Having
seen the weather forecast before going to bed last night and since we
were in no hurry to go anywhere early the moment our heads hit the
pillows we were asleep. When I woke it looked like it was the middle
of the night but the Clock showed otherwise.
By
the time I opened the Balcony Blinds Kathy was already getting
out of bed but it was still dim enough I had to turn the lights on to
make breakfast. Looking out it was a wall of Rain blocking the
sunlight. We managed to get our morning chores done early but ended
up spending most of the day at the Computers.
One
of the reports from the Federal Canadian Government that Kathy
was reading indicated that the International
Border between Canada
and the United States could
remain closed to all Nonessential Travel to as late as 2023.
The reason they claim is due to the handling of the Coronavirus
and its rising Cases because many
are not taking this seriously. By having people Stay at Home
the numbers started to drop but as soon as businesses opened like
nothing happened the Cases
spiked. By wearing Masks and Social Distancing the
numbers again started to drop but people claim its against their
constitutional rights and refused to wear them. This Virus
holds no political affiliation and discriminates against no one. We
wear Masks not only to protect ourselves but others around us.
If they are not wearing Masks it shows they are only thinking
about themselves.
For
lunch Kathy made Baked Beans on Toast with Lemon
Squares for dessert.
This
afternoon the Rain would stop for a few minutes before
starting again then repeating the cycle.
We
were in the process of getting things ready for supper at 6:00 when
our daughter Karen called to invite us over for a visit around 7:00
so we said we’d see her then. We ended up eating our Spare Ribs
before the Acorn Squash was finished cooking. Let’s just
say they were both served hot.
The
Rain had finally stopped when we left the building and the
temperature had also dropped but looking all around us we wondered
what was about to happen next. The Clouds that were
approaching were more threatening then they had been all day but we
managed to make it to Karen’s house in Tecumseh
without getting wet.
Karen
and Kylla were busy cleaning up the kitchen from their supper and
Greg was on his way to help a friend work on his lawnmower. For the
first few minutes we visited mainly with Sanford who was showing us
his newest Toy. We stayed inside but still managed to Social
Distance sitting at opposite ends of the dining table. It was
nearly 9:00 when we were getting ready to leave but Karen didn’t
let us walk away empty handed. She sent us off with fresh from her
garden Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peppers, Rhubarb
and freshly baked loaf of Strawberry/Rhubarb/Walnut Bread.
Thanks Karen!
Once
we were back in the Apartment we
opened the Balcony Door and Bedroom Window not just to
freshen the air but to cool it down. With a low of 59 F (15
C) tonight we are looking forward to sleeping like this.
The
forecast for our area is for more Rain
for the next Two
Days.
Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Well ... I guess you'll be staying in your apartment for awhile! Sadly, the people not taking it seriously are the BLM and Atifa groups that continue to have protests everywhere with huge crowds and no masks. 14 days later, there's another big outbreak. I expect this to continue for awhile until they all get sick, then maybe it will slow down. Who knows.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Nancy and you can't believe everything you hear from media or even your government! Sanford is just too adorable. Certainly would make me smile to visit with Sanford!
ReplyDeleteNice that you got some fresh produce to take home. Any chance of Kathy finding that article regarding the border potential being closed to 2023. I would love to read that article. It would help put a few things into perspective.
