“One Step Forward and Two Steps Backwards” Along With A Different Kind Of Celebration.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Once again even though Kathy got to bed before I did she did not fully fall asleep until after 2:00 in the morning. I simply rolled over a couple of times and fell back to sleep almost immediately.

It was past 8:00 when I decided to start my day and had barely started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me. There were no Plans made so all we had was my want to accomplish today.

Even though today is officially our Canadian Thanksgiving we had celebrated with our daughter Karen’s family yesterday. So for our big meal today we had Philly Style Sliced Beef from Lou’s Kitchen on Hamburger Buns for our lunch. (We were also out of Bread.) We hadn’t had this one in a while and we realized that it is really Salty. It tasted good but too Salty for our liking. We much prefer their Pulled Pork that is perfectly seasoned. Kathy also put together a dessert plate with a couple of Cookies and a Yogurt Cup.

As soon as we finished eating we headed out the door and were arriving at the Trailer at Guardian Storage before 1:00. I gathered my supplies and headed up to the roof while Kathy drove over to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit looking for Cleaning Supplies.

On all our previous Trailers Rubber Roof Liners were stretched over the sides and held in place by the Gutter Rails. On this Trailer they installed a Brown Aluminium Roof Edge Cover that adds protection from Branches or other kinds of hazards that could tear the Liner. The problem was the Sealer the factory used on the joints is starting to fray.

When I returned the tube of White Sealer yesterday it was recommended I use a Spray Sealer. That came in Black, White and one with a Clear Cap. I figured that the product would also be Clear. After spending a Half Hour cleaning the One Joint I used a Cardboard to block any Breeze and Over-Spray. Imaging my horror when the Spray left a very noticeable Grey Coating. Nowhere on the can did it say Clear or Grey. Just then the Wind decided to pick up so it was getting a little dicey up there.

Kathy had worn herself out cleaning the Windows on the Truck. While I was on the roof I thought that she was working inside the Trailer.

Digging through the screws in One of my Toolboxes I could only find Two Screws to remount the Towel Bar that the Factory Repair Center removed. It didn’t matter what I tried to do today it was “One Step Forward and Two Steps Backwards”.

Flowers blooming by a factory.

It was nearly 4:30 when we left the Storage Yard. With another engagement later we needed to eat so we went to Wendy’s Drive-Thru where we had our usual Chicken Wraps, Small Chocolate Frosties and Seniors Soft Drinks. We sat in the Truck having our meal while people watching. Since this is an Official Holiday there are lots of places that were closed including the Tecumseh Mall. We had a clear view of one of the entrances and counted Ten People tugging away on the locked doors.

At the Apartment we needed to get cleaned up and as well as changing our clothes. We were soon heading back out the door. Since the Truck had started to Regen on the way home we decided it needed a good run so we again took it.

That's only 15 Candles.
Hate to think what our's would look like.

Our destination was our daughter-in-law Jen’s home in Essex. We weren’t going for Thanksgiving instead we were going for something even better. We were there to help celebrate Connor’s 15th Birthday with Cake and Ice Cream. We enjoyed the rest of the time getting caught up on what is happening with School for the boys along with any future plans. After more Hugs we were headed back home by 8:00.

Connor with his Coronavirus Doo.

We were barely inside our Apartment when the forecasted Thunderstorms started. We had brought our Raincoats with us just in case and driving in Rain at Night is nobody’s idea of a good time.

Kathy and I hope that all our Canadian readers were able to enjoy their Thanksgiving though with these Coronavirus Restrictions this has not been a traditional year.

The Rain didn’t last too long and I’ve got an appointment in the morning. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

Last night my sister and I watched three movies back-to-back.

Luckily I was the one facing the TV.

  1. My roof also needs to be waxed. I'm hoping the weather holds off here until November. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  2. At least you can make the RV roof repairs yourself. Even though the sealer came out gray it will hard for others to notice it so I would not worry about it.

    Happy Belated Birthday to Connor!
