Changing Weather and Naloxone.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Like many recent night’s there was more Pain then sleep. The big problem is that it disturbs Kathy’s sleep as well, so in the end we both drag ourselves through our day.

Even before the shift started, I reminded Mile that I had a Doctor’s Appointment and would be leaving early. I also double checked the material he wanted me to use as a base for repairing a Feedscrew.

Moments after the buzzer went off, I loaded the Twenty-Three Foot, Six Inch Diameter Screw into the Plasma Transfer Arc. It only took minutes to get the few measurements I needed before turning on the Burner. Since most of the excess material had already been removed it would take very little heat to get where it could be welded.

When the “Begin to Weld” button was pushed everything went according to the measurements. Total Weld Time for that job was just Forty-Seven Minutes. While it was being post heated, I removed the Unit done on Monday from the Sandbox, before replacing it with today’s Screw.

I had Planned on leaving at 12:00 noon but after completing additional maintenance work on the PTA, and the Plant was starting to warm up, I punched out at 11:30.

I stopped at Pioneer gas station to fuel the Truck, before heading for home. After parking, I phone Kathy that I would pick her up at the rear door with the Car.

It was already Hot by noon, so we used the AC as we were on our way to the west end of the city.

Our first stop was Burger King for a quick lunch. It felt good sitting inside where it was much cooler and just talking.

We arrived at our Family Doctor’s Office with time to spare. We barely sat down when we were brought to the Examination Room. Unfortunately, for Two tired people, our doctor is very thorough and does not rush his patients, so we were nearly falling asleep waiting for him. When he did arrive he was happy with the way Kathy’s Ablation was working for her. Then he addressed the issue of her Recurring Rheumatoid Arthritis, ordering more tests and medication along with a referral to the local Arthritis Specialist. For me he is putting a rapid push for a Surgical Consultation for my Hip/Leg. He also prescribed a low dose Pain Medication that should help me sleep.

Our next stop was Clear Imaging. Even though Kathy told me to wait inside I sat outside in the Car for over an Hour. The Humidex at the time was 102 F (39 C). I finally went in to see what the delay was. They were having trouble with their power fluctuating. Just then the lights flickered, Lightning lit the room and the Rain was travelling West to East in a horizontal line. Minutes later Kathy appeared but we had to wait for the Rain to slow down before making a run for the Car. (I can’t run with the Cane.)

We were heading to Health First Pharmacy when we both received Tornado Alerts for our immediate area. Stuck in the middle of traffic, with most traffic lights not working, where could we go. The Pharmacist were quick to fill our Prescriptions but then I got a surprise. The Pain Pill I was prescribed is considered a Narcotic because it contains Codeine. My parents gave me Cough Syrup with Codeine when I was growing up. Because of all the Overdoses happening lately, my Pain Pills came with a side order of Naloxone, just in case.

We headed to Wendy’s to have Salads for supper. We had to walk between the Raindrops going in and leaving. I dropped Kathy at the front door before hot footing it from the parking lot.

The Weather Guessers are forecasting Humidex for the next week exceeding the Century Mark. I don’t think the Southern States are the place to be right now, because they are definitely Hotter.
Being tired from not sleeping properly and having
already taken my Pain Pill as instructed, I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open to post this Blog.

When will the little snake arrive?

I don’t know, but it won’t be long.

  1. I'm really confused why they would give you Naloxone with your prescription. One of my family members is on a strong medication with codeine and she certainly doesn't get it.
