Warm Night, Comments Settings, Spam Removal and Another Birthday Celebration.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We don’t want to Jinx our Spring like weather but last night was a bit on the warm side. Since the temperature stayed in the Mid-Fifties we thought we could leave our Window slightly ajar. The problem was the Southerly Winds that were gusting to near Forty MPH kept slamming the Blinds against the Window Frame waking us each time. Finally we had to give in by closing the Window and sleeping without any blankets or sheets. We both had a restless night.

Nova drinking from her pool.

Kathy was up minutes after I got things ready for breakfast. Checking The Weather Network it was already 68 F (20 C) by 9:30 this morning. When we opened the Balcony Door the fresh air blowing in felt good but the noise from the Wind on our Bike Cover was nearly deafening. We had to keep the Door closed and our Bedroom Window open just to feel comfortable.

For a Sunday I managed to apply for Two Jobs before 10:30 this morning.

When it came time for lunch I created a Vegetable/Cheese Omelette while Kathy made a dessert plate with Orange Slices, Maple Cookies and Chocolate Pudding Cups.

Back at the Computers I received a reply to an E-mail I sent to Jim Hagarty the other day. I was shocked at his reply. All Bloggers put up with Spam and sometimes it can get overwhelming. Jim didn’t know any other way but to remove the Comment section from his Blog. That means that he has lost Five years of Comments he can never recover.

I’ve mentioned before how to fight those buggers. When I found those Ten Spams yesterday it took less then Five Minutes and everything was back to where it should be without the Hassle of having to search through Thousands of Comments. I’m no Computer Expert but here is what works for me.

Burger Condiments, Bacon, Cheese and Lettuce.

Going into the Design section of your Blog scroll down to Settings. Again scroll down to Comments. Set who can comment to those only with Google Accounts. Don't worry it will accept someone only registered on Facebook as well. Set Comment Moderation to Sometimes. That will allow you to monitor your comments of the latest posts in real time. I selected Moderation time on blogs older than 3 Days and older because I can still see the Comments for newer posts in the design. Most Spammers will attack older blogs. I've found those Posts are Months or Years old that are the biggest targets. You can set it for as many days as you wish. I have the Moderation Notice sent to my E-mail as an early warning so I know to check the Blog for Spam. I don't use Reader Comment Captcha because all Commenters would have to solve a Word Puzzle that on good days can confuse the best of us. It will also cause you to lose readers. When you find a Spam Comment you can't just delete it or it will continue to happen. You need to save it as Spam so Blogger will then recognize it as such and any further messages will be tossed automatically.

Hopefully that Step by Step will help you all to get rid of Spam without loosing good Comments.

It took longer then I expected to reply to Jim so we didn’t get out the door until nearly 4:00. Our destination was our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh. After working on her garden last weekend she invited us for a Birthday Celebration Meal. She had agreed to simply make Hamburgers but that’s not what we got. Greg was busy grilling the Hamburgers on his Charcoal Grill when we arrived while Karen was busy cooking in the kitchen while Tyler and Jess were setting the table. Besides the Hamburgers expertly done by Greg there were Roasted Mini-Potatoes and a Pasta with Feta Cheese on it. The meal was perfect but then Karen also brought out a German Chocolate Cake to top the meal with.

We had a chance to visit on the deck while both Sanford and Nova had the chance to run around in the yard. It was warm enough today that Nova even had the chance to take a dip in her Pool to cool down. If one of the dogs was getting attention from any of us the other would try to get the same attention from the same person at the same time.

After Hugs and Thank You we were soon on our way back home. It was 7:30 when we parked the Car as the Sun was already starting to hide behind the neighbouring building. Inside the Apartment we again had to open the Bedroom Window to cool down without Noise.

Both dogs wanting Kathy's attention.

We watched an episode of “Criminal Minds” before watching the 11 o’clock Local News from London. The Windsor/Essex Region reported 48 New Coronavirus Cases today that brought the Active Cases to 421.

The Temperature will start to slide back to Seasonal with the help of Rain over the next Week.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion or is Spam.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. That is what I do with comments also. Such a hassle-free way to deal with it.

  4. You gave me that same advice last year but Blogger did not recognize them as such. I have managed to mess up my blog so much trying to fix it that I do not even get notified when I have a comment I have to go to my blog to find out who left one and reply.

Your birthday dinner looks delicious and the dogs look happy and entertained.
