It Was A Merry Christmas.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Having three consecutive days off of work is truly helping me to relax to the point that I didn’t mind sleeping in again. Another good reason for doing so was that it was Christmas day. We know the real meaning behind the day and say our prayers thinking about it but with the Coronavirus Restrictions set by the Provincial Government of Ontario booking an appointment to attend Mass made no sense. Again we said our prayers to ourselves.

The saying goes “It is better to give than receive” but in our home we share equally. Since we’ve been apart so much lately we needed something to boost our spirits under the tree. It wasn’t a lot but that simple act of having something unknown to open did exactly what it was meant to do giving us a sense of worth.

After spending the morning reading Blogs we also made a few Calls to those special people in our lives. I was also long overdue in sending some communication to our Friends Wayne and Sue from Washington State. They are at their usual spot in La Posa South but we are not there to share Christmas dinner or Campfires with them. We are so looking forward to the day we can once again share those memories.

Knowing we would be feasting later we kept lunch lite by having Split Pea with Ham Soup along with a Hot Apple Cider Drink.

Shortly after 4:00 we headed off to our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. Karen and Greg were busy putting the finishing touches to the meal as we walked in. Sanford knows that Christmas means Presents to him and immediately cornered Kathy who had his Gift in her bag.

Kylla is still pursuing her dream in the Medical Field. At present she is still working at the Mini-Van Plant along with shifts at one of the Local Hospitals. She was sleeping until we arrived after working a Twelve Hour Shift at the Hospital followed by an Eight Hour Shift on the Assembly Line then returning to the Hospital for another Twelve Hour Shift. It’s a good thing she is young and able to handle the long hours at this time.

Ashley arrived minutes later giving hugs to everyone. Her present job is being done from home but she will be getting her Booster Vaccine next week.

Tyler and Jessica were slightly late at arriving. Tyler has also been putting in long hours at work and fell asleep while visiting at Jess’s parent’s home.

Even though Karen said she did not make a big meal this year we were all well satisfied when we left the table. She had Turkey, Ham, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Dressing, Roasted Beets, Cranberries and Gravy. Then there was Homemade Chocolate Cream Cheese Pie along with an assorted tray of One Bite Desserts.

We enjoyed our Coffees downstairs while some Gifts were passed out. The yearly Family Christmas Photo was taken causing a lot of laughs. One of the gifts that Tyler received was a Virtual Reality Headset that had prerecorded movies in it. Everyone was having fun until in one scene Tyler was under attack and kicked out at a villain but in reality kicked Nova his and Jess’s dog. Nova wasn’t injured but just curious what everyone was doing standing in the middle of the room waving their hands and feet.

Tyler there for her Safety.

We had an Enjoyable Evening with only Family and it felt good. Thank you Karen and Greg for having us over for a wonderful meal.

The Weather Network showed we had a high temperature of 52 F (11 C) feeling like 48 F (9 C) but that was before 9:00 this morning. Bit by bit the temperature would slowly get colder as the day progressed.

You’ve all heard of the Twelve Days of Christmas well tomorrow will be Day Two for us. Stay Tuned.
