Plans, Feeling Like We’re Travelling and Overdue Visit.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even with another restless night I was still up by 8:30 letting the bright sunshine in through the Balcony Door but when I checked The Weather Network it showed the temperature just hoovering below the Freezing Mark.

I busied myself getting chores done in the kitchen before Kathy woke just after 9:00. We discussed what we had to do without making Plans because every time we make them they seldom happen.

Between some morning reading and chores we were sitting down having lunch at 11:30. We had Italian Wedding Soup along with an Apple, Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Chocolate Pudding Cup for dessert. We were finished cleaning the Dishes before noon.

We still had to do a quick look around our Pantry Drawers so we could make a Grocery List before heading out the door by 12:30.

Heading for the Car there was only the slightest breeze but the temperature was so comfortable we were only wearing Jackets and were not cold.

It felt wonderful just to be getting out. With all the Lock-Downs and Variants it makes people leery to be going out in public. Even though we are in the Red reopening stage the roads and parking lots were far from full for a Saturday afternoon.

Travelling on the Parkway made us feel like we were going through some larger cities. By the time we were driving on the Expressway it reminded us of many Interstates we’ve travelled. Finally on Eighteen Highway made us feel like we were exploring many of the rural areas we have passed through.

Our destination was the Pharma Choice drug store in Amherstburg to pick up our Prescribed Medications. Years ago we used Shoppers Drug Mart for our Meds but for a Nation Wide Company there were more Co-pay charges then we could figure out along with a shortage of pills. Their counting systems were a Computer Controlled Dispensary that wasn’t very accurate. It was because of that System that I started counting our medication each time we picked it up. When we went Fulltime we transferred to our present Pharmacy. They hand count every pill, there is seldom a Co-pay and they are always willing to explain or discuss any concerns we have. There has never been any shortages of Medications either and they treat you like friends. Everything was ready today unfortunately there was a lineup of people and since they were about to close for the weekend there was no visiting.

We had Planned something else since we were in town and that was to finally see our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa along with our grandsons Cameron and Matthew. The last time we visited outside was last summer. With Melissa still working from home and Kevin having already gotten his first Vaccine we felt safe. Cameron is still attending in-person schooling until June and Matthew is working for a small Farming operation. We’ve missed visiting with them so much that our Planned visit flew by and was longer then expected. We can’t wait to be able to visit outside again.

As we started to head back we stopped at the new Wendy’s Drive-Thru and picked up our supper. We each had a Chicken Wrap, a Small Chocolate Frosty and a Seniors Soft Drink bringing the bill to less then Ten Dollars. It took Fifteen Minutes to enjoy our meals in their lot.

It was past 5:30 by the time we picked up our Mail at Guardian Storage. When we drove past the Trailer we were wishing we were back on the road but with the present Border Restrictions that would not be practical.

We had Planned to stop for groceries but were tired by then so we headed back to the Apartment. We’d barely got our Jackets off when the 6 o’clock Local News started. They reported that there were 30 New Coronavirus Cases in the Windsor/Essex region bringing the Active Cases to 280 with 21 of those Hospitalized. Today’s high reached 54 F (12 C) and we can expect a few more of those days this week.

Trees are starting to have a little colour.

We watched another Murder Mystery this evening.

We’ll try to get our groceries tomorrow.

Krackers

There are basically three kinds of people in the world.

Those who can count and those that can’t.
