Winter Weather, Acquittal and Hallmark Movies.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even though things brightened up quite a bit when I opened the Balcony Blinds this morning it was not because of the intense Sunlight. Looking out it appeared to be foggy but it was actually fine Flurries that were slowly covering the landscape.

Once things were ready for breakfast the next thing for me to do was to turn on our Computers. Since our temperature barely moved for nearly Forty-Eight Hours it was no surprise when I looked at The Weather Network to the temp holding steady. I’ve noticed that lately the warmer our temps seem to be is when we have the Flurries and the closer to the Freezing Mark the more intense they become. We never saw the Sun today but our temperature reached 23 F (-5 C) this afternoon bring more Flurries.

We turned on the Impeachment Hearing before it started at 10:00 this morning and were surprised that there was going to be a call for Witnesses. With some discussion they took a Recess just before noon so it gave us a chance to have lunch.

We shared an Omelette I made with finely chopped Celery, Onions and Cheese. Kathy topped it off with Cookies and an Apple Sauce Cup for dessert.

When the Impeachment Hearing restarted an hour later a resolve had been made that was acceptable to both sides thus avoiding the need to call any Witnesses. Between the Impeachment Managers and the Defence Lawyers they used less then Two Hours combined of the Four Hours allotted for closing statements. When the Vote was tabulated it was 43 No and 57 Yes for impeachment. They needed a Two Thirds vote or 67 for impeachment.

Many of the Republican Senators believed that what the former president did was Impeachable but would not vote to convict because of Constitutional Beliefs even though it was all clarified before the trial even started.

Minority Leader Mitch McConnall who voted not to impeach said that the former president would still be liable for other Civil and Criminal Charges that he could be facing on a number of things now that he is no longer a sitting president.

Our 6o’clock Local News was supposed to be broadcast from London this evening but it was Pre-Empted by a Golf Tournament.

Kathy made Herbed Garlic Egg Noodles for supper with Mandarin Orange Slices for dessert.

After cleaning up the Dishes we watched a couple of Hallmark Valentine’s Day Movies. A big change over the last few days.
