After waking several times throughout the night I didn’t wake up until 8:38 this morning. I had just started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy came out to join me. She apparently slept like a rock.
Luckily we were just sitting down at our Computers when the phone rang. It was our daughter-in-law Jen’s mom Sue calling to let us know that she and Jack would meet me downstairs in Five Minutes. To say that I was scrabbling to get changed would be an understatement.
Sue works as an Activity Coordinator in a local Retirement Home (This is not a Nursing Home.) When the Coronavirus outbreak arrived in Windsor most of the Staff didn’t have any Masks to wear as they were reserved for Front-Line Medical Personnel. When that happen Sue with Jack’s help started making them first for all the Staff then the residents of the Home. To date no one in that Home has become ill with the Virus. She then continued making them for anyone who might need one and when she asked Kathy if we could use any she said yes. What is unique about these Cloth Masks is there is a Pocket between the layers of material that allows you to insert a Coffee Filter or Paper Towel for additional Filtration.
When I went outside at 9:30 the temperature was 72 F (22 C) with a lite breeze from the South. Since they live just around the bend they had walked over. The closest we got was when Sue wearing her Mask handed me the Zip-Lock Bag containing the Masks. We talked for about Ten Minutes about all kinds of things including upcoming repairs to our Trailer and where we would be right now if we had gone South this winter along with the Storm that was forecasted to arrive around noon.
Back upstairs Kathy and I checked the Masks and decided we will be wearing our’s the next time we go to a store.
Lunch was Chicken Noodle Soup with an Orange, Maple Cookies and a Yogurt Cup for dessert.
We barely got up from eating when the skies opened up and within minutes the parking lots were miniature lakes so we headed back to the Computers. The Rain finally stopped around 2:30. A Half Hour after that the Sun was shining through the openings in the Clouds and drying things up. We opened the Balcony Door and sat with a comfortable breeze coming in.
We watched the 6 o’clock Local News before having Baked Beans on Toast for supper along with Oatmeal Cookies, a Yogurt Cup and an Apple for dessert.
We watched another Coronavirus Special before turning off the Television. With more Showers for tomorrow we’ll find something to do. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. Nice looking masks. We have two homemade ones made by someone here in the park for a donation to the food bank. Ours have a filter included.
