Stocking Up and The Bootlegger.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

We could really get used to this sleeping when we’re supposed to. I haven’t changed anything in my Nighttime Mickey, so maybe it is starting to build in my system. Either way, Kathy is enjoying the sound sleep she has been having as well.

We worked on our Computers for most of the morning. After having checked the state of our Fridge/Freezer and Pantry, we headed out the door with a Shopping List in hand.

First, we stopped at Taco Bell for a late lunch. Our Coupon helped cut our costs, but the prices are still not what they used to be. We’d barely sat down to eat when there was a line up to the doors. In an industrial city, not everyone eats at the same time.

We made a few stops before going home. Next, at Dollarama to get our favourite refreshment at half the cost of the grocery store. Then we went to Zehr’s grocery store for the Produce and Dairy products that were not at the dollar store. Finally, we stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up Vitamins that will be needed the next time the Doucettes are filled. I also picked up some Melatonin that our friend Sue had recommended when Boondocking in Quartzsite Arizona. It works better than most over the counter or prescribed medications do.

Back at our building, it was like doing a jigsaw puzzle when it came time to load our Two Wheel Shopping Cart. Besides that, we were both carrying lighter bags, so we could get everything up to the Apartment in one trip.

It’s becoming a habit that all our meals are later then they used to be.

Since Kathy reads so much, we watch for Book Sales. Last week we found one by Clive Cussler, titled The Bootlegger. Clive is a Naval Historian, so most of his boots are factual. Kathy was in shock when most of this book takes place around Windsor Ontario and documents its involvement during Prohibition. Things she told me, from the book, were things I had heard growing up from many relatives. Can’t wait to read it myself.
