Beyond Scorcher and Two Celebrations On Our Special Day.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

If you thought that I was going to write about all the sleep I got last night, you would be wrong, because I may have gotten Fifteen Minutes total. Yes, I spent plenty of time connected to the CPAP Machines, by my Recliner and Bed, but it was not until I started my E-Reading after 6:00 this morning, that a few Minutes here and there, that my eyes closed for the right reason. Though, Kathy and I held hands at different times through the night, she came out to join me at 7:45.

After our normal nit picking type breakfast and getting cleaned up, we soon headed for the door. Kathy does not do well with extreme Heat and the Humidex at 11:00 was already 100 F (38 C). She actually waited by the rear entrance while I brought the Car around.

I mentioned yesterday that this is our Special Day. Actually that happened on a day just as Hot as this one, Twenty-Five Years ago. Today, was our Silver Wedding Anniversary and though Kathy had already received her Card at home, I was Planning on taking her to a nice Restaurant. Kathy’s answer to that was Wendy’s. Paula could not believe that we were there to celebrate on our Anniversary.

We watched others come and go, as we took our time eating our meal. It was while we were eating our Frosties that we noticed we were sweating. In case they did not know, I spoke to the Shift Manager to give them a heads up. They knew and the Repair Crew was already on the Roof trying to fix the problem.

Wanting to spend a little more time away from home, we parked near the rear of the Tecumseh Mall, before going in to Mall Walk. This is not even a tenth the size of the Devonshire Mall but it was enough to get us moving. As we were finishing our walk, we stopped in at the Dollarama, to get Bread and Pudding Cups. In the long line at the Cashiers I remembered not bringing in a Reusable Bag, so I used my Cane to get an Insulated Bag from behind the Check-Outs. Suddenly, I had four guys behind us saying they needed to get one of those.

Our Air Conditioner had kept the Apartment just right for our return. The Weather Network showed the outside temperature to be 100 F (38 C) but our Humidex was 113 F (45 C). I could feel my skin cooking under the Sun.

Just before the “6 o’clock Local News” was about to start, we sat down to enjoy, Sauteed Salmon Fillets, Asparagus Spears and Potato Slices, to celebrate our Special Day for the second time.

We later watched a “Murder Mystery”.

Though it will be just as hot tomorrow, we have something to keep us busy.

Going to sleep early.

Possible Side Effects and Kathy’s Good.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I was back and forth again last night, but I think I know why. Sunday was the first night taking the Stronger Medication, but even that could be partly my fault. Going from a low dosage Medication to a high enough dosage that I could become a Space-Monkey. I chose to take a lower dosage on my own. Not being the type of person that needs a pill for every bump I get, made me rethink this. Originally, I was taking Three 100mg Capsules that were not helping. After switching me to Two 50mg Capsules did even less for me, the Doctor seemed lost. He then prescribed me taking Three 75mg Capsules per night. If he changes it again, I can simply add these to Kathy’s supply, that she is prescribed by another Doctor. I my change my own dosages, but never Kathy’s, it’s just these are identical to her’s.

Kathy was up only Twenty Minutes after me this morning. Our Coffees were served before our breakfast snack. While checking things on the Computers, I did not feel well and kept dozing while looking at the screen. I’ll watch for other symptoms that these Medications can produce.

Lunch was Toasted Tomato and Cheese Sandwiches.

If I sat down this afternoon, I continued to doze. I finally went around double checking things we may have to purchase later this week. Checking The Weather Network, they showed today’s Humidex for our area at 108 F (42 C) but we can expect a cool down for the weekend.

If you recall, I mentioned Kathy getting sick Twice in Two Days shortly after eating, with the only common thread was I had used Frozen Vegetables in the dish. Today, after making certain that they were thawed and warming up, I added the other fresh vegetables that were not in the mix before. I also tried using Chicken, rather than Bacon. We both enjoyed our Chicken/Veggie Wraps with only a slight taste difference.

We later watched a few WWII episodes on the History Network.

We have Plans for tomorrow and will be getting out there one way or another.

PS: Kathy has not gotten sick since supper, but I will not buy Frozen Vegetables again.

Really Hot and Armageddon.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After spending only Sixteen Minutes trying to sleep in my Recliner last night, I would spend the next Nine Hours sleeping in Bed. According to the Pharmacist, the Nighttime Medications that I am now taking will have that kind of effect, but I still remember holding hands with Kathy a few times through the night.

I barely opened the Balcony Blinds, when Kathy came out to join me. We settled for another snack breakfast with Tea Biscuits and a Yogurt Parfait covered with the remaining Strawberries we had leftover in the Fridge.

With our Coffees at our Computers, we made mental notes of supplies that we needed to restock on today. Needing a bit more personal energy before going out, we settled for Hotdogs on a slice of Bread, since there were no Wraps or Buns. It did the trick and our daughter Karen called just as we were on our way out the door.

As usual the Northeast Wind Gusts that greeted us on the way out the rear entrance, definitely sent a Chill up our spines, even though the Humidex was already showing 97 F (36 C). Opening the Car doors was like facing the heat of a Blast Furnace. With all the Windows down and the Air Conditioner doing its best, we stopped sweating by the time we got to the street.

Since it was so Hot, the first place we went was the nearby Dollarama. Strangely, they had everything we had on that List. Now we were hoping to be as lucky at the Grocery Store. Before that could happen, we made a quick stop at Bulk Barn to pick some Healthy Snacks. We were then able to walk next door to Zehr’s so we could finish our shopping.

I think we could hear our Two-Wheeled Folding Shopping-Cart groaning after loading it full of our purchases. We were so happy the Air Conditioning had been left on to keep the Apartment comfortable, but we were still sweating while putting things away.

It was past 6:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Vegetarian Pizza for supper.

We had planned to watch the movie “Armageddon” with Bruce Willis, but it was delayed due to a Golf Tournament that was delayed due to a Severe Thunderstorm. The Greens had to be Squeegeed in order for the golfers to finish their game. The movie was great but thankfully, I had started writing this Blog immediately after supper.

We’ll be busy for the next few days.

Getting It Right and Getting Hotter.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Kathy had barely gone to Bed last night, when I was publishing our Blog. With a few more distractions I was tipped back in my Recliner. Though it was only an Hour before I was comfortable enough to head to Bed, it only felt like minutes. Kathy was quite relaxed taking up part of my side of the Bed along with her’s, but that worked out for the best, as we held hands for nearly Thirty Minutes. A little later, Kathy was restless, standing by her side of the Bed. Even with my coaching, she refused to put her CPAP Mask back on, but chose to hold my hand for another Thirty Minutes. I didn’t mind at all.

It was just past 8:00 when I started my day. Once the Blinds were open, the Computers turned on, it was time to get our breakfast snack ready because Kathy was already up and making the Bed.

Looking outside, it appeared Overcast, with a Puddle on our Truck’s Tonneau Cover. The forecast last night, showed clear skies overnight, but it was only a deception for what was to come.

Yesterday, I mentioned getting a Password Reset at the Bank but no matter what I did this morning, it would not connect. Those temporary Passwords are only good for Twenty-Four Hours, and I still had time to burn, but it was not to be. Another trip to the Bank in the near future.

It was only 10:30 when I started resetting the table as a work bench and getting our Traveling Medication Bag out to use. Then time was used, pairing the Vials/Bottles of identical Medications and Vitamins, in the order they would be used to fill Six Weeks worth of Doucettes. It was nice to see that a few of the Medications that I have had to struggle with their heavy Blister Packaging, were now coming loose in Vials.

Before getting started with that, I had already started cooking a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza, that we shared for lunch.

It took nearly Four Hours to complete the Doucette task for both our needs, but it would take another Hour to log the change of inventory, before packing everything away. It’s good being organized.

It is always unbelievable how mentally draining that chore can be.

The Clouds had disappeared and the only thing we could see was beautiful clear Blue Skies with Sunshine. After staying inside the entire day we needed an escape, even for just a short while.

We headed off to Wendy’s for supper. Using a Coupon, I slowly described our order to a new employee with less than Two Days experience and she got it perfectly. Wish some of the other employees, I need to repeat it multiple times. After eating and talking for nearly an Hour and a Half later we were heading home with plans for shopping tomorrow.

The Weather Network showed that we reached 79 F (26 C) that felt like 88 F (31 C) when in the direct Sunlight. They also showed our temperature reaching or getting close to the Century Mark next week.

We later watched a movie before calling it a night.
