Sunny Spring Weather Arrives, Getting Information and Doing Some Shopping.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We were both up shortly after 8:30 this morning looking out the Balcony Door. The Sun was shining brightly accenting the many colours of the spring blooms. We knew it was going to be a beautiful day With the moderate 64 F (18 C) temperatures we knew that we wouldn’t be stuck inside all day.
Lunch today was the Pepper Steak we made the other day but rather then serving it on Rice today Kathy served it on a bed of Egg Noodles with Spaghetti Sauce and Parmesan Cheese. That changes the taste completely. Of course we added our dessert plate of Oatmeal Cookies, an Orange and a Mixed Berry topped Yogurt Cup we had energy to burn.
Even though I mentioned to Kathy yesterday we needed a few supplies that we use up weekly she thought we could do without them. That changed when she began planning a few more meals and noticed ingredients were missing. We spent a Half Hour together taking stock of what we have and making a Shopping List.
There were at least 50 People lined up outside the Liquor Store.
Everyone's got different priorities.
We finally got out the door around 1:30 but our first stop was right in the parking lot. In order to solve a problem I needed information on the door-jam of the Truck. The easiest way to do that was to take a picture to see it which is easier then standing on my head.
A WWII trainer used for training local Air Cadets.
Our next stop was Guardian Storage where I collected our Mail before we headed over to check out the Trailer. After checking to be certain everything was good I took a picture of the Specification Tag. Easier then writing everything down then loosing the paper.

Our first shopping stop was at Dollarama. Since there was already a line of people Social Distancing waiting to go in Kathy decided to stay in the Car. She planned ahead and brought a book to read. Wearing my Mask it took nearly Twenty Minutes before I got inside and about Ten Minutes to do our shopping. When you can buy a loaf of Fresh Bread that has Twenty Percent more slices for only $2.00 that works out to half the cost of the grocery store. The amount that was spent there was the amount we saved on our grocery bill.

When we arrived at Zehr’s grocery store Kathy again stayed in the Car while I went inside wearing my Mask. This was not Seniors Only Shopping. Most Seniors were wearing Masks but still Social Distancing. Because of the size of our Shopping List it was over a Half Hour before I finally got in line to check out. That’s when Kathy called me saying she forgot to add Salad to the List. It was another Ten Minutes before I got back in line. The Cashiers were all wearing Masks and Gloves today.

When Kathy saw me heading for the Car she got out to stretch and help me put things in our Insulated Shopping Bags. I pointed to her how ignorant people are when they remove their Masks and Gloves and simply throw them on the ground instead of the Trash Cans beside the Cart Corrals.

It was 5:00 by the time we got everything into the Apartment with another Twenty Minutes before we had everything put away.
We watched the 6 o’clock Local News before Kathy made Open Faced Pulled Pork Sandwiches for supper. We watched a couple of Hallmark Movies before settling in on the Computers. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. It looked like a beautiful day weather wise for you guys.

You are a good husband to go in and do the shopping while Kathy waits in the car.

In Canada do they sell beer in the grocery stores or only in Liquor Stores?

  3. How funny there's such a long line at the liquor store. I guess drinking helps pass the time while they are inside their homes. Same thing happens around here. I really should take a hint from Kathy and do some meal planning. Your meals always look so good.

  4. I like my wine, but not standing in line for it! Your days just fly don't they!

  5. I will never understand people throwing ANY trash on the ground. OR for that matter leaving trash in their yards as you will see when I do my next post in a few days.
