Wondering and Planning.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Late last year my Family Doctor advised me, that the hard floors at work were not helping my Hip/Leg and it was probably time to call it quits. He as well as my Chiropractor, did say to keep moving as a way of easing the Pain and Discomfort in the joints. The problem is when we walk, the Pain is excruciating afterwards, but if I sit still it is equally as bad. The Orthopedic Surgeon with Forty Years experience, is so booked up, the soonest he could help me is in Two Years. Knowing how bad it’s getting, he referred me to another Orthopedic Surgeon with Twenty Years experience over a Month ago. Not hearing back, I’ve made several unsuccessful attempts to contact him. I might just show up at the original Surgeon’s Office to get things moving again.

This is getting to be old news sleeping in until 8:00 this morning, and Ten Minutes later Kathy joined me for breakfast.

I’ve heard from other Bloggers, that are also having problems, putting pictures on their Blogs.

Still looking forward to being back on the road, we partially planned our next Southwest route which included stopping to visit with a number of RV Followers.

Changing things around a bit, we had a Veggie Omelette for supper tonight.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment, unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion, or is Spam.

  1. Maybe somebody could prescribe some non-weight bearing exercises to keep your joints moving?? Just a thought. Surely there are some.....

  2. Thanks for the update Rick and hi to Kathy. Is swimming an option for gentle movement and non-weight bearing?

  3. I can't believe it takes so long to schedule surgery. In Arizona you probably wouldn't have waited 30 days. Hope you get scheduled soon.

  4. I would be AT the new surgeon's office in the morning.! Who knows if the old guy even forwarded your records & transfer paperwork.? You need a cortizone shot immediately since the hyaluronic gel did not work. Only problem is you can't have any surgery for 3 months after injection - due to higher risk of infection. Maybe go to the ER - they can probably do it there. I can't believe all the old people in Canada must endure such horrendous pain & suffering for years on end. Time to become much more aggressive in your healthcare. Do you have to stay in your own province.? Find a less populated city & a new surgeon with a short waiting period. Maybe buy travel insurance, get yourself to someplace in the US to get emergency hip replacement.? Think out of the box & after reading Al's blog - definitely do not get a spinal tap.! Wishing you relief from pain & get on with your Life.

    1. Never mind about the Travel Insurance idea. Did a little reading & you would have to get a policy with no pre-existing conditions and no stability clause and a bunch of other stuff. The more I read - the worse it is for you Canadians. So sorry for you. Anyway, back to original idea. Get to new surgeons office 1st thing in the morning & beg for a cortizone shot at the very least. It doesn't need a surgeon to perform anyway. Can your family doctor give you the injection.? Take the bull by the horns & get some help. Prayers.
