All Pumped and Cooler Temperatures.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

With the Rain the Windsor area received yesterday it was no surprise to walk in to find part of the plant floor covered in water. Paul the Owner suggested I might be heading to the Roof to check if the one of the Roof Drains might have gotten plugged. Everything seemed to be working fine this morning after my Morning Walk Around so I was able to get a number of Carriers repaired in the Maintenance Compound.

It was shortly after 8:00 when Kharen the Supervisor came in with a new job assignment. I still think that he figures it’s his responsibility to add misery to everyone’s life. The job was simple and I made a Jig within minutes to make it an easy task. He didn’t like the result.

Just then Paul and a Line Worker came in carrying the new Electric Pump Motor to replace the one that had burnt out last week. His words were “This has to be installed before we leave today” had Kharen leave Compound in a hurry.

Opening the Box there was a New Motor with a Short Shaft. That meant I now had to take it apart. The Arbour Shaft on the old Pump Motor ran down to the bottom on the Pump. By noon I had the Old Arbour Shaft in the New Winding.

When I spoke to Kathy her knee was feeling better but I reminded her to give it a rest for today. I also gave her warning that I could be late getting home.

Everything went together well but I insisted that I would not connect the Dozen Wires that needed to be connected. The reason for so many Wires is that Electric Motors can run on different Voltages by connecting the different combinations together. By connecting the wrong Wires together could lead to another fried motor and at a Thousand Dollars you don’t want that.

After removing the Portable Pump from the Pit it didn’t take long to install. It was nearly 5:00 when Paul and I finished the installation. By the time I closed up my tools it was after before I left for the day.

Looks like a Fall Sky to me.

I made a quick stop at Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up some Vitamins we’ll need when I do our Pill Doucettes.

Minutes after I arrived in the Apartment Kathy was serving Salmon Fillets with a Garden Salad for supper with Shortbread Cookies and Vanilla Pudding Cups for dessert.

The 6 o’clock Local News reported the Windsor/Essex Region had 44 New Coronavirus Cases of which 10 were confirmed Unvaccinated today bringing the Active Cases to 429.

The Weather Network showed our Humidex only felt like 79 F (26 C) this afternoon with a forecast of cooler temperatures for the next week.

I didn’t get the Bulbs changed on the Truck because I was just too tired. Hoping to get it done tomorrow.
