It always amazes me that I can be so Bright-Eyed when I get to work after spending half the night tossing, turning and looking at the Clock.
Today I brought the Grease Gun along for my Morning Walk Around and it had nothing to do with the Drive Motor. Every Month part of my Extra Duties is to lubricate all the Bowers, Fans, Motors and Pumps as a way of preventing their failure. Unfortunately that doesn’t always work because of the age of the equipment.
Back at the Maintenance Compound there were a couple of Carriers to repair before other things started going south. Since we had to pull one of the Pumps due to the Motor being burnt out the Portable Pump has been put to use. Unfortunately there were so many Pin Holes in the Hose that it looks like a Lawn Soaker.
After running out of Tape
I got another roll from Paul the Owner and explained what it
was for. He pointed to a New Roll of the same Hose I
just repaired and said put that on. Bringing what tools I thought
would be needed I had barely pulled the Pump when Kharen the
Supervisor started screaming at me for not having the Right
Tools. First I said I’d never worked with that kind of Hose
before and if he didn’t stop screaming I would leave. He went
somewhere else with one of the Line Workers.Overcast all day.
I was fit to be tied and not sure what his problem was then I remembered today was Tuesday. Before he went on vacation every time he would do that was on a Tuesday. I finished the job by myself with no interruptions wishing he’d just go away.
I never saw Kharen until later
in the day when I was finishing the Manifold Links that Paul
wanted made but he never said a word to me.Kathy's Lunch. Tuna on an English Muffin along
with a Pecan Tart and Yogurt Cup for dessert.
When I spoke to Kathy while on my lunch she had just returned from the Wholesale Club on Dougall where she picked up the last Two Boxes of Halls Cough Drops. They are nearly Half the Price then at the Drug Stores.
I had planned on replacing the Taillight Bulb in the Truck when I got home but I’d barely got in the building when the Rain started coming down. In the Apartment I was reviewing our Medication List and decided to only fill our Doucettes for 17 Days this time. This will help use some of the Surplus of some medications and make it so we can visit when we go to Amherstburg to pick up the Medication at the Pharmacy.
Kathy was just starting to get things from the Fridge when her Knee popped out again. Even though I was capable of cooking the Acorn Squash and Spare-Ribs for supper she kept a watchful eye from her chair.
The 6 o’clock Local News reported the Windsor/Essex Region had 45 New Coronavirus Cases today of which 6 were confirmed Unvaccinated. Sadly there were also 2 More Deaths in the area bringing the Coronavirus Total here to 448.
The Weather Network showed our Humidex only felt like 99 F (37 C) this afternoon.
Kathy’s Knee is still bothering her but she is having a hard time staying off of it to let it heal which is what I told her she’ll be doing tomorrow. With a better forecast for tomorrow I’ll also get those Bulbs replaced.

Krackers
Why was the writer in agony?
Because the editor removed their colon.
I think you handled the situation with the "supervisor" wonderfully. Isn't it sad that some people need to be "taught" manners?
ReplyDeleteArgh. Sorry about Kathy's knee. Looks like a great supper anyway. And I see Kharen is actually around. Um. Well done on your part.
