We were out the door shortly after 9:00 this morning with our lists to be certain we accomplished everything we needed.
Our first stop was Service Ontario where we needed to pick up our new License Stickers for both the Car and the Truck. When we arrived at the Pickwick Location there were only a few cars in the lot but a lot of Notices taped inside the Windows. Apparently someone ignored precautions and exposed the entire staff to the Coronavirus. They listed the addresses of the other locations that could help us out.
The next Service Ontario location was at the Dorwin Plaza. I circled around so that Kathy could keep an eye on the line until I got closer to the door. Counting my way back in the line I ended up being Number 73 and other people joined in after me. When I reached about 20 from the door Kathy came over to join me. Most were wearing Masks even outside but everyone was maintaining Six Feet of Social Distancing. Surprisingly we were only there an Hour and a Half.
Our next stop was at Legion 594 where I’ve been a member since 1999. Due to all these Lock-Downs there has been problems when it came to paying my yearly dues. Even though the Bar is not open they still have Take-Out Meals most evenings as a way of keeping things running. Linda was in the office and within minutes had everything straightened around that the National Office had messed up.
Driving back to the East Side of Windsor it was minutes from noon when we stopped at Wendy’s Drive-Thru to pick up lunch. Where can Two People both have Chicken Wraps, Small Chocolate Frosties and Seniors Soft Drinks for a total of $7.41.
We swung by the Apartment to get rid of our morning Coffees and to pick up the Truck. Of course we worked together to boost it before it would start.
I showed Kathy most of the route that I take to work in the mornings. The rest was easy for her to figure out. Our destination was Windsor Gas and Diesel. I’d spoken to Jim earlier and he said the same as he always does “Bring it in and we’ll fix it up”. When Don put the Tester to the Primary Battery was at 50% and the Secondary Battery was only at 5%. There was no wondering why the Truck would not start. I was told not running the Truck through the Cold Winter did the damage.
We stopped at VitalAire where we picked up our new CPAP Masks. They had left messages a few times but with our Voice Messages not working properly on our house phone we never got them.
Next we stopped at Motor City community Credit Union to pick up additional rolls of Coinage for doing our laundry. With additional clothes used for work there’s more to clean.
Swinging over to Dollarama we went in for Bread and Pens and came out empty-handed.
Going to Zehr’s grocery store we picked up Produce and a few other things to tied us over until the weekend.
Heading in the direction of home we stopped at the Dollarama closest to our location. We walked the aisles as a way of getting some exercise. We found the Bread, Pens and Carbonated Juice.
By the time we were back in the Apartment it was time to make supper and I had decided to make a Vegetable Cheese Omelette.
On the 6 o’clock Local News the Windsor/Essex Region had 25 New Coronavirus Cases bringing the Active Cases to 223 of which 114 were Variants of Concern.
Today’s high temperature reached 73 F (23 C) but will slowly increase throughout the week.
For a day off it was a costly one. Guess that’s why I’ll be back at work in the morning.

You know you’re getting old when you’re more excited about a tool catalogue then a Playboy magazine.
Busy day. Almost down to 200! They better speed things up as its only 3 weeks until the US border opens June 22.
ReplyDeleteYour winters are much harsher than ours, but would a solar charger help maintain the truck batteries? I use a small dashboard unit on the truck when we leave it for an extended time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a lot accomplished on your day off.
