Added Time and Happy New Year.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even with an 8:00 starting time I had to knock on the Office Window to rouse Paul from his sleep. Since we’ve had so many Break-Ins I believe he spends most of the night patrolling the Plant. By the time I returned to my Utility Cart the Employee Door suddenly flew open.

The first thing I had to do was to finish joining the Beams and then to stitch them to the Ceiling so they’ll support the weight of the Carriers and all the Automotive Parts that will be running down them. Ivan was busy getting Tools moved out of our way and lining up the Cleaning Crew to come help us put up the Shields later this afternoon.

The welding was finished by 11:20 so we stopped for our first break. For some reason I chose to eat half my Sandwich along with the Orange Slices that Kathy had put in my lunch. Seeing that made Ivan do the same. We would later appreciate having done so.

Before we could start installing the Shields we needed to reconnect the Drive Chain that makes up the Paint-Line. Even though we had been careful to clamp it so as not to add too much slack when we broke it apart we were struggling to reconnect it. The Cleaning Crew came to our assistance which attracted the attention of Paul the Owner. Paul is an Electrical Engineer by trade and has some very helpful tips on how to do some things but when it comes to Mechanical he should just let us get it done even if we are struggling. After his initial instruction he kept changing his mind and added at least Two Hours to the job. As soon as we had it reconnected Ivan and the Cleaning Crew practically ran out the door heading for home.

Tomorrow morning we’ll finish getting the Shields in place so we can enjoy the remainder of New Years Eve.

It was 5:50 when I punched out and after loading my Tools into the Truck I finally had the chance to call Kathy for the first time. I walked in the Apartment shortly after 6:00. We had Chicken Noodle Soup for supper and I finished my Sandwich from lunch. The hot Coffee/Tea tasted so good we both had a double.

When the 6 o’clock Local News came on they must have talked about the Coronavirus Cases before I walked in but the Local News reported 247 New Coronavirus Cases for the Windsor/Essex Region along with 7 Coronavirus Deaths.

The Weather Network showed we had a high temperature today of 34 F (1 C) feeling like 28 F (-2 C). With slightly warmer temperatures forecasted for tomorrow I’m hoping to have time to enjoy some of it.

Knowing most will be attending or hosting small New Years Eve Celebrations tomorrow Kathy and I want to wish everybody a Safe and Happy New Year. Remember if “You Drink. Don’t Drive”.
