A Final Good-Bye.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Last night I had to figure out how much time we needed to get to our destination and still be able to sleep in. I came up with a decent time without being rushed. That also gave Kathy a little more time, since she needs more than I do.

With the mild temperatures we have been having for nearly a week, it was nice that we would be heading out. Thinking ahead we stopped at Wendy’s where we used Coupons for our breakfast.

When I spoke to Jim last night I assured him we would be at his home in Belle River at 10:00. We pulled up with Five Minutes to spare, finding him outside finishing the last of his Coffee. Within Fifteen Minutes we were all hooked up and ready to roll.

For those that don’t remember Jim and Lorraine are the couple who bought our Trailer that we were Fulltiming in for Four Years. Kathy and I had discussed selling it when the Coronavirus hit, because she was worried that if something happened to me, she would not be able to bring our Forty Foot Trailer home. We reluctantly advertised it but those that answered basically wanted us to give it to them. We pulled the Ad and were cleaning the Trailer at Guardian Storage when Jim stopped by. He was asking about trailers in general but when we showed him inside, the talks became more specific.

Since they don’t have a Truck and would be scared to try to pull it, we delivered it to their home last Fall. Since then, they have not only familiarized themselves with the Trailer, but added their own personal touches.

Their intention is to set it up as a weekend and vacation getaway at one of the area’s prominent RV Parks in Leamington. Just after Christmas, they were told it would be the later part of April before the Trailer could be brought in. With the mild weather, they were allowed to bring it in today.

It felt good to be cruising down the road as we have done so many times, yet bitter sweet. When we arrived at the Park we were told to leave it at the Gate where the Tractor was used to bring it to its new home. It was slightly sad as we drove away, knowing that we’ll never see it again, but then we remembered we have our smaller Trailer to make memories in.

Jim more than reimbursed us for our time and fuel. It was past noon so we stopped at Freddy’s to have a relaxing lunch of Lake Perch, then topped it off with a Chocolate Sundae for dessert. After listening to us talk about our travels, our server was really interested in travelling during the Winter.

We meandered Highway 18, back through the towns of Kingsville and Harrow, before pointing the Truck North.

It wasn’t long after we were in Windsor and we stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart. I needed to purchase some Vitamins.

Back at the Apartment, we both needed to relax for a few minutes before I got started doing our Pill Doucettes. First I had to log the recent purchases onto the Spreadsheet, When the Doucettes were finished I had to update the entrees.

We simply had a small piece of Chocolate Cake for our supper.

With wet weather forecasted for tomorrow, we’ll take it one minute at a time.
