Being able to sleep a Half Hour later this morning had advantages and disadvantages to it. The advantage was being more rested, but the disadvantage was my body was already used to waking before 5:00. That meant I could only lay there and relax a bit longer.
If
you recall in yesterday’s Blog, I mentioned going in an Hour later, but I only had an extra Half
Hour
in
bed.
The
other Half
Hour
was
used for cleaning the Sxxw
covered Ice
off the Truck
and additional drive time. The Plows
were out but none had their Blades
down. They were only running their Salters
to stop vehicles from sliding through the intersections.Temperature before I went to work.
Notice the Wind.
With the extra time I double checked the Weather Conditions before heading out. It was interesting to see the temperature was warmer when I left for work then when I returned.
After yesterday’s problems with the PTA, I spent part of the morning doing touch-ups on another Feedscrew with the TIG. It is amazing how such a Hard-Wearing Material can chip and crack so easily.
With that completed I started setting up the PTA with the next group of Feedscrews to be done in hopes that yesterday was just a fluke. I was in the process of adding the numbers for all Eight Zones when everyone was called over to the Crib.
Being this is a Family Business, Mile, his wife and daughter were all there with Coffee and Donuts along with Gifts for the employees as a way of showing their appreciation for our work. After wishing us all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year we were told to come back in January.
Since I had energized the PTA, I needed to shut it down. That was where I was discussing some of the ongoing problems I’ve been experiencing, with Mile the Owner and Vinnie the Engineer when we heard a sound. In every type of manufacturing there are sounds that occur when something goes wrong. We were all at the CNN Mill in seconds where Shoe had a problem. The sound even brought Mile’s wife and daughter out of the Office in case there were any injuries. The Feedscrew being unloaded from the Mill had shifted and as a team we were safely able to extract it without damage to the machine, part and no injuries were incurred.
It
was just after 11:00
when I called Kathy to say I’d be home soon. What I forgot to tell
her was I’d check for the mail and fuel up the Truck
before getting there. She was a nervous wreck by the time I walked in
the Apartment.
She had been watching The
Weather Network
on Television
and they were giving reports of severe accidents due to this Winter
Storm.Our temperature after lunch.
Notice the Windchill.
The
temperature continued to plunge as the Sxxw
was blowing in near White-Out
conditions. With this being an older building we have listened to the
near Fifty
MPH Wind Gusts
whistling through the cracks all day. According to the forecasts this
will continue through Sunday
Morning
then by the middle of next week we’ll see Rain
and mild temperatures again.Another Pizza for supper.
In case we post late tomorrow Kathy and I would like to wish all our readers and their families a Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas. Hopefully you are all Safe from this Winter Storm.

A Classics professor goes to a tailor to get his trousers mended.
The tailor asks.”Euripides?”
The professor replies. “Yes. Eumenides?”
