Losing A Dear Friend and Getting Things Done.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It felt good sleeping in this morning and not worrying about hurrying off to work. Finally I started by opening the Window Blind allowing the Sun to brighten our world. After opening the Balcony Blind I started getting things ready for breakfast. Even though I made no noise Kathy came rushing out of the bedroom not wanting to miss a second of sharing our day.

After enjoying our Cinnamon Rolls at the table we took our Hot Apple Cider Drinks over to the Computers. I took a quick walk to find both Laundry Rooms busy because now half the machines are no longer working.

Our morning temperature.

Back at the Apartment after checking on more Job Ads I was finally able to start catching up on Blogs we follow. We were sadden to read of the passing of our Dear Friend Elaine who we met years ago while attending the Tampa RV Show.

When it came time for lunch Kathy warmed up the Leftover Spareribs and Leftover Celery Root in the frying pan. It was topped off with Shortbread Cookies and a Fruit Cup for dessert. We did up the Dishes before heading out the door.

Wanting to have Sunday more to ourselves we had a few stops to make today. Our first stop was Princess Auto where half of my purchase will be remaining at home.

Next we stopped at Canadian Tire to pick up some Deep Sockets that I had a Rain Cheque for. Oddly the young woman at the Service Desk just directed me to the Tool Section where what I was looking for was not there and there was nobody available to find it. I left before I said something rude.

We stopped at the Pioneer gas station to air up our tires. We have a slow leak in one but this should last until next week.

At Dollarama we picked up a few things on our Shopping List thus helping to lower our cost.

It was already past 5:00 so we went to Arby’s Drive-Thru where we ordered Greek Gyros for our supper.

Finally at Zehr’s grocery store we only got what was on the Shopping List and it was still expensive.

Since the New Management has taken over running the building they have removed all the Shopping Carts so we carried everything from the Car to the Apartment. While Kathy started putting things away I went to park and bring up the last of our purchases.

It was past 7:00 but I was only getting started. I had the Laundry to do and the New Management’s idea of fixing the Washers and Dryers is to put an “Out Of Order” sign on them. Plans are to replace them all but we need working machines now. Luckily I had brought my Laptop with me so I wrote the Blog between moving loads around. It took longer then expected.

We are hoping for a better day tomorrow.

The Weather Network showed that we reached a high temperature of 19 F (-7 C) but we had Sunny Skies the entire morning.

  1. Happy to hear you are still looking for a better job. After all these years is so nice that Kathy still enjoys spending time with you... so romantical. :D

  2. We all see how most everything has gone up in price. Sure we on SS down here in USA got a nice increase. That is more than offset by the huge increase in Medicare costs. Along with that we have increases in Prescription Part D, our supplemental coverage, most all grocery items, gas and fuel, natural gas, electric, etc etc. And just now I find our Directv is up $10.00 more a month. I feel bad complaining as so many have it harder than we do. We were wise 30+ years ago to work with a Financial Planner with a look to the future. But who knows..... that could all go away with a collapse of the economy. I sound like a downer today. Sorry.
