Whenever we used to have a Travel Day that we planned on getting an early start we would set the Alarm. Needing to be out the door at a reasonable time today last night we set the Alarm. Most times when you set an Alarm you tend to toss and turn then napping rather then sleeping. Finally you look at the Clock to see you’re wake up time is only minutes away so you get up and shut the Alarm without it having gone off. That’s what happen this morning but if we didn’t set the Alarm we would be wishing we had.
Before leaving the bedroom I simply opened the Blinds to let the Sun shine in. By the time I started the Toast Kathy was already joining me.
We checked the temperature to see that it was exactly at the Freezing Mark but if you stood close enough to the Windows you could feel the warmth of the Sunshine coming through.
We were out the door by 9:20 allowing for all the imaginable delays that could happen. There was a noticeable increase in Traffic now that the area is not in Lock-Down. We arrived with only Ten Minutes before Kathy’s scheduled appointment.
If you recall Kathy had surgery that was delayed due to the Coronavirus restrictions. The Surgeon removed Polyps that were causing her breathing problems. Luckily they were tested and came back Negative but the Surgeon has been doing followups to be certain they are not growing back.
The Sun shining through the windshield as I waited in the Car soon had me pealing off my Coat because I was starting to sweat. Kathy’s last appointment took over Two Hours so I was surprised when she came out after only One.
With my appointment scheduled for 1:00 that meant we had time to check our Mail. We drove past the house we sold Ten Years ago. The landscaping is not the way we left it but it’s no longer our house.
We stopped at Guardian Storage and found among our Mail some of the forms we need to do our Income Taxes.
Knowing that we had some time we did something we haven’t done in awhile. We went to Wendy’s Drive-Thru and ordered Two Chicken Wraps, Two Small Chocolate Frosties and Two Seniors Soft Drinks for lunch. We’ve missed those and we didn’t break the bank.
Back at our building the first thing we needed to do was put our Coats on. The Southeast Wind blowing between the buildings was actually chilling us to the bone. It felt good to get in our Apartment but then it felt stuffy.
Sitting with our House Phone in hand I watched as 1:01 came I started thinking my Interview was not going to happen. When it rang at 1:02 I answered it on the first ring. Ryan was not an Employer but another Ontario Employment Representative. He explained a few more things about their Fulltime Employment Placements that hopefully will give me the employment we need for a Year or Two.
Checking The Weather Network it showed more spring like temperatures outside.
We later watched “Law and Order” before having a Store Bought Medium Thin Crust Canadian Pizza for our supper.
On the 6 o’clock Local News they talked about the Coronavirus Vaccines and delays Canadians are facing getting them. I personally find this hard to believe when Undeveloped Countries are getting Vaccines. They also mentioned that there are now 30 Variant Strains in Ontario. The Windsor/Essex area had 1 New Death, an 80 year old male in a Retirement Home. We also had 24 New Cases bring our total number of Active Cases to 354.
We later watched an episode of “Criminal Minds” that we missed while we were Fulltiming.
I think we might be sleeping in tomorrow.

Your grandfather always does the "pull my finger" trick at the family reunion.
Nice that both appts went well. Hope fully a job in your near future! We don't eat fast food anymore, but when we did Wendy's was my favorite!
ReplyDeleteGlad Kathy's results were negative, that's a bit of good news.
ReplyDeleteSounds like all went well with Kathy's checkup and your interview. Have my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteKathy is fortunate to have a caring doctor in charge of her health.
ReplyDeleteI do not know what it is but we have been having terrible winds and wind gusts for several days now. Hope yours subside as well.
