Keeping
the Bedcover
on as we sleep
has such advantages as keeping us comfortably warm but it
can
also cause a problem. We were both so comfortable that we slept far
later then we wanted this
morning.Our morning.
I had barely stepped foot in the Kitchen when Kathy came out to join me. That means she only stayed in bed Seven Minutes longer than me. Looking out the Balcony Door was very discouraging because it was like looking at the same Clouds that we saw most of the day yesterday.
Once
breakfast was over we headed over to the Computers.
There were no Jobs
that I had not applied for but there were plenty of Blogs
and Comments
to read.
Thanks to all who appreciate my on going mission for Blood Donations. Times have changed and things that used to restrict people from donating have been re-examined and many more people are now able to donate today. Having watched people receive that gift always encouraged me to do so but because I took multiple Antihistamines on a regular basis I couldn’t give. After having Surgery to correct that breathing problem my Late Wife battled Cancer and it was not until after her passing that I was able to start this journey.
The
Canadian
Blood Services
recognizes us by sending a Certificate
of
Recognition
our donations along with a small Pin
that I proudly wear on my Hat.
I’ll
get my next pin at 150
Donations
so I will post it in Three
and a Half Years.
When
I see commercials with people saying their lives were saved by Blood
Donors
I just smile and feel proud. There is no longer an Age
restriction. The
only thing that could disqualify someone from giving is if you are on
Blood
Thinners
or
have had certain Health
Conditions
such
as Cancer.
If your Hemoglobin
is too low simply taking Vitamin
B-12
or Iron
Supplements
will help.
As stated before our Blood is regenerated. When I mentioned that I actually feel better after each donation my Family Doctor told me it also helps to keep my Cholesterol down as well.
Anyone that thinks they might consider donating feel free to contact your local Red Cross or Canadian Blood Services for more information. Remember “Blood is in you to Give” or “The Life you save may be your own”. Think about it.
For our late lunch I made a Vegie/Cheese Omelette while Kathy made a dessert plate with Mandarin Orange Slices, Yogurt Cups, a slice of the Fruit and Nut Bread from our daughter Karen along with a square of Dark Chocolate which is considered healthy compared to Milk Chocolate.

The high temperature here reached 54 F (12 C) but felt cooler because of the westerly Breeze and the Cloud Cover. We can expect Frost for the next couple of nights and there is a good chance of more Rain tomorrow with similar temperatures.
For
supper we recreated last night’s Leftovers
by chopping the remaining Chicken
then adding it to the Spanish
Rice.
Kathy topped the Fruit
and Nut Bread with
Chocolate
Sauce
and Cool

for a change of taste.Clouds clearing just before the Sun set.
We later watched “Criminal Minds” this evening.

Time flies like an arrow.
Fruit flies like a banana.
Your omelette looks so yummy! Nice your clouds cleared at the end of the day, hopefully today is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteClearly yesterday was an omelette kind of day, Al made one too.
ReplyDeleteGood to know there is no age limit any more on blood donation. I'll have to check on that around here as I haven't been doing it because I thought I was too old. I used to,from time to time. And a long time ago when I was 21, I tried to sell it and could only squeeze out a half pint. Was so upset to see it tossed into the trash!! Ha. Apparently they need the entire little bag. My blood type is rare, so I will check into this. Thanks.
