After bit more back and forth between the Recliner and Bed, I woke feeling refreshed. It was a good thing, because I would need all that, to help me make it through the day.
We had an alternate Plan for today, but when I saw the change in tomorrow’s forecast, things change for us as well. We even had Hotdog Wraps as an early lunch in order to prolong our stamina.
We arrived at Guardian Storage and our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to start thinning out more of what we no longer need to hang on to. A quick look was all I needed to know others around us can put certain things better use than we can. Bit by bit they made their way into the Truck but the Heat was again wearing us down. After a few rest periods, we were ready to call a stop for the time being. We are starting to see some space that can actually be walked it.
Leaving for another day, we both needed some comfort and refreshment, so we headed up the road to McDonald’s. While cooling down inside with a Blueberry/Pomegranate Smoothie, we noticed the time and realized we were also getting hungry. Back to the counter and a few more Dollars, I came back with a couple of Filet-o-Fish for nourishment. Kathy actually enjoyed it, which I was happy to hear.
Heading back towards Amherstburg, just as I was slowing down at a Traffic Light, the driver of a Corvette Stingray thought it was wise to veer into our lane. Lucky for him, I was able to lock up the brakes. Well, it seemed that Karma was watching out for him, because Two Miles up the road, the Red and Blue Flashing Lights had him stopped at the side of the road.
When we arrived at our son Kevin’s in Amherstburg, his face broke into a smile as I showed him things that made our RVing lives easier. I heard the Truck breathe a sigh of relief when it was unloaded, but the 84 F (29 C) was again wearing us down. We visited a short while in the cool of the Garage, where so many Family Celebrations have been held. Once we had caught our breathes, we said our Good-Byes and left.
Fortunately, we didn’t go too far. We stopped at the Local Walmart, for multiple reasons. The Heat had gotten to Kathy, so she needed more relief. I needed to add to my clothing accessories that have already disappeared from the shelves in Windsor. I was surprised at the higher price, until I went around the counter to find the same product of Five for the same price as Four.
We took our time through the Construction in LaSalle but felt relieved when the Truck was again parked in its assigned spot. After it sitting for so long, I’m certain the other tenants are surprised to see it on the move again.
Though we had left the Fans circulating the air all day in the Apartment, the first thing we did was to turn on the Air Conditioner. We both felt like we could have taken a nap but knew it would take away from our nightly sleep. Around 5:30, I served the last of the chopped-up Hotdogs with Baked Beans on Toast for supper, along with a glass of Iced Tea.
The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” reminded us of the higher Temperature and Humidity to come tomorrow. Glad that we changed our Plans for today.
Around 8:00, we watched a Special with Tom Hanks narrating about the North American Continent. It showed things that we thought we knew, but not to what extent, along with so many that we never dreamed of. There were Two Episodes tonight and there will be Six More covering I believe different parts of the world, along with what happened to the Dinosaurs. This is definitely something for the curious to learn from, even if you are not into Science. We were amazed.
Tomorrow we’ll do what we did not do today and be happy about it.
