I Know Why, Updating The Program and Confused Doctor.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though the temperature was above 50 F (10 C), the northerly breeze made it feel much cooler. I was slightly tempted to go back inside to add another layer.

At work I was surprised that Mile had forgotten today was when the Representative from Kennametal was to arrive to try to help us out with the issues we continue to have with the Plasma Transfer Arc. (I would later learn the reason for his distraction that has caused him to be very irritable with everyone.)

As expected there were Two Feedscrews waiting for touch-ups on the Inspection Bench. Combined, they would take Twenty Minutes to complete.

I had Vic review what I had E-mailed last evening to Devin the Rep, in an effort to give him some chance to research what the problem could be. He didn’t have anything to add and was surprised by a couple of the problems listed. I have slowly been teaching him how to control the PTA, so while we waited this morning I started teaching him more about the Torch and then the Spreadsheet that we enter the information we use to make the machine work.

Vinnie the Engineer became agitated that we were still waiting for Devin to arrive after break, and insisted I start welding on the PTA. In less then a Half Hour the Two and a Half Inch Screw was ready to start when Devin showed up. I shut the Burner off before we all headed to the Conference Room.

With Mile the Owner, Vinnie the Engineer, Vic the Inspector, Devin the Kennametal Representative from Chicago and myself the Welder/Machine Operator in the Room, we were also Conference-Calling Mark in Pennsylvania. The Two Reps were following along as I made my case and an Hour later it was decided they would have to update the PTA Program. (I’ve only been saying that since I started Nine Months ago.) It should happen within the month.

Devin needed more information from the ID Tags and to make a list of the Parts that according to me, need replacing or repair. He had never seen Complicated Feedscrews of the calibre we are creating. We also showed him a few that are the result of the PTA not following its assigned path.

When he had everything he needed he left. Since I still had a doctor’s appointment for the afternoon, I let Mile know that I would return in the morning.

Kathy had already left by the time I called so I ended up meeting her at our Family Doctor’s Office. We arrived early and were able to see him early. He was happy with Kathy’s results and consults with the Specialists. He was confused with the Ultra Sound I had last year and the one I had last evening. The first showed a Hernia and the one last night didn’t. Now I have to get another X-ray.

We headed back to the Apartment to relax for an Hour. We each dove a vehicle because Kathy had been up early to see her Cardiologist. She is wearing another Heart Monitor to see what difference her New Medications are making. She’s not into getting up early anymore. She had a Snap while I read the News. When she woke she saw my eyes had closed also.

We were soon headed out the door. We had one last appointment at Fantastic Sam’s to get our hair cut. Again we were early and Julia got us out the door before our appointed time.

We decided to try something different for supper and went to a small place called Gyros & More. Kathy enjoyed her Greek Salad while I enjoyed a Chicken Wrap. They were both delicious and filling.

We made a quick stop at Guardian Storage to retrieve our Bistro Set. We had to take everything off our Balcony so the Contractors could clean and repair the Railings. By the time we got back to the building the Wind had picked up. Rather than risk damaging the Table we left the Set in the Car for tonight.

  1. Good luck with getting the equipment straightened out at work. Better luck at getting your body information making sense with the doctor.
