What Rain?

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After spending what I thought to be a busy day, working at the Trailer yesterday, I was certain that I would be sleeping like a rock. It turned out that I was more like a Rolling Stone. It was another back and forth night that left me hoping between my Recliner and Bed. It also left me feeling more tired than when I first tried sleeping.

There was another problem with a night like that, it made me sleep later than I wanted to, because there were Severe Thunderstorms forecasted later this afternoon, I wanted to work on the Trailer again.

Not knowing what time we would be having lunch, I made a Veggie Omelet Brunch for us to share. It was served by the time Kathy was dressed. Again, I have learned to make them more age appropriate. Our Coffees were just right to gulp back before heading out the door.

I mentioned last night, not being terribly impressed with the choice of Woodscrews from The Home Depot, so I expanded my search this morning. The first place was Home Hardware and finally Rona. They are both Canadian Brands, but it took the larger of the two to come closer. I honestly believe the only place I could have gotten an exact match to what I needed, would have been at an RV Dealership/Repair Center.

Back at the Trailer, we were just about to start, when Kathy started getting sick. Lucky for us, we always have a Plastic Pail in the Trailer, and it was right there to use. The only thing left to do was to head for home. We thought that it might have been something she ate, but we eat the same thing except for quantity. With the Storm forecasted to start shortly after noon, there would be no going back.

Looking down at the Tonneau Cover from our Apartment, I noticed one of the Ribs had moved, so while Kathy rested, I went down to reset it. Otherwise, the Rain would have caused it to buckle. It was starting to sprinkle by the time I headed back inside and that was the only Rain we saw.

We busied ourselves on the Computers, reading everything we missed this morning. Looking at the Radar, it appeared that we would take a direct hit, until I zoomed in. That was when you could see the Storm splitting, missing us and the Trailer completely. The Wind was a different story, gusting to nearly Fifty KLH (30 MPH). When I started hearing the Wind, I looked down to see the Tonneau Cover billowing, before the latch finally let go and sent the cover towards the cab of the Truck. I spent a bit more time fastening it down again.

An Apple was our treat for the afternoon which held us over until we sat down to have Sauteed Asparagus Spears, Potato Slices and Grilled Chicken Breasts for supper. We were stuffed.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” showed Rain and Storms for Six of the next Seven Days. I’ll be double checking more closely. Also nice to see the cost of Oil dropping again.

We later watched the Romantic Comedy, “Definitely, Maybe”.

With other things to take care of tomorrow, we’ll let you know what happens.
