By waking before the alarm went off this morning meant that I also got to the Plant earlier. I was surprised to see the door was already open so I didn’t have to wait to get set up but Paul already had a dilemma for me to look into. The Forklift that he always uses didn’t want to start. After connecting the Large Battery Charger within Five Minutes it started without any problems but that didn’t mean the Battery was charged enough. Paul had me set it to Trickle Charge for the remainder of the day. Forklifts are sometimes only used for a few minutes here and there draining the Battery more then charging it.

During my Morning Inspection a leaky valve was added to the List for repairs. What made this one so notable was that it was attached to a loose Hose which was creating a fair sized puddle in the work area. Strange how pointing something so mediocre to Paul he suddenly became concerned about a number of minor drips that I’ve pointed out to him over the last few months.

After it appeared that there were no Carriers to work on I focused on remeasuring the Compressed Air Dryer Unit. If you recall my mentioning yesterday that the Parts that were ordered on Friday did not all come as specified. When working with Metal Piping there are Two styles of Reducers and the one specified was not what they sent which meant some of the lengths would have to be recalculated.

Back at the Maintenance Compound I got the last pieces cut before starting the threading process. Having to manually twist the Cutter around repeatedly was bad enough but when it came to doing the same with the Threader it turned into a labour intensive job. Most companies would have a Motorized Pipe Machine that has a Cutter that folds down, along with a Reamer for removing the cutting burr, a Pump to feed the Cutting Fluid as the Pipe is run through the Threading Dyes. All the Pipes that took me nearly Two Days to produce would have been completed in less then a Half Hour. You can also make Shorter Pipe Nipples with greater ease.

As I was returning from the Mezzanine around noon having just tried one of the assemblies Kharen spotted me. Since this was Tuesday I expected him to start chewing me out for something. When he asked I told him what I was doing but he needed to be certain I was using the proper Pipe Dope. (That is a compound that makes certain there are no Leaks in the joint.) Showing him the container he wasn’t sure if it was the right stuff but when I mentioned that it was Paul who purchased it he approved its use. Most of the Piping is on the Mezzanine just waiting to be connected when the Compressor is shut down on the weekend.

We had Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls on a bed of Vegetable Rice for supper along with Date Squares for dessert. As soon as I finished my shower we were on our way out the door.

Under the New Coronavirus Rules here in Ontario we need to be able to prove we have been Vaccinated when dining in Restaurants, going to Gyms and for Travelling by plane as well as when our International Border opens to Non-Essential Travel. We had made an appointment at Staples to get our Proof Of Vaccine made in Wallet Size as well Maria helped us set up our Cell Phones with the Q-Pass. Total cost for the both of us was only $3.35.

We missed the 6 o’clock Local News and will be asleep by 11:00 so we won’t talk about the Coronavirus Cases for the Windsor/Essex Region today.

The Weather Network showed our high temperature today felt like 73 F (23 C).
