Supporting Local Businesses.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

What worked on Wednesday night, did not work as well last night, even though it was the increased dosage to the Mickey.

We were greeted with the Sun breaking through the Clouds, as we took our Coffees to the Computers. We had discussed a change in our seating in the Apartment the other day and actually found something on Amazon that was close but thought about shopping locally. We considered buying used on Facebook Marketplace, but pondered about the reliability for something that will probably be the last we will ever buy.

We have noticed a number of businesses that had closed since Covid changed the way many of us shop. We thought that maybe we might help keep another business afloat.

We headed out after noon making our first stop at Burger King for lunch. It had been some time since we were last there, besides we had Coupons. We had an enjoyably relaxing lunch.

We went to a couple of the higher quality furniture outlets in Windsor, Tepperman’s and Coulter’s but nearly lost our lunches looking at the price tags. We then visited a couple of lesser-known places on Ottawa Street and Tecumseh Road without any luck.

We were heading towards home when we spotted Guaranteed Fine Furniture. Telling Tony what we were looking for he was patient and showed us a variety of Recliners. He also noted the difficulty I was having sitting then trying to stand again, so he showed us a number of different chairs. In the end we both have the kind of chairs we need, and they will be produced Locally to look the same. They should be delivered in May. I think we did our part for supporting Local Businesses.

We stopped at Wendy’s for supper. Of course we used a Coupon.

We barely made it home on time for the 6 o’clock Local News. Again, we have been forewarned of Spring Flurries changing the colour of the landscape. We’ll let you know tomorrow night.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment, unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion, or is Spam.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. We bought a recliner two years ago at The Brick. The spring mechanism was very tight and it was hard to shut the foot rest once opened. It had a button to do this. No one, other than the cats, wants to sit in this chair! This year we shopped again and found a nice one at Ashley that had a lever on the side. We ordered a different fabric so we waited for awhile. Be sure and test your choice once it arrives!
