Even
though we went to bed within minutes of one another last night I
managed to be up long before Kathy this morning. I managed to have
most of my reading finished before going to give her a Kiss.
Within minutes she was joining me for breakfast.
Looking
outside even though it was still slightly cool the weather was
perfect. Blue Sky with only a slight breeze. We
finished our morning chores before getting ready for another
afternoon adventure.
Knowing
that we would be burning off lots of energy we had Macaroni and
Cheese for lunch before topping it off with Oranges,
Cookies and a Yogurt Cup for dessert.
That dog looked like a Bear. |
We
took the time to clean up the Dishes as a way of letting lunch
settle. By the time we gathered what we needed to bring with us and
brought our Tandem Bicycle in from the Balcony it was
just past 1:00.
We
had figured an easy way of getting the Freight Elevator. After
pushing the button one of the Personal Elevators showed up.
Kathy took it to the Main Floor where she could access the one
we needed. That should have taken at only Five Minutes but
after Twenty Minutes I was starting to worry if something had
happen to Kathy.
That’s when the Freight Elevator
Door started opening and there was Kathy along with Jennie. We
didn’t think that anyone would be moving in on a Sunday the Third
of the month. Kathy had told Jennie we only needed the Elevator
to bring our Bike down so Jennie accompanied her up because
she had the Key to the Elevator. We thanked her and her
friends and got out of their way as quickly as we could.
Today
instead of taking the Ganatchio Trail
to Tecumseh we wanted to see
where it headed in the other direction. Once we crossed Lauzon
Road where we turned around the last time we continued on.
We were surprised when the path brought us diagonally to Wyandotte
Avenue.
Windsor
has been adding a number of Bike Trails and Bike Lanes
over the last few years making it safer for Cyclist to ride
along with Motorized Vehicular Traffic but unfortunately this
part of Wyandotte does not have
Bicycle Lanes yet. Also in the last few years
the Province of Ontario
has made it Law that Motorized Vehicles must “Share
the Road” with Cyclists. Kathy was always been fearful
of riding with traffic next to her but now that it is Law that
we are given space and that I am in control of the Bike she is
a lot calmer.
A
few times Kathy asked “Where are we going”? All I answered
was “You’ll See”. When I turned on Pillette
Road heading towards the Detroit
River she just thought we were turning to head back. When
I crossed Riverside Drive and
followed the Bike Path through Reaume
Park she asked to take a break.
Vera lives in this building facing the River. |
I
finally stopped across the street from where our friend Vera lives.
We called her number but she wasn’t home. Kathy often tells her how
far we go but I’m not sure if she believes us. This way she could
have looked out her front window and waved to us.
This
part of Riverside Drive also
didn’t have any Bicycle Lanes and
there was a lot of traffic so we rode on the sidewalks until we
turned up Lauzon Road to head
back on the Ganatchio Trail. When
we saw the U-Haul was still being unloaded we kept going in
the direction we took the other day.
We
sat across from Sandpoint Beach
and had a short rest. We were now half way back to Tecumseh.
The temperature had reached 72 F (22 C) and by the
number of people out the Trail
was quite busy. It was nearly 5:00 by the time I had our Tandem
Bicycle covered and tied to the Balcony Railing.
For
supper Kathy asked me what I wanted and made me a Grilled Cheese
Sandwich. She had her Chocolate Chip Pancakes but had it
chopped up before I could get a picture.

After
watching the 6
o’clock Local News we
watched a Murder
Mystery,
Charmed
and Outlander.
I’m certain we’ll sleep tonight. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.
Krackers
A
little boy surprised his grandmother one morning by bringing her a
cup of coffee he made himself. He anxiously waited to see if she
liked the coffee, his grandma had never had such a bad coffee. As she
forced down the last sip she noticed three little green army men in
the bottom of the cup. "Honey why are there little green arm
guys in the bottom of my cup?"
The
grandson replied, "You know, Grandma, it's like on TV, the best
part of waking up is soldiers in your cup."
Sounds like you had a wonderful day and got a lot of exercise. Too bad Vera was not home to see you guys.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story in your Crackers segment :-)
Nice that you have bike paths to ride. Around here it's just too narrow roads with fast cars. Oh to have some mac n cheese!!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you two got out for some biking, it was a perfect day for it. We had a lot of wind but you must not have had that to deal with.
ReplyDeleteBike riding has always been a favorite type of exercise for me.
