Overdue Visit, Legal Errand and Preparation For Electrical Work.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After getting to bed only slightly later then normal last night I still managed to be up Ten Minutes before the Alarm was supposed to wake me. I was at Planet Fitness and starting my Cardio Workout before 5:30. On the way in I saw Eugene a distant cousin that I never knew until a few months back. I have noticed a lot of younger people coming in to exercise. Planet Fitness like other fitness facilities in the area are offering Free Admission to Full Time Students. I managed to get my full workout in, showered and was on my way home shortly after 8:30.

Kathy was already dressed and completing her morning chores when I walked in the Apartment. We had time for a Juice and Pastry for our breakfast. She had a hard time falling to sleep last night.

By 9:30 we were on our way out the door. We had been notified that Contractors would need access to our place between 9:00 and 5:00 today to prepare things for an Electrical Upgrade. We left a Stick Note on the door saying we’d be back by 3:30. As we waited for the Elevator they were just starting our floor.

Our destination was the Nursing Home where my Aunt Anna now resides. When we finally got there Kathy stood under the Canopy out of the Sun while I went to take a peak in her Window. At the beginning of the Coronavirus Outbreak the only way we could visit was with her inside her room and us standing in the Flowerbed.

Not seeing her in her room I headed back and we walked in the entrance. There was my Aunt sitting in a Wheelchair waiting for us. We had to be let in by an Attendant. We then had to wash our hands with Disinfectant, put on a Fresh Mask, then submit ourselves to a Covid Rapid Test. (We both proved Negative.)

We had plenty to talk about. Even though she is presently in a Wheelchair and her Leg has not fully healed she has every intention of being fully mobile again soon. We visited for nearly Two Hours before we took a brief tour down to her room then to the Dining Hall where we were introduced to other residents of of the Home.

We said our good-byes with the promise of seeing her soon. The Coronavirus Lock-Downs really messed things up for visiting with loved ones. We left her in the Dining Hall and had to wait for the Attendant to unlock the door for us to leave.

We stopped at Burger King where we used a Coupon to buy lunch. We took our time and started catching up on an old hobby People Watching.

We finally headed for the Expressway so we could head to our next destination in LaSalle. We stopped at our Lawyer’s Office as we are having changes made to our Wills. I mentioned how we had sat and explained our wishes with our son and daughter who will be in charge of closing our estates if things take a sudden turn for the worse. Since we had used Sticky Notes on our Copies the changes will be easy to do.

Heading back to Windsor we made a quick stop at Guardian Storage to get our Mail. Since there was none we were on our way faster.

We went straight to the Zehr’s grocery store where we picked up a few items that we used up this past weekend.

The Weather Network showed our temperature outside felt like 82 F (28 C) but with the Northwest Breeze it felt comfortable.

The Contractor came around 4:30 and only spent about Ten Minutes. They had to cut a hole in the wall below our Electric Panel. Under the New Building Management they will want everyone to pay for their own Electricity but because that was part of the Rent when we moved in we are Grandfathered in. In other words they cannot charge us for the Electricity but if we move then the next tenant will have to do so.

The 6 o’clock Local News was talking about the Pope being in Canada, studies about Long Haul Covid and the Wildfires in North America.

For supper we each had a smaller sized Veggie Wrap using the Stir-Fry for filling. With a little Shredded Cheddar Cheese on it we were both stuffed.

Tomorrow we’ve got things to get done so Kathy just went to bed after having a Sleepy-Time Tea to help her sleep.
