleep well! I hate waking up and then my brain wakes and what for, can't do anything in the middle of the night!
