Cold Sunshine, Dealing With A Problem and Flurries Rescheduled.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even with a little tossing through the night I was rested enough to be up by 8:00 this morning. When I opened the Balcony Blinds it looked like there was a chance we might see the Sun today. I had barely gotten things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me. She had a similar type of night.

We were just heading to the Computers when the Sun did make its first appearance in days climbing above the Clouds. Checking The Weather Network we found we could enjoy the light but with the cold Northeast Wind gusting to Twenty-Five MPH there was no chance any of the accumulation would melt away. On the positive side we have now gained an Hour (60 Minutes) between Sunrise and Sunset since December 21, 2020.

Even though I thought we’d be going for groceries today we didn’t. Instead we double checked what we had in stock as a way of bring down our stock pile.

While doing that we found we still have a problem. Actually it’s not our problem but a problem that many apartment buildings have at this time of year Sugar Ants. Lucky for us we keep all our Dry Foods in Rubbermaid Sealed Containers but lots of people don’t. The fact that we don’t leave dirty Dishes or Counters makes it frustrating. Eventually we used Raid to fix the problem.

We had Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch along with a Shared Apple and Chocolate Covered Wafer for dessert.

We spent time researching On-Line. I tried applying for a couple of jobs today but found out that I had just applied for them last week.

Supper was Baked Beans on Toast along with Bacon for a side as well as a couple of Cookies and Apple Sauce Cups for dessert.

On the 6 o’clock Local News there were 6 Deaths and 30 New Coronavirus Cases in our area. Our Canadian Federal Government has labelled the Proud Boys as a Terrorist Group. The US Government has only put them on the Terror Watch List. The Flurries we were supposed to get today might arrive on Thursday evening. The Weather Guessers are still practicing.

In response to a Comment on our Blog about my waking Kathy when she sleeps late. Kathy doesn’t like to sleep that late either. We would rather rather enjoy the daytime even on a Cloudy day then sleep through it. That forces our bodies to sleep at night.

We later watched “Nancy Drew”. This isn’t the one we grew up watching.

Krackers

Freedom is not free. A free society has no choice but to put up with a great deal of bad behaviour.

  2. I'm like Kathy. Even though I'm retired my favorite get up time is 6:30am. The other morning we both slept until 8:45. What! I hope that doesn't happen often.

  3. I'm not a morning person and like getting up when the sun has warmed things up a little. Hope you're ready for the artic weather. Stay warm.

  4. I would not be happy find those little sugar ants anywhere. Tom sprayed around the foundation of our house a lot in the summer. It seems like once they invade they are hard to get rid of. Stay warm and safe.

  5. I like to get up just before the sun does. Looks like what you did today. The time on the clock does'nt much matter. I think your sunup is later than down here. Right? I know it gets dark earlier up there! Lived in NY once.
A followup on vaccine info since you asked:
I'm fine. Just a sore arm. Ditto for my old lady friends. On the other hand, my somewhat younger friend (71), who was a carpenter and worked physically hard all his life, with robust health, has, in addition to the sore arm, felt a bit puny, so that we have delayed our dinner get-together til tomorrow. My old nurse friend has speculated he has a more robust immune system, and may have less trouble with the second dose than the others of us who have gotten off scot-free with the first. My friend who had fever, etc from the second dose, is now feeling fine two days later. So. There are some anecdotes for you. And these were the Moderna vaccines.
