Questionable Changes and Official Heat Wave.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Surprisingly, even though it was a back and forth night, I woke up feeling refreshed. Since I was not in Bed the entire night, Kathy woke up tired and dragging. A quick check of The Weather Network, showed the already forecasted Rain not starting until after noon. With little time to dawdle this morning, we used our Morning Juice to wash down our morning Medications and Vitamins, before heading out the door.

The entire sky was Cloud covered, but the slight breeze that early in the morning helped the 99 F (37 C) Humidex feel almost comfortable. It used to be our normal way of travel, using the Truck, so it was automatic for Kathy to be headed there this morning, rather than the Car. For Doctors Appointments and shopping, the Car has better maneuverability because of its size and is better on Gas.

Not knowing how long my appointment would last, we stopped at Wendy’s where we both enjoyed a Bacon/Egg Wrap along with our Free Seniors Coffees. That was by far quicker and easier than trying to put that together at home.

We arrived at the Windsor Pain Care Clinic with minutes to spare. Even with the heat starting to build, Kathy insisted she would read her book in the Car, until it got too Hot. I did not expect to have to do a Questionnaire this morning, so I did not bring my reading glasses. When told of the problem, the Receptionist, used a Magnifying Glass to read them so loud, all the other patients in the Waiting Room could hear. My glasses would not have helped, and where was the privacy there?

Kathy came in Twenty Minutes later, saying it was getting too Hot. We were talking with other Patients about the long delays from our appointed times. Lillian brings her friend Florence twice a month and has never seen them on time. Rose was very vocal about the delays and because of them needed to use the washroom. She told the Receptionist she would be right back but barely left the room when they called her name. Instead of waiting for her to return, the took the next patient in her place. When she was told about being bypassed, she got even more vocal. (I did not blame her for how she felt.) She was taken in within Five Minutes. (Squeaky Wheel!)

My appointment led to changes in my Medication due to my increased evening Pain Levels. Something does not sound right to me. How will Two 50 mg Capsules, will take the place of Four 100 mg Capsules?

When I saw Kathy again, she said that she could not read anymore, because her eyes would not focus on the pages. When I asked where her Reading Glasses were, she said she didn’t need any. It took a while to convince her that, if you needed them before, you still need them now.

It was nearly 1:00 so we stopped at Taco Bell for a couple of Chicken Quesadillas and Fountain Drinks. Kathy barely finished half of her’s, before passing the rest to me to eat. Now I understand why I’m not losing weight. I already told her, next time we are sharing One.

Stopping at Health First Pharmacy, they claimed to have just received the Prescription, that I was certain had been made over an Hour before. Another surprise, I have to discontinue taking the former Nighttime Medications. We’ll see how that works out.

As we parked the Car in its designated spot, the approaching Rain started to leave its mark. Another surprise, was the Fans alone had kept the Apartment comfortable even without the Air Conditioner going. The Rain picked up its pace and was soon cleaning the vehicles and pavement as well as watering all the greenery.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” showed a statement from Environment Canada, that the Windsor area is Officially in the middle of a Heat Wave. It is strange how we always have high Humidex and Rain at times like that.

We later watched another “Murder Mystery” for entertainment. Our AC works so well that we start to Freeze in our Recliners, so just before the movie started we shut it off.

As I was shutting The Weather Network for the night, the Humidex showed 99 F (37 C). That was when I realized that my T-Shirt was soaking wet, Time to turn the AC back on, until I start feeling cold in the middle of the night.

We’ll have to keep an eye on the stormy weather heading our way.
