It
felt wonderful having the Balcony Door and Bedroom Window
open most of the time yesterday but it didn’t last. Kathy had only
gone to bed minutes before I looked at the Radar Screen
showing a huge Storm Cell heading
our way through the middle of the night. To play it safe the Balcony
Doors were closed tight and the Bedroom Window left open
less then an Inch to leave a slight breeze in.
Our morning view. |
I
was up shortly after 8:00 this morning and Kathy followed minutes
later when she heard the Balcony Door being once again being
opened. It looked like it would be a perfect day. We reviewed what
needed to be done as we had our breakfast Muffins. The next
step was to head to the Computers. There was plenty to get
caught up on but I had to do an On-Line Questionnaire then the
Q-Pass needed to be printed. As per usual I had to fight with
my Computer to make it work because of Microsoft Updates
that always cause us grief. After the morning chores I hadn’t
finished reading all the Blogs on our Sidebar.
We
both wanted soup but Kathy wanted to try something different so we
tried a Buttered Chicken and Rice Soup along with the last
Lemon Squares for dessert. We’ll be having the Squares again in
the future.
We
cleaned up the Dishes before Kathy returned to her
Computer. It’s been a few days since I last exercised so I got
right into it and even managed to do my entire routine before heading
for the Shower.
Once
I was all cleaned and dressed I noticed the sky had darkened so I
checked The Weather Network and
the Radar for our area. The forecast had changed since this
morning and Windsor was about to get hit by a number of
smaller cells crossing the border from Detroit.
I also noted that Bayfield and
Durham would be taking a much
harder hit then we were. The reason those areas are important is
because our friends Al and Kelly from the Bayfield
Bunch along with Bill and Patsy from On
Our Way and Chilin
With Patsy live in those areas when they are here in Ontario.
When it starts to Rain it all looks the same.. |
The
Rain was still coming down while I was in the Apartment
so Kathy decided to stay home. By the time I got outside at 3:00 less
then a dozen drops hit me. The parking lot was a bunch of miniature
lakes.
My
destination was the Canadian Blood Services
building on Grand Marais.
I barely parked the Car when the Rain started coming
down like a power washer. It lasted less then Five Minutes.
Entering the building everyone is required have an Appointment
and to wear a Mask. Inside the lobby after disinfecting your
hands you are asked a series of Coronavirus
Questions and have your Temperature taken before
you proceed to the Blood Screening stage. The place was full
with all the Donation Chairs spaced well apart. After making
my 124th Donation I took my Snack and Juice to enjoy in
the Car. The entire process was less then Thirty Minutes.
Kathy
thought I was pulling a prank on her when I called to say I was
finished. I suggested picking supper up on the way home to which she
agreed. I stopped at Arby’s
where they had changed their special so we got Two Grilled Chicken
Sandwiches for supper. We were eating in the Apartment
by 4:30.
After
supper I started getting caught up on the Blogs that had
posted this morning until we checked out what was on Television.
After watching lots of Hallmark Moves and Crime Shows
we both wanted to see something different. We watched “Pitch
Perfect” and “Pitch Perfect 2” which involves lots
of singing with no music. It was a nice distraction to everything
that’s on the tube these days.
With
lots of Lightning
during the movies so we had to close the Window
and Door
to only slight openings. With
the heat expected to return by the weekend we’ll
see what happens tomorrow. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s

Rain rain .... oh for some beautiful rain!! We keep hoping!!
ReplyDeleteSoCal can use all the rain you can spare :))
ReplyDeleteThank you for being a blood donor - 124 times!
124 - that is impressive. I think Arby's has the best chicken sandwiches of all the fast food joints.
